We've been using Elite to reupholster some chairs my mother-in-law left us, really good pieces that needed new fabric and some interior re-working. One piece needed to be stripped, the wood frame painted and then re-upholstered. Tony has been great to work with - clear explanations, beautiful work and fair prices. We made a mistake with the paint color we asked him to use on the chair and he felt so bad when we didn't like how it looked (it was OUR mistake) he re-painted it for free. The upholstery work on that chair is beautiful, symmetrical, tight and totally professional. Craftsmanship earns them five stars. Poor communication cost them three stars. They said it'd take 3-4 weeks to complete my chair. Cut to 5 weeks later, still no chair, no word. Call them on week 6 and they say it'll be ready by end of week. Cut to week 8...still no chair, still no call. I dropped in today to find out what the deal was...and my chair is sitting there ready. For how long...no one could tell me. Wish they'd have treated me as respectfully as they treated my chair. read more

"I would advise not hiring Elite Upholstery to work for you. On July 30, 2019 I hired Yarol Perjece, the owner of Elite Upholstery to reupholster three kitchen, high counter bar stools with fabric seats and backs. I was quoted $750 for the job plus 7% tax for a total of $802.50. At this time, I gave her a check for $400, as a deposit for the job. The check was posted to my account the very next day. On August 14, she and a man delivered back to my home the reupholstered bar stools. I gave her the balance of $401.00 as I did not have the bill in front of me to know the other $ 1.50 and I could not remember what it was. That was fine with her. Standing in my kitchen I told her of all the future jobs that I would hire her for as soon as a remodeling job was completed in our home. They left and my check for the balance was posted the very next day. Later in the afternoon of the day the bar stools were delivered, I began to really look at the job Elite Upholstery had done with my bar stools and it was at that time I realized that one bar stool was done by a master upholsterer who knew what they were doing. The other two stools look like they were done by students learning their craft. The backs of the stools are done poorly, and this is what I see when I first walk into my kitchen! That the owner of the company, Yarol accepted this kind of work from her people is bad enough. For her to deliver them to me like this, is inexcusable! I showed them to my husband and he agreed this was inferior work. The very next morning on August 15, I emailed her photos of the bar stools and told her how we felt about the job. She called me and said she would make it right and come get the two bad bar stools and have them reupholstered, this time done right. I was pleased and waited to hear when she would come get the stools. She said the fabric would be coming in around August 21, so I called her on that date. She didn't tell me if she had the fabric, but instead that she was leaving for a trip to Peru on a family emergency and she would call me back when she returned. I called her during last few days of August and she said she would come and get the bar stools on September 2 and she would call me with a time. She did not come nor call me. I called her on September 4, and she said she would come on September 6 and would call me with a time. She did not come or call me! The next day I called her and she said she would come on Sept 9 at 10 AM. She did not come or call. So, I called her at 12 noon to find out what was going on. She said she would come that day at 4 PM. She did not come or call. This was this past Monday. At this point I had given up on her! She surprisingly called me mid-week and said she was so sorry once again! We agreed she would come on Friday Sept 13 at 10:30 AM. I decided to give her one more chance to make it right. She did not come on Friday at 10:30 AM. Instead, she called me 40 minutes later asking me for my address! At that point I decided I have a life to live! A life better spent than waiting around now four times made up of staying home, two full days and then another a day having to be here for two appointments made that she did not show up for! My time has value! She told me she had a big company client. If she ever loses this client because her people have once again done an inferior job and she chooses not to notice, she will lose her main livelihood. At this point she is going to wish she had clients like me. I told her I am now ready to accept the financial loss this involves for me. I can do this! She, now will have to suffer the consequences of her actions and unprofessionalism! The last communication I received from Elite, Yarol said, "How is it? I want to apologize to you. I have a duty to fix your chairs. I will blame you for the time I fail." Now, in some way, she has rationalized this is all my fault. I can't get back the hours I stayed at my house waiting on her! If she wants to do business with high end customers or just customers that expect a professional job, then she has got to change her ways!" read more

