Health and Wellness Bars are a thing now. Consuming fresh, raw, and locally-sourced organic produce to detoxify the other parts of our 3-ring sh*t-show-of-a-life are a thing. Acai bowls topped with hemp granola, blueberries, and bee pollen are a thing now. All day energy shots with fresh orange juice, ginseng, cordyceps, msm supplement, green coffee beans, and coconut water: all "things". Citrus antioxidant juices with grapefruit, orange, pineapple, and fuji apple juice are a thing. Mexican cold brewed superfood coffee -- you guessed it -- a thing. These "things" to appreciate and savor at Vitality Tap -- like pandas playing piano, prom-date online proposals, and bikini baristas-- all things that SHOULD be things. But just because something is a "thing" doesn't mean it should be a thing. Sushi donuts, mint-filled Oreos, and BK's Cheeto Chicken Fries : things that arguably shouldn't have gotten to "thing" status {pretty sure the filling in mint Oreos is toothpaste... and... Burger King needs a new slogan - how about: "We now clean our restrooms!"}. Also: "Odor control undies" and "toddler perfume"... while somewhat practical... not necessarily things that should be a thing. Goat beauty pageants and "cats that look like Hitler" videos : definitely SHOULD NOT BE A THING (jeez - stop the Internet, I wanna get off!). Vitality Tap treated some very lucky Yelpers to a healthy and delicious Elite week and I attended this outstanding event. The friendly staff helped me to select 4 items that loaded me up with energy and tasted great. I began with their Iced Roman coffee which hit the spot on a late summer afternoon. I had big plans for a long hike in and around Torrey Pines beach so I opted for the energy shot, and boy did it work. I was beaming or the entire duration of my hike and well into the evening. The ingredients in that shot had some sort of magical power and now it is clear why this restaurant is named Vitality tap. Whoa! I had to order the undressed greens because of it's name. I like green drinks which are not too sweet and it did not disappoint. The highlight of the event for me was the almond butter Superbowl which I topped with hemp granola, blueberries and coconut flakes. I brought it to Torrey Pines Gliderport and enjoyed it with my hiking buddy. I must have looked happy while I was eating it because one lady actually approached me and asked where I got it. I have been known to enjoy a cleanse once in a while and next time I do I will be looking into ordering it at Vitality tap. Their friendly staff, clean facility, organic ingredients and delicious recipes knocked it out of the park. I agree with Leslie in that I can not believe that a couple of reviewers were not nearly as generous with their stars as Vitality Tap was to them. I enjoyed each item thoroughly as everything tasted clean, and I immediately felt the benefits. -*Detox Shot*: so good and the bite of orange at the end made me feel like I'm at the club haha..just kidding.. but really this tasted strong and yet good because I like these kind of wellness shots to begin with -*Tropical Superbowl*: I opted for 3 toppings of: granola, blueberries, and bananas! The pitaya was creamy and fresh! Bowl delight ;D -*Drop Some Beets Juice*: loved the clean taste and energy I get from from it.. I'm a big fan of beet juice, this was so perfect :) -*Mexican Cold Brew Coffee*: this tasted bold.. I love the touch of cinnamon flavor.~ Overall, I love Vitality Tap! I've gone to the mountain. I've looked over, and I've seen the promised land of Vitality Tap! Wow - VT is dishing real 100% organic, home-grown goodness. While their menu makes me feel like an amateur--chaga? lucuma? black shilajit?--every mysterious ingredient brings us all a step closer to balanced health. My Half & Half Bowl came with juicy, perfect blueberries overflowing from the top, each gently coated in liberal scoops of sweet bee pollen... fruity heavens! It's an instant favorite. In addition to the generous Elite Week offerings, we sampled the Manhattan Mocha, and I definitely recommend it as a frappuccino alternative without the sugary guilt. I'm about that VT life. We are having a lot more of the healthy events lately! Workouts, and now juicing. Are you trying to tell us something? That we've been eating too much pizza or something?! I snagged a Saturday slot for this Elite Week event, so we decided to make a late breakfast out of it. Lesley, her son Giovanni, and I set up camp outside of Vitality for our meal. The place is on the small side for seating, so I'm glad they were able to snag a table! We ordered from the very friendly and tolerant (of our indecision) staff. I had a vitamin shot, a citrus juice, and a tropical bowl. The vitamin shot tasted very healthy, with tons of greens. I prefer to eat greens, as opposed to drink them, but this was good and the orange chaser took the green edge off. The citrus juice was also good, and had an unusual kick to it with the cayenne pepper mixed in. After the bowl, I had to take a little of the juice home for later (and the cooler in the car comes in handy for that type of thing). The tropical bowl was very tasty. It was interesting that it was all blended, as opposed to the usual chunky-style acai bowl. I ordered it with coconut, hemp granola, and honey. I would sub out one of those for chunks of fruit next time. I wanted to try the Kefir soda on