Edit: this is in response to the comment below. I honor the fact that you are a small family business. That being said, you are a part of a community. It is important that you know your community and you are willing to negotiate as a family business. That is what will keep your business alive. I was really excited over the reviews, saying how quick they were to get back, how reasonable their prices were, and how they were willing to work with everyone. When I asked them for a quote to re-upholster 17x20 dining room chair, they wanted to charge $75 a piece for 6 dining room chairs. No deal, no hourly rate; no negotiation whatsoever. Then they said that they would not do delivery because normally you can "unscrew" the seat of the chair. I'm sorry, but by the time I unscrew the chair and bring a bunch of those over to you with my own fabric, what am I even paying you for? This might be really reasonable for upper class people. They did say at this business that reasonable is relative and I would agree. I was not able to get my service done here because it is way too steep. They were cordial, but clearly exclusive. read more

We went here in 2019 because of the reviews. We ordered SLIPCOVERS for the cushions of our newish sofa, you know, covers to protect the fabric, in our case, from our dogs. Last year, we finally needed to clean the SLIPCOVERS. When they were removed from the sofa, to our dismay and shock, the original covers, expensive microsuede, were gone. Hillcrest claimed they did nothing wrong when we asked about replacing the discarded covers. We didn't ask for new covers for the existing cushions; we specifically asked for SLIPCOVERS. But because the word SLIPCOVERS was not on the receipt, they refused to take responsibility for throwing away our relatively new, perfectly good covers. At the very least, these covers should have been returned to us if they truly believed we only wanted new covers, rather than the SLIPCOVERS we specifically ordered. We will never return and do not recommend them to anyone else. Lesson learned: make sure everything is written on a contract and never assume anything. read more

It's been a while since I reupholstered pieces. I have a gooseneck rocker that I was never a fan of the fabric. And our previous cats really did a number on it. So I saved up and bought my favorite fabric for this special piece. The rocker was from my grandmother as a gift for having our first child. All four of my children have been rocked to sleep in it, and now my grands. My previous upholsterer from 30 years ago is no longer in business. So I gave yelp a look and Hillcrest Upholstery was extremely well recommended. They are quick to communicate which is very uncommon these days. They gave me a fair price so I decided to run with it. We brought our rocker in with the fabric, had a short consult. They let me know when it would be ready and we left. They finished it earlier than expected and it's beautiful. Found this company on Yelp. 8 dining room chairs needed minor repairs to the underside fabric and two couch seat cushions needed new foam inserts because they were sagging after several years of use. They picked up our furniture, did the requested repairs, and brought them back in a very timely fashion. After return, we thought that the new foam we had selected was not firm enough. I took the two couch cushions back to them, requested foam that was one step firmer than what we had originally selected, and asked them to redo them. Had this done within one working day. When I went back to pick them up they did not charge me for putting in the new, higher density foam even though the first foam they used was what we had selected from the options they offered. I was frankly surprised that they didn't charge for the new foam. Very happy with these folks and will definitely use them again for similar jobs. read more

Accidentally ripped my couch cover and the zipper came off. I came in to see if it could be repaired and Pedro took it back and 3 minutes later returned with the cover sewed and the zipper on good as new. This was a SUPER simple process. We sent them images of our very sad sinking couch that needed some new stuffing as well as a new sleeper mattress inside. They gave us a price with multiple options based on what we think we needed. We picked an option and gave the thumbs up. We picked a time to drop off our sofa cushions and threw out our old mattress. Process we quick, simple and they charged us the exact price they quoted in store. Parking was a bit tricky but we found a spot across the street. This may be more difficult at a later time of day. A few days later we got our cushions delivered back to us as well as a new mattress and showed up 5 minutes earlier than the anticipated delivery window which was great for us. They put the couch back in order including mattress and asked for us to test it before they left. The cushions were revived and looked brand new. All in all a 10/10. They made it super easy for us.
