You hear so many horror stories about wisdom tooth extraction , I had mine out yesterday and the doctor and his support staff were fantastic. My comfort was their main concern and they told me just what to expect. Now, one day after, there's a little soreness but it's not bad. This surgeon was very rude at the end of everything. My 7 year old daughter had a traumatic experience when this pregnant nurse kept blowing out my daughter's vain when trying twice to put in an iv and was unsuccessful. She cried in pain and he had to mock her when she was coming out of it. She cried in confusion when she said her vision was blurry and he had to mock her by saying "its because you were crying " in a smirk tone not at all trying to comfort her. So unprofessional and made me feel of anger. I told my baby "no honey its because your sleepy". I will never go back there and will never recommend this place for any child. They didn't even tell us that she would not be put to sleep by gas anesthesia for that they can put the iv without any trauma to my child. They are not up front and expect for you to just be ok with the medication they want to give your child to supposedly help the them relax and the laughing gas that was supposed to also help made it feel so much worse. Us as parents are also traumatized by the experience and lack of compassion and communication of this company. For this surgeon to openly mock my daughter's pain and confusion is not what this place needs for children . I just wanted to get her out of there. A true place of horror. read more

I am not sure if I will go here for my implant and possible sinus lift. My dentist recommended them but I am not sure for a couple of reasons. First, it started in the waiting room with loud, jungle music playing. It made me nauseous and put my nerves on edge. I was told that it couldn't be turned down because the system is all connected. Perhaps the young staff has never heard of radios. You can buy one for each room and put it at the volume and on the station that you like. Second, they automatically included the cost of prp in my estimate. I have had prp on my foot. I don't think it is worth the extra $600 but apparently patients aren't given a choice. I am going to my previous implant dentist for a consultation and see what they say. Money is definitely a consideration since I will be paying almost $6000. read more

If I could give "0" stars I would! Horrible customer service, even the office managers lack of professionalism, empathy and concerns matched her teams need for customer service training. During the consultation I was quoted one amount, and when we arrived for the surgery I was told it would be another $600. But I paid it, as my daughter desperately needed the surgery. If you read the reviews from the Gross Pointe location, this seems to be an unethical practice of theirs, and the owner uses the excuse that they're a growing company, so errors like this are basically normal! And this kind of response from an owner further explains the reason for the poor customer service and their unprofessionalism. They "claimed" that they couldn't do the surgery because she had small veins, so we were told that the surgery had to be done at a hospital. That was over two weeks ago. And I never heard anything from their office regarding rescheduling the surgery, yet they charged my credit card for the almost $2k payment. Due to Tonya's and Tammy's rudeness, lack of empathy and HORRIBLE customer service today, I requested a refund and I was told that I would NOT be getting a full refund AND I would have to wait weeks before my refund is processed!! Running away with my hard earned money is never an option, so I will be filing a claim with my credit card company, I'm submitting a case with the Better Business Bureau, I'm sending a letter the attorney generals office and I'm filing a complaint with our dental insurance company. Not everyone knows their consumer rights, but thankfully I do!! So let the legal proceedings begin! **BEFORE YOU BOOK AN APPOINTMENT WITH THIS OFFICE, do yourself a favor and read the negative reviews from their other offices...regretfully, I didn't read them until today, and now I'm paying for it!! I went to the Macomb location to have two wisdom teeth extracted as recommended and referred to by my local dentist. This place is SPOTLESS! The administration was kind and professional... and the surgery itself... was effortless on my part. They made me feel so relaxed and comfortable from start to finish even going as far as covering up the surgical tools until after I was put under. My recovery was two days with minimal bleeding. Are you high risk for COVID-19? Have you had it before and been told to do everything not to get it again? Got risk factors? Got Long COVID already? THIS is not the place for you to even consider going. The two subvariants prevalent in the US now - Omicron XBB.1.5 and XBB.1.16 - are extremely contagious, and XBB.1.16 is resulting in more hospitalizations in places where it has pushed out XBB.1.5. Before making an appointment, I verified that if requested, all staff and providers coming into the door-closed room I'd be in would wear a KN95 or N95. The staff making the appointment - very friendly and professional - went to check to "make sure we even have any in the building" and came back to the phone to assure me that she had found them and would make a note in my chart. Thank goodness they do have one staff member who cares about patient safety and infection control: the same staff called me this morning as I was getting ready for the appointment to let me know the status. It turns out that Dr Kraemer refuses to wear proper PPE to prevent airborne infection at all around high risk patients. Dentists and oral surgeons get up close and personal more than most types of health care providers - and all other providers I know and work with take precautions with patients, especially with high risk and when requested. I was told he won't wear any kind of PPE against airborne infection except "a surgical mask", which is not PPE, and is about 32% effective at filtration of viruses. In other words, if he has been infected by being maskless around maskless patients all day every day, I'd be infected too. I cancelled the appointment. Then my husband went to his files and told me that HE had cancelled an appointment there in January after the same thing happened to him. He said, "the name of the place sounded familiar but I couldn't remember from where - but that was it! The place with doctors who don't know how to take precautions for anyone!" read more

The receptionist, the dental assistant and the Dr were all very informative through the process which made me feel much more comfortable in pulling my wisdom tooth. I can't say enough wonderful things about Summit. From the moment I walked in, until the second I walked out-- I felt extremely welcomed, important, and at ease!! I have struggled with anxiety about going to the dentist for the last 15 years due to a bad experience in the past. Today was different and all of that changed. Each staff member at the front desk, the dental assistants, especially Tara, & Dr. Sclafani made me feel so calm, comfortable and confident that they would be able to help me with a pretty serious dental emergency. I went in to have all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed and I asked for them to save them so I could have them before I got put under, they said yes that's no problem, but when I got home there were no teeth in the bag. So I call up there asking if they can get them they said yes we'll call you when we get them . So I waited an entire day to hear back from them and nothing. So I call back this morning ask to talk to a manager, when I get on the phone with her she tells me that they can't do anything about it because they are already in biohazard. She said everyone knew I wanted my wisdom teeth but the lady that cleaned up the tray. They made sure to put the crown they broke off in there so I could have that put back in on a later date, but not my teeth. That's something that's not replaceable I can't go buy and create new ones and they acted like it was no big deal just an oops "unfortunately this happened before we didn't communicate with everyone." Not everyone knew. I wouldn't recommend this oral surgeon to anyone that has to be put under anesthesia because it seems like you have to make sure everyone is on the same page since they can't tell simple directions on saving someone's teeth that they wanted. read more

I needed a tooth extraction and a sinus lift. I went to Summit Oral Surgery in Macomb, choose Dr. Lehal and was delighted with the outcome. Dr. Lehal spent time with me and explained in detail what procedure he was going to use. He showed me my X-ray and explained the procedure. After the extraction, I was expecting to be sore for a few hours or days. This did not happen and I went back to work the next day.