tap instead of coffee, but they ran out! I took the Roman coffee to go for my Mom instead. I really want to come back and try the toasts. They looked good, and there were too many choices! We got the chance to try out tons of stuff, so generous! I was also pleasantly surprised to hear that they have another location in Horton Plaza, because I have conferences there sometimes and can now rely on a healthy place for lunch or breakfast before my long meetings. Things I got: Superbowl: PROTEIN MAX - This is a blend of almond pulp, almond butter, raw almond mlik, banana, medjool dates and your choice of protein powder (I got vanilla). I topped it with cacao nibs,bee pollen and honey It was delicious and really filling! Juice: SO CITRUS - IMMUNITY KICK | ANTIOXIDANT-RICH | STRESS-RELIEF grapefruit, orange, pineapple, apple. This juice was absolutely delicious! I was pleased from start to finish as to how refreshing it was. I can see why this is stress-relief. Shooter (Elixir): DAILY VITAMIN - camu camu, goji berry, fulvic acid, vitamin d3, black shilajit, mint, lime, honey, spirulina, msm, iodine.The ingredients sounds amazing! It tasted a bit too healthy for me but it was nice to have an orange slice as a chaser. Really cute and something I'd do often since it's all perfectly sized in a shooter glass. You mean to tell me I can be healthy with just this shot? I'll do it everyday! Coffee on Nitro - I chose the roman style. The superfood coffee contains: peruvian coffee, lemongrass, goji berries, wild cherry bark, lemon zest, lemon juice, vanilla bean and honey. It sounds amazing and it tastes even better. Have you ever felt healthier drinking coffee? No? This place will make you feel that way after a sip of their coffee! I had to introduce superbowls and juicing to my husband so after today, he's hooked and is now open to the idea of having acai bowls instead of frozen yogurt or ice cream bowls. I am a coffee lover and I just want to start my review with the fact that normally, with really terrible coffee, I need lots of cream and sugar to hide the terrible taste. However, the Mexican cold brew I got today was supet smooth and absolutely delicious! I am already planning on coming back tomorrow for this yummy coffee!! This has to be one of the best cold brews I have ever had! Okay, now for the rest of the items that I was able to try... love love love! I never really understood why people love juicing and now I know! The energy shot and the drink I got was absolutely wonderful! It was so fresh and left me feeling clean and healthy. Smoothie places like Jamba always use unhealthy fillers full of sugar. However, Vitality Tap only used the best of the best fruits. I tooped my acai bowl with mangos only and I don't think I have had such sweet and delicious mangos in a really long time! Vitality Tap in Carmel Valley was a new place to me. So I was intrigued to give them a try when I was lucky enough to be selected by the North County crew to attend Elite Week at VT! A great experience to sample some of their offerings, which I did with gusto! Vitality Tap put together a fantastic and generous Event. Each YE was allowed to order four separate items, including a Superbowl (or Toast), a cold coffee drink on Nitro, an Elixir Shooter, and a Straight-up Juice from their big menu. So many choices, and so limited an appetite! I needed help... Fortunately, two of Yelp's best Elites were already, there just finishing up as I arrived - Karen N. and Leslie M. These lovely ladies were helpful in explaining the ins and outs of ordering, and even suggested I get the coffee drink to go for Mel, as I don't drink coffee. After a brief stop-and-chat, the girls went their way, and I really dug in! I opted for the Protein Max Superbowl, which came with various forms of almond, banana, dates and my choice of protein power mix-in. This was blended to perfection and then topped with three toppings of my choice. I chose coconut, cacao nibs, and goji berries. This Superbowl was outstanding and I ate every last spoonful. My second selection was the 'Drop Some Beets' Straight-Up Juice, with beet, purple cabbage, cucumber, apple, carrot, and fennel. Very tasty, but strong of beet, in case you are not a fan of beets. I am, so I enjoyed this very much! The Elixir Shooter I selected was the 'Daily Vitamin', with too many ingredients to list. Very fresh-tasting and I could feel my body heal after I had swallowed this down. For the cold brew on nitro, I brought home the 'Roman Cold Press', which I can't comment on, as it was for Mel, remember. The atmosphere at Vitality Tap was very pleasant, with lots of smiling faces and a bright and well-appointed interior. All of the normal customers seemed to be relaxed and enjoying their treats. Thanks for making me have healthy choices. I wanted to try to get there before lunch since I didn't want to drink coffee that late. They didn't have Mexican flavor on tap so I had the Roman coffee. It was pretty good but maybe I was thinking something else with nitro coffee. I was thinking of no ice and foam on top so it was different from what I've tried before. It does say cold brew on nitro so it's a different coffee I was thinking about probably. I decided to get the detox shot for my shooter. It was so good. Definitely a shot I don't mind taking! I ordered the tropical bowl with strawberries, bananas, and honey. You can't go