I contacted Dr. Martin's office and was able to get an appointment within 2-days. During my appointment, right away I could tell Dr. Martin, M.D. was a skilled expert. She gave me a prompt diagnosis and thoroughly explained what caused the inflammation and her course of action to take care of it. She carefully injected cortisone around the cyst then gently cut an incision (tiny) to remove the fluid and buildup. The pain decreased immediately and two weeks later the inflammation subsided completely. My follow up appointment included a skin cancer screening that also went exceptionally well. If you are looking for a dermatologist who provides first-rate care then Dr. Martin, M.D. comes highly recommended. She has a great sense of humor to put you at ease and reassure you that you are in good hands.

They said they tried to call me, but got a message saying the line was no longer in service. After asking which number they tried calling it was apparent they never updated my records like I had thought. My immediate thought was "If they had cancelled the appointment three weeks ago and couldn't reach me by phone, why did they not send me a letter in the mail notifying me as well as asking me to update my contact info with them?" I asked this and the girl just looked at me dumbfounded and clueless. No apology what-so-ever for wasting my time, gas and most importantly my patience. Most recently I had another recheck scheduled (this time over two months in advance) and I missed the appointment. I do take some responsibility for this as I should have marked it in my calendar, but I am pretty irked that I didn't get a reminder phone call or even a call after I missed the appointment to make sure everything was okay. Any other doctors office I have ever gone to has always given a reminder call 24 or 48 hours prior. If not a live person then a recording which is just as good. When I called to reschedule I asked if they normally do reminder calls for appointments and the lady had this snotty tone to her voice and said no as if I had just asked her some kind of joke question. I can certainly say being a patient for 8 years, that Dermatology Specialists of Shelby has always shown and given Me wonderful care in My comprehensive skin treatment. Dermatology Specialists of Shelby started in 1981 and has been treating families and pediatric patients with the best quality care and treatments for over 40 years. They used different machines and techniques for careful skin treatments. I've only received Freeze treatment based on skin tags or moles. I had a skin lesion cut out for biopsy on my forehead temple area and it was not cancerous, being called keratosis. I am a patient with Andrea Rosik, M.S., PA-C who is board-certified giving high standards and compassion in treating Me, plus never a rushed appointment since she will explain what she thinks is important. I have seen her for freezing of skin tags or moles. Then in November for My yearly skin screening after those Summer months in the pool and outdoor in the Sun.
