Awesome service and quick turnaround! My out of warranty MacBook Pro decided to contort when the battery started rapidly expanding and blew out the track pad. I called Apple Support and they said it would take two weeks to get an appointment. The day of my Apple Store appointment I had to wait for 3 hours to have the darn thing checked. Please note the store is open only M-F from 10-6pm and the repair takes ~4-6 hours to complete. I use my laptop for work, therefore I am somewhat limited to work during the repair times. It turns out that they gave me a faulty screen. I then had to then return a 2nd time to redo the entire process (4-6 hours out of my day and had limited access to work). To my surprise, the 2nd screen they gave was also defective! The screen glitches and the borders are corroding and bleeding into the main part of the screen (Please see pictures). I was very unhappy. This place is awesome. My Macbook Pro suddenly shut down - huge battery / charging issues - and I took it to the Apple Store in Pasadena for repairs. They saw some oil on my shift key (because I'm uhhh a slightly messy eater) and took it into the back to open it up... and then came back and reported that there was liquid damage which wasn't covered by my AppleCare warranty, and to fix the issue it would cost $750... like holy shit. I was a little sus about this because I was pretty sure the issue was around much longer than any food that might have gotten on the keys. So I said I'd "think about it" and immediately did some scouting for other places to get a second opinion, and finally came to EliteMacTechs that same day because they said they'd do a free diagnosis within 24 hours. Not only did they report that after disassembling and reassembling the laptop to find the problem they concluded that there was no liquid damage after all (fuck you Apple.... fuck you so much), but they were able to turn on my laptop - probably just by taking out the battery and putting it back in. When I expressed further concerns that it was an intermittent issue, they ran an overnight stress test. Plus, this entire thing was totally free. It's obviously an easy fix, and that's why it was free of charge, but I think this experience speaks to the store's great service and expertise in general. They were clear and upfront about the ways they could help, and informative about other resources in case they couldn't. While I guess technically this review isn't about getting my MacBook Pro repaired, but the customer service I received from EliteMacTechs over e-mail was top notch. Sadly, it seems like one of the USB ports from my 2011 MacBook Pro is giving out. I tried resetting the PRAM and SMC but those had no effect so it's probably a hardware issue. :( I e-mailed EliteMacTechs for advice and an estimate and Nathan replied quickly, honestly, and in an extremely friendly manner. He informed me that the logic board would probably need replacing which would cost about $200-300. However, instead of pushing me for it, he suggested that a more cost effective alternative would be to use a USB hub with the lone working port. One of the best finds in the world is an honest repairman because obviously, if I was that knowledgeable about what I'm trying to fix, I would fix it myself. After a free diagnosis, Nathan explained he'd have to repair/replace the logic board for $250 ... and convinced me it simply wasn't worth it. So, I asked if he had any laptops available for purchase, and I bought a refurbished 2016 15" MacBook Pro at the very reasonable price of less than $1,400. There was no hard sell. In fact, Nathan didn't even bring up the fact that he had one available. I had to ask! After the purchase, he didn't rush me.