wrong with strawberries bananas. The bowl was amazing. My favorite was the undressed greens juice. A green juice is usually not my first choice but I was glad I chose it. So healthy and so good. Color me Gobsmacked!!!!!! Wow, this was Awesome!!!! As many of you know, I am a Meat and potatoes sort of chap and the idea of Raw, Veggie and Healthy do not go with my life style. WRONG!! Vitality Tap was actually a refreshing and I (probably) needed introduction into the possibility of a different type of eating(this is written as an 11 lb brisket that will be smoked starting at 4 am rests in a home crafted rub) I ordered the Detox Shot(3 oz. Msm, cayenne pepper, coconut nectar, lemon, ginger, chaga mushrooms, moringa leaf, spirulina) the Undressed Greens(Kale, romaine, celery, green apple, cucumber, lemon, ginger) and the Everything Avocado Toast(jalapenos, onion, avocado, salt, pepper, olive oil, dressing on whole grain sourdough and a side of balsamic dressed greens). My buddy Richard showed up right after I ordered, so we spent a fair amount of time catching up and comparing thoughts. This was really unexpected. The Detox Shot was spicy, and tasty. The Undressed greens juice was surprisingly flavorful and refreshing. The Avocado Toast was amazing! Hearty, flavorful and filling. This would be a satisfying meal for just about anyone! Fresh, fresh, fresh! I can't say enough about this place. The organic bar is a great concept. They serve up all sorts of organic drinks and food. This location is great as I used to visit the other location in Downtown. The size is perfect and it is also perfectly nestled in the Carmel Valley area, which is an affluent place. With Starbucks being next door, I was surprised to see this place's line being much longer... Now I know why. Their Super Bowls, really are super. Packed with so much flavor and color. A bowl can easily be shared. Their drinks, simple, clean and so damn refreshing. The promptness of the service I received was 10 stars out of 5. The ladies were very welcoming and patient, not just with me but with the other customers as well. Happy! Vitality Tap was extremely generous to the Yelp Elite community when they offered this amazing four item experience. The deal: To start, I was offered a taste of the cold brew coffee beverages on tap. The cold brew nitro selections that Vitality Tap had were Mexican Style and Roman. I originally thought that Roman would be my choice; however, I loved the floral and spice hints of cinnamon, star anise, and vanilla. I began my taste journey with a "shot" of All Day Energy Shooter. WOWZERS!! Not a sipping beverage - I let it sit in its long shot glass and the sediments fell to the bottom of the glass. So, I suggest taking it like a shot immediately. Delicious and energizing. The All Day Energy contained the following ingredients: msm, ginseng, cordyceps, green coffee bean, fresh orange juice, coconut water. I sampled some sips of the glorious Mexican Style Cold Brew next... ...getting full... My choice of Acai Bowl was the ALMOND BUTTER selection. I indulged in the offer to choose three toppings; coconut, bee pollen, and help granola. I am used to a sweeter acai mixture, which doesn't necessarily mean that its better tasting, as I enjoyed the light flavors. The toppings were a great choice to the bowl. ...really full... "So Citrus" - So lovely! The juice was fantastic. ...so worth the fullness feeling... The staff: The owner John and his busy workers were wonderful. They understand how making these "tough decisions" can be. I was pleased with their recommendations as well as their offerings. Cleanliness, hospitality, and friendliness are all in place. The venue: This was the first time that I had ventured into this shopping center. Its quite lovely here. The craftsmanship of Vitality Tap is stellar. The lines are clean and bright with hints of wooden accents. The menu boards above the registers are really high due to the high ceilings. White tiled walls fashioned in a herringbone pattern adorned the walls. The cute bar stools matched the indoor countertops which faced the outside of the shop. Other options: The menu is quite extensive and goes beyond. They have juices and elixirs to-go, chocolates, coconut water (in the nut), cookbooks, bars, alkaline water, and prepackaged cleanses. So Imma be honest and say I don't get all the health food hype. Ok wait. I do get it but I can't say I've liked it. I'm pretty sure I was supposed to be born and bred in the South (even though I wasn't) because I like me some soul food and I never heard the terms "juicing" or "detoxing" used on The Pioneer Woman show. So I'll admit, I was a tad scared when I looked over Vitality Tap's menu and realized I didn't even know what some of the ingredients were. Fortunately for Hubby and I, the lovely gal at the counter helped us out and made helpful suggestions. I ended up with a daily vitamin shooter, a Tropical Superbowl (with toppings of granola, mango and blueberries), the So Citrus juice and a Mexican iced coffee on nitro. Vitality Tap really hooked us Yelpers out cause the spread was amazing and we ended up having to take most of our goodies home. The tropical bowl was my favorite, being naturally sweet with all the fruit, I had no problem consuming it. The vitamin shooter, which I drank first (and could not drink it like a shooter but still finished) was interesting