II have been in the design business for some years now and have used a lot of work rooms. I thought I would give Elite a try as I live close by. I would not use this company again as they didn't follow through with anything they said and they were a bit pricey. They only had three items to do and they got one of the three totally wrong. Their sewing was good on the other two, I'll give them that. They didn't want to take responsibility for the mistake, blamed me, really just made it a bad experience all around. Tony left a nasty message for me as he thought I was trying to rip them off and not pay the bill when in fact I had left 4 messages for him and already given my credit card number to his assistant. I have tried using Elite upholstery on two different occasions. The first time, they botched up my order for two seat cushions, taking a couple of months to complete a job that should have been done in a few weeks. I don't really know what happened on their end to drag the job out, or if what they told me was true, but, despite my frustration with the repeated bumping forward of the completion date, I was very happy with the cushions when they finally were ready, and still am. Since their location is convenient and they did a great job on the cushions, I thought I'd use them again for more cushions despite the issues before, and I got a firm commitment and promise from Tony, their interior consultant, that this time my order would be ready on the due date. I figured since I brought the fabric in, the pillows were very basic and nothing needed to be ordered, there would be no problems. Well...things were not ready on the date given me. I had come to pick up the cushions and left without them, or an apology, just "Oh, we've been so busy". A new date was set, still no cushions, then a new date...you get the picture. SO weeks later I get the cushions and they're great, but would I go back? Nope. Integrity, honesty, punctuality, and customer service are completely lacking here. One other thing: they don't pick up their phone, so you can't even call to see if your order is ready before you drive over to pick it up! read more

DO NOT GO HERE! AWFUL EXPERIENCE! DO NOT PUT A DEPOSIT DOWN! My Aunt referred me to Elite Upholstery because they have decent pricing and she had a good experience with them in the past. I needed a new slip cover for an old chair. I worked with Tony, who at first was more than helpful. I brought my old slip cover in and Tony worked with me on the price (total price $300). He said that it would be ready in 2 weeks and asked me to put a deposit down so he could order the fabric, which I did. Well, 4 weeks went by. Two days before picked up, Tony called to tell me that he made a mistake and did not order enough fabric. He said that he would overnight the fabric so he could finish it. When I picked up the slip cover, Tony demanded me pay for the shipping or the cost for the extra fabric. I was shocked and upset mostly because of the way that he handled the situation. He demanded that I pay him, there was no negotiation, no acknowledgment that he made the mistake. He simply would not give me the slip cover unless I payed extra! Needless to say, I did pay him $25 extra only because I couldn't get my deposit back. He is dishonest and awful! Do not go here! read more

The work is good and the prices are fair. However, as previously stated on an earlier review; Tony the owner does not answer or return phone calls and you have to drive to the business to get a status check. It can take weeks or months to get your order finished, Delay, delay, delay is Tony's recurring theme. I have two patio chairs for a simple fabric re do that I dropped off on 6/18/13. I've been back twice (after making unanswered phone calls) and was told that if I wanted the unfinished chairs returned I'd have to pay for the fabric! I've waited 5 weeks now. This is the third time this has happened to me at this shop. I picked the chairs up on 7/25. 5 1/2 week wait. They did an exceptional job, but very slow. Use them with this stipulation; Get a written completion date, with consequences if completion date is not met. read more

I also like that they asked me if I wanted specific trims, centering, etc because I am designer. I had my moms chairs recovered and fixed too! I was very happy with their work! My chairs look really good, and it was done in a timely manner. The people there are very friendly, especially the owners wife, and I got very good advice on the fabric to use for my chairs by Tony. One star less, because I was first told it would be done in two days (!). When I signed the contract it was all of a sudden 1 week (of course, because of the fabric delivery), then 1.5 weeks. But 1.5 weeks was still fine with me. Took in my black leather seat from my car into to this place to get it reupholstered. I had a 6 inch tear in the seat and a 3 inch tear somewhere else as well. Tony helped me out tremendously. He was very personal with me as we worked out a deal on my situation. At the end the leather seat looked great. I could tell it had been worked on but it was much needed. Only issue I had was it took 3 weeks for them to work on it since it was during Thanksgiving time. Luckily enough I wasn't hurting to drive my car since I have 2 cars. THE REAL SCOOP ON ELITE UPHOLSTERY!! While a bit more expensive than other places (you DO get what you pay for, right?) Elite's owner Tony and his crew are by far the very BEST I've found, in quality of work, unexpected value-added, and a can-do attitude to help you pick the most appropriate fabric and technique for your needs and budget. So it's a darn shame that someone recently gave them a completely unfair BAD review... OK, so maybe he miscalculated the exact amount of fabric she needed, but great upholstery is an ART, not an exact science. Besides, it can go the other way too, for example on my last job with Tony he had a small amount of fabric left over so he made me a FREE cushion with it out of the blue... I was floored! In fact, my only kvetch about them is delivery deadlines (see the art/science reference above) because they're so busy and do such remarkable work that they do get a bit behind at times.