and definitely woke me up. Hubby got the detox one with cayenne pepper and that one was a whole other story! My So Citrus juice was a good blend of tasty juices, going a bit strong on the grapefruit for a nice citrusy flavor. The coffee, I'm sorry, I don't really drink coffee and if I do, it's gotta have milk and sugar so I was having a tad bit of trouble sipping it straight up and liking it. Adding milk and sugar at home did it right though, I know that's not how it's done, but it tasted okay after that. I really enjoyed the bowl and juice and would definitely try them again. The second we walked in, we were immediately greeted by their friendly employees. The storefront itself was brand new and clean. Classic acai bowl: unsweetened acai, banana, coconut water, hemp granola, banana, and honey. I actually never had an unsweetened acai bowl before. I'm used to the sweetened ones but I was pleasantly surprised! The consistency was thick (not at all watery). I'm picky with granola and I really enjoyed theirs. The honey on top made it the perfect sweetness. Shooter (Elixir) - all day energy: msm, ginseng, cordycep, green coffee bean, fresh orange juice, and coconut water. I was scared to try this at first because shooters in my experience, tend to be gross. This was surprising tasty probably because of the orange juice and coconut water. I would recommend this one! Cold brew - Mexican style superfood coffee: Peruvian coffee, mesquite, aronia berry, cacao bean clove, vanilla, star anise, and demerara. Not a huge coffee person unless it's sweetened but this was fantastic! I really enjoyed this with no sweetener added. The flavors really shines in this drink. Juice - 20/20: carrot, celery, apple, and ginger. I was anticipating a higher "spice" taste from the ginger but the apple balanced it all out. Couldn't really taste the carrot too much. The ginger was a good amount where it was not overbearing. We work right next to Nektar Juice Bar (2 min drive) but would make the extra drive to come here instead! It's clean and new and the employees are fast and friendly. A+ for service. There is also plenty of parking! We will definitely return. read more

This was a super fun week-long event. My partner in crime and I arrived about 45 minutes before they closed, on the last day of the event. The staff was friendly, eager to explains the options, choices, and flavors. The options were endless. I enjoyed my acai bowl, detox shot, and melon juice. I gave my cold brew coffee on nitro to my partner in crime. Caffeine that late in the day keeps me up for days! Delicious and refreshing- two words to describe my trip to Vitality Tap! Such a rare treat to visit and sample some healthy juices and eats on an assigned day, but at any time I'm able to visit. Located in an affluent neighborhood in an equally upscale shopping center replete with all your go to grocery stores, shops, and eateries, Vitality Tap is just another fine addition. I don't normally go the 'green' or 'organic' route as it's purported benefits are questionable to me, but the food and drink offerings here were really something. I went for the Daily Vitamin shot, the Mocha cold brew, So Citrus 16oz. juice drink, and an Avocado Toast (to switch things up from the tried and true Acai and Pitaya bowls). I was so excited to receive the amount of food I did because I realized I was sampling a good portion of their menu. The shot was a surprise and it was just that as if I was at the club, but served with a slice of orange. Quite invigorating! Maybe I pretended it was a shot of tequila! The cold brew awarded me with extra focus for the rest of the day and the juice served as an extra refreshing addition. I went ahead and asked for all the toppings on the Avocado toast not realizing that I was agreeing to put chili flakes on it. With my very low threshold for spice, I got quite the kick in the morning! I was on fire but avocado was fresh and quite yummy as always. Such a pleasure sampling all the healthy options at Vitality Tap! The workers were extra sweet and helpful throughout the morning too. My first Yelp event and also my first Yelp Elite event. I was very excited about this beforehand after reading all about the treats being offered. I met up with my BFF Jen G. AND got to meet new friends Isabella B. and Shayne C. We were greeted warmly by the staff at Vitality, they were on top of it. Recommending favorites, very helpful and super nice. I got the Almond Butter Bowl with Hemp granola, goji berries and mango. It was VERY tasty!!!! The So Citrus juice was delicious, my Daily Vitamin Shooter and coffee on nitro....All amazing. I was excited not only to try a new place, but to discover a new shopping center that I didn't know existed. When acai started getting popular I never bothered to try anything with it because I thought it was another craze that would go away... guess not :) Since it was my first time at Vitality Tap I had a lot of questions and wanted to know what the staff recommended. Stephanie was super nice and patient with my indecisiveness. I ended up going with all of her suggestions and signing up for their free rewards program. Almond butter superbowl: a blend of unsweetened acai, banana, almond butter, almond milk with 3 toppings. They definitely don't skimp on the toppings! Almost all the bowls I saw the toppings were overflowing as evident by little pieces on the floor as people carried theirs out. I'm not sure how people finish an entire bowl. I ate a little more than half and was stuffed! It was refreshing and delicious. Be sure to ask for a top to take any leftovers home. So citrus juice: grapefruit, orange, pineapple, apple. My go to breakfast juices are usually orange or apple, so the combination of the two along with grapefruit and pineapple was an extra bonus. I would order it again on my next visit. Daily vitamin shooter: camu camu, goji berry, fulvic acid, vitamin d3, black shilajit, mint, lime, honey, spirulina, msm, iodine. I'm the type that would rather take a supplement than to try to eat more greens in my diet (terrible, I know) so the idea of the shooter was quite appealing to me. It actually wasn't that bad tasting.. my only experience with anything remotely similar is the wheatgrass shooter at Jamba Juice. Don't let it sit, it will settle, knock it back and move on :) Mexican style cold brew coffee: peruvian coffee, mesquite, aronia berry, cinnamon, cacao bean, clove, vanilla, star anise, demerara. I'm not a coffee drinker (if you couldn't tell by all my tea posts) so I was happy I could sample each of them first. The coffee right off the bat was definitely different, but not in a bad way. All the ingredients seemed to go well with each other. I would recommend getting your coffee right before you leave so it's nice and cold for your drive. First time being at a Vitality Tap and probably not last. A very well deserved 5 star rated business! This reminds me of how many other juice places used to be like. So I'm hoping that quality remains the same and doesn't diminish like other have. Love how the elite week gave not only a taster of almost everything on the menu but the actual order size! So Citrus is my favorite! My friend ordered it for her elite checkin and it turned out a different color (just proves that no two fruits are identical). Not a huge coffee drinker so can't say much on the tap. Although on Nitro basically is a fancy way of saying with cream? They sure don't skimp on the bowl toppings. Ordered the cacao nibs and it was overflowing. Thought it would only be a light sprinkle. Lastly, the shot. Had the detox shot and actually tasted delicious! Really works too! About 24 hours later. this is probably one of my favorite elite event because it's "Elite Week" and we got to go on our own time at our assigned day. I think it idea works great for those who are busy and can't make it to those Elite events that occurs on weekdays. I was so excited that this is my first elite event since i gave birth to my daughter which was back in 2015. oh man it's been so long since i went to an event and i'm so happy i got to finally attend one again and this time i got to bring my daughter along and she also really love the vitality items! she loved my So Citrus juice as well as the Tropical Superbowl. I normally don't like these types of healthy shops but Vitality Tap was really good and i was surprised i liked all the juices, shooters and the superbowl. The superbowl was packed with flavor, i love my tropical base blend: pitaya (dragronfruit), strawberries, pineapple, and bananas -- it was very refreshing indeed. I love how all the fruits were fresh and the granola gave the entire bowl texture. I really like it a lot! gives me an idea to make something like this at home too! all were very tasty and i'm so thankful for vitality tap for being so generous with giving us four items to try and they're not just sample size they are full size like it says on their menu!! Elite Weeks are better than Elite events. The Acai Bowl was great for breakfast as it filled me up through dinner and their Peruvian coffee (Mexican Style) did grow on me... I've been to this Vitality Tap before ( you can read the review if you like) and Elite Week did expose me to their new offerings in a very positive way. Way too much stuff.....If you're rollin' solo you simply couldn't consume everything Vitality Tap gave you. It was all good of course, but it would have been nice to get a free coupon for the shooter or coffee drink to be used at another time. This was such a great event! The staff here is so friendly and had so many suggestions and knowledge about the menu. This place just opened in October last year and the whole shopping center looks new. There was no line when we got there and i can see why, they serve you almost before you're done paying! The place was well staffed and the food was prepared quickly and efficiently. They gave samples of the coffee (yum!) When we got there they gave me a free chapstick from yelp and checked me right in. Vitality Tap Gives Me Wings! I flew back to San Diego on the red eye just to attend my assigned day at Elite Week at Vitality Tap. Walked in after only getting 4 hours of sleep and was overwhelmed by the fragrant perfume of fresh fruits and veggies! YUM! My first thought was "this is my kinda place"! As an Exercise Physiologist I eat clean and mean during my training week and I LOVE places like Vitality Tap that serve energizing, restorative, and nutritious food and drink! The counter guy was super nice and helpful! They have SO many awesomely yummy choices and I was so grateful to the Gods Of Yelp for taking me to this divine business! Got the vitamin shooter and BAM, no more post red eye flight hangover! The Super Bowl was positively brilliant and yummy! I washed it down with the Mango Juice and was ready to go surfing. 30 minutes later I was at Swamis with my surfboard, took a swig of Vitality Tap's Mexican Cold Brew Coffee on Nitro and caught a wave that took this Yelper on a 400+ foot ride! Vitality Tap has been on my radar for a while now. I visit Pacific Highlands Ranch shopping center at least once a week for groceries but haven't explored much of the rest of the center. The VT menu was very generous to yelpers - juices, bowls, shots and even cold brew. Well i did skip cold brew because i showed up an hour before closing time and coffee wouldn't do me any good at that time, it only would keep me up all night :) For my superbowl i went with Half and Half. Because why not try both (acai and pitaya) in the same bowl! I topped it off with more fruit and took my bowl to a small outside patio. I literally inhaled it in a couple of minutes! I was not too sweet, perfect on a hot summer evening! I took a vitamin shooter and "undressed greens" as my juice of choice, i think now it is my absolute favorite juice blend. I've been to Vitality Tap once before and it was pretty good. I am so happy I got the chance to go back. What an amazing Yelp event. I was so happy to try some new things on the menu. Everything was absolutely amazing. The staff were super friendly, helpful and accommodating. Since I arrived around 5 pm I didn't really need another coffee so she offered to give me another green juice in its place without me even asking. (So sweet) I will most definitely be coming back soon. The prices were super reasonable and the quality is top notch. Undressed Greens: 5 stars! Such a delicious juice. Slightly tart and so good. Sorry this review a wee bit late! The young women at Vitality Tap were so friendly and welcoming as I tried to narrow down all my choices. I started off with the "Daily Vitamin" shot that made me question whether or not I was getting enough vitamins in my daily diet. My taste buds were like wham! Wake up! I took the rest of the goodies home to share. Because I'm not much of a coffee drinker, I gave my dad the nitro coffee. I think it was a little too fancy for his taste buds. My dad wish it tasted more like coffee and less like some kind of funky brewed tea. Thanks for the opportunity to try it though! The tropical superbowl was sure hearty and delicious! I ate it at 9:30am and it sustained my hunger all day. I topped my bowl with cacao nibs, honey, and goji berries. My favorite treat was the so citrus juice. It was amazingly light and so refreshing. I was lucky enough to partake in Yelp Elite Week at Vitality Tap and it did not disappoint! Instructions were very clear prior to the week starting and I made sure to peruse the menu before showing up at Vitality Tap. Upon arrival, it was super easy to find parking and I was greeted right away at the counter. I received the Yelp chapstick and a letter detailing the Elite Week goodies and went straight to ordering. The gal taking my order was super friendly and helped me make the right choices by giving me explanations of some of the menu offerings. Here's what I ordered: -All day energy shot: served with an orange slice and I'll say on Sundays, I usually nap...but with this shot, I didn't have to! -Roman cold-brewed coffee: I don't drink coffee, so I gave that to my husband to enjoy -So Citrus Juice: Really tasty and refreshing juice! -Almond Butter Acai bowl topped with strawberries, granola, and honey. I thought that there would be banana slices as well, but I guess it is mixed in with the acai. It was really good though; I've only had regular acai bowls, but I really liked how it was made with almond butter; it tasted smoother! I came here for the Elite Yelp event. If you are on a health kick or looking for a place that only serves fresh, non-processed ingredients, Vitality Tap is the place to come. This what I got: 1) Classic acai bowl: comes with acai blended with coconut water topped with bananas. You get to add 3 MORE toppings to that (I went with strawberries, blueberries and granola). The acai bowl was standard size filled with fresh, healthy goodies. It was the perfect break on a hot day and very filling. 2) Cold brewed Mexican blend coffee: iced coffee with a nice kick from the added cinnamon. Very healthy given it's just coffee with ice; no added sweeteners. 3) So-citrus juice: I substituted the pineapple for cucumber and it was delightful! The juice was refreshing and tasty. 4) All day energy shot: comes in a shot glass and a small slice of orange; super refreshing and tasty The girls working there were super friendly and helpful picking the best item that fits your taste buds. There is a large parking lot so finding a spot is not an issue but it can get busy at times (avoid after school hours...there were a lot of kids coming in and out). Tried: Tropical bowl: This is one of their Super Bowl with healthy goodness. you can add up to three toppings. I got it with fresh fruit like mangos, strawberries, and honey. It was refreshing and also very fulfilling. 16 oz of pitaya, strawberry, pineapple, banana, coconut water all blended in pretty icy pink. Daily Vitamin Elixir shot: 3 oz do goodness served with, small orange wedge. Taste is blah but it sure tasted healthy Cold Brewed Coffee: they had 2 or 3 choices. Big thank you to Andy and Vitality Tap for such a generous elite event. I have to say I'm quite shocked at the number of elites who gave this event less than 5 stars. Our host gave us a tremendous amount of menu offerings to sample, all gratis. Everything was made fresh to order and the service was excellent. Being included in a elite event where you're given such great privileges surely warrants a 5 star review? I met Karen N for a mid-morning breakfast and this really hit the spot. We both decided to order the bowls. I got the Tropical bowl with blueberries, goji berries, and coconut flakes. This was a bit different in that their pitaya base has strawberries, bananas, and pineapples pre-blended into it, rather then placed into the bowl. It was tasty nonetheless. I also tried the daily vitamin shot. This was much better than other shots I've tried. I actually liked this one. Don't tell the folks at Project Juice I said that. For my juice I ordered the Melon Straight Up. It mostly tasted like carrot and cantaloupe. I couldn't taste the other ingredients to be honest. It was very fresh tasting though. For the coffee I went with the Roman cold brew. This was really good. I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did. I also ordered a pitaya smoothie for my son. These are $8, but they are made with real ingredients, not that sugary stuff they hawk at Jamba Juice. He wasn't thrilled with it at first, but after he took it home he did drink it later. Viva Vitality Tap Replenishment for the body and mind. This place celebrates the healthy lifestyle. I love juicing especially when someone else does it for you. The professionals at this Carmel Valley location know what they are doing. All ingredients are fresh and local. The store is clean, bright, full of good energy and very inviting. Thanks to Yelp North County spectacular organization skills and creativity, I was finally able to check this place out. I started off with a detox shot, that went down smooth. The mighty shot was made up of MSM, cayenne pepper, lemon, ginger, chaga mushrooms, moringa leaf and my favorite spirulina. After my shot I sipped on an energizing juice named "20/20" it is anti-inflammatory and great for liver health. It is made up of lots of celery, carrot, apple and ginger. After my juice I enjoyed a fantastic cold brew daily fix coffee while I enjoyed a generous bowl of almond butter acai mixed with lots of coconut. I can't wait to return. read more

The day before this YEE I went to Disneyland and basically ate the gamut of everything tasty but so *not* good for you. As I'm not in my 20's anymore I was feeling the after effects of a long day at the park and I struggled to get out of the house and drive all the way to Del Mar. Like the YEE at Project Juice I was excited at trying out more plant food because I'm still new to the whole concept. More specifically I never had an acai bowl (what kind of a foodie am I?) and I wanted to *finally* try one for myself. After this experience I am definitely hooked and I can see why acai bowls have a following! After placing my orders I saw a small table with three ladies with lots of drinks and bowls on the table. The only explanation was that these ladies were also fellow Yelp Elite. I got to meet Jen G., Susan M. and Shayne C. who were so nice and welcoming in letting me sit at their table! I was glad I didn't get to enjoy this meal by myself. I hope I see them at a future North or South SD YEE. I'm glad Susan got to enjoy her first YEE - as Jen said, the Yelp Elite weeks are a great way to experience the generosity of the host without being overwhelmed by the crowds. The following items were provided as part of the Elite Week. This was one of the most generous offerings I've ever seen for a health food cafe - PLENTY of food for a single person to try. My only complaint was that I couldn't finish everything in one sitting! 1. Choice of super bowl or toast - Almond butter superbowl: a blend of unsweetened acai, banana, almond butter, almond milk. For my 3 toppings I picked hemp granola, banana and honey. My first acai bowl is a variation of the classic bowl that includes almond butter. So this may not be a "pure" acai bowl but I could see why people would rave about these bowls. Short of calling it a superfood (which is JUST a marketing term) this is one of the healthiest meals you can eat. I had a good mixture of grain with fruit and I just felt satisfied without being stuffed. They put a lot of fruit and granola into the bowl. 2. A cold brew coffee on nitro - Mexican style cold brew superfood coffee poured on nitro: Peruvian coffee, mesquite, aronia berry, cinnamon, cacao bean, clove, vanilla, star anise, demerara. I got my coffee around the same time but towards the end the ice melted, diluting my coffee to the point that I couldn't drink it. I was also really full from the other three items that I got the same coffee the next day when I was ready for it and my ice wouldn't melt. Apparently other Yelpers had the same issue so staff would ask whether you want your coffee at the end. The reason why it is Mexican style coffee is due to the cinnamon and other spices in the coffee, which I developed a preference for since my former landlord started putting cinnamon in his coffee. Having it on nitro enhanced the spices and my coffee never got watered down. 3. An elixir shooter - Detox shot: msm (sic), cayenne pepper, lemon, chug, black shilajit, moringa leaf, spirulina. So I did a Google search for msm, chug, black shilajit, morinaga leaf and spirulina. "Chug" got me nowhere as there were more references to the verb chug as opposed to any noun much less a supplement. What I came across was a LOT of alternative medicine sites prove the other four ingredients have a lot of antioxidant properties and two of them, morinaga leaf and spirulina have additional nutritive properties. I'm very skeptical of these properties but at least the shot made me less tired. With the pepper and lemon it didn't taste as bad as I thought. Orange slices make good shooters. 4. Choice of a 16 oz juice - Undressed Greens: kale, romaine, celery, green apple, cucumber, lemon, ginger. A very "healthy" tasting drink made more drinkable by lemon and ginger. As I love ginger drinks a good mix was all that my drink needed and I was able to drink everything. It was light and crisp. Ginger masked all the greens that would make the drink bitter. I heard a lot of good things about Vitality Tap and thanks to Andy, Tanya and Vitality Tap I was able to try it out for myself. On their 2nd visit the next day I also got to sample their smoothies as well as try out a toast. I love every single smoothie they served. For now this is my go-to place for smoothies and acai bowls. The Melon Straight Up at Vitality Tap is exactly like drinking a cantaloupe...very refreshing. It has a subtle, pleasant after-taste of fresh sweet carrot. It's a beautiful color, almost like drinking the sunrise. Vitality Tap generously let me choose 4 items to try for Elite Week at Vitality Tap. They are in the Carmel Valley area of North County. I also chose the Almond Butter Super Bowl, which included 3 toppings. I chose almonds, blueberries and cacao nibs. Acai, banana, almond butter and almond milk are already included in this bowl. Yum, this bowl was my favorite item, as it's loaded with fresh healthy ingredients, and yet it's not too sweet at all. The Mexican Style Cold Brew is a Peruvian coffee poured on nitro. I can taste the vanilla, cinnamon and cacao bean. It has an interesting flavor, although I prefer my coffee a little stronger. There are healthy ingredients added to this coffee, such as Aronia Berry, a Super Food. The Detox Shot was green and tart. I took a couple sips and decided that was enough detoxifying for one visit. Fresh smelling vegetables and fruits enter your nose as soon as you walk in this place. This immediately gets your taste buds flowing and ready for great flavors. I went with a Tropical Bowl and added granola, coconut, and honey. I got the Daily Energy Shot which came with a slice of orange that my daughter scarfed. Their Mexican Coffee has a unique flavor that is amazing if you have never had it. I also took some swigs of a 16oz Citrus Juice. I would order everything again besides the Energy Shot. Staff here is extremely friendly and they are accommodating to any questions asked. You can even order a growler and drink out of glasses. You have to make sure you speak up when the juicer is in use because it's hard to hear yourself when it's running. We scored a seat out front and got to people watch. There are 2 tables out front as well as a couple benches out to the right. The tables out front seat 4. This is a great area and it was a pleasure being able to try what Vitality Tap has to offer. Popped my 2016 Yelp Elite Event (YEE) cherry with some oh so good 'Vitality Tap' !!! This event was in my neck of the woods so you know I was all up on this !!! So many highlights and positive things to note ! Ambiance/setting: * Located at a shopping center in fancy shmancy Pacific Highlands Center. It's near other awesome places like Trader Joe's and Crunch Fitness. * Plenty of parking available on a Sunday afternoon. * The interior of the business is quite small with not much seating, but there is outdoor seating available. We opted for that. * The interior is bright, open, and welcoming !!! I was digging it. I love places like this. I'm all about health and nutrition and I immediately got that vibe so I was stoked ! Customer service: * We were greeted with smiles by the friendly staff. I even got to chit-chat with one of the gals about their business and products. She seemed very knowledgeable. I appreciate employees who are enthusuastic about their job and take pride in what they do. * We were the only ones there at the time, so we got lucky and there wasn't much of a wait. Everything came in a timely manner considering we had a bunch of treats and everything was made to order ! No pre-makes here and everything is organically sourced ! Oh yeah ! Love love love this place! Such a great deal for elite week. I can't believe all the goodies we received! For starters, this place is located in the up and coming neighborhood of Carmel Valley. New, cute, and very "healthy" oriented. There's a huge gym next door so we noticed all the women who came by where still in their gym clothes. Food: I ordered a "Super Bowl" which was a blend of pitaya, strawberries, pineapple and banana and added hemp granola with honey and coconut flakes. It was SO good. I think this is my new fav. For the juice I ordered the "Undressed Greens" which was a healthy blend of fruits and veggies. Also very refreshing. I couldn't order a nitro coffee since I'm pregnant and the gal offered me a Kiefer soda- Berry blast. Check out the picture! It's pink :).
