Working from home has been rough. So when my Apple laptop battery died while the local store was closed, I was APPALLED to learn from Apple that it was going to be a 2+ week turnaround to get my computer back. Not working for 2 weeks wasn't an option for me. Since my laptop isn't under warranty anyway, I called TechEase to see if they could replace the battery, the answer was yes, AND I could get in their work queue without having to part with my laptop. I got a call the night before they were ready for it to give me a head's up so I could wrap any projects I was working on. All in all, I only "lost" 5 hours of work time for the repair, instead of 2 WEEKS. They even backed up my data for me prior to working on it just in case (it cost $25, but totally worth it because I'm lazy about backups). I had my laptop within 5 hours of dropping it off, with instructions (taped to my outside of my laptop) telling me how to properly drain/charge the battery before full usage. They were super nice, courteous, and speedy. AND I was much happier to spend my money to support a LOCAL business, rather than give my money to Apple again. So if your Apple computer/laptop needs help, I'd definitely recommend calling these guys before heading down to the Apple Store. read more

I called last week to get a quote to replace the power jack in my laptop as it has become so loose that I can hardly charge my laptop anymore. I was appalled when I was told it would probably cost $250 dollars as it was not more than $100 to replace it several years ago. I was then told it may be less but that they needed to physically look at my laptop and that I could make an appointment. I made an appointment and once I arrived I was asked to leave my laptop and provide a password and come back in 45 minutes. I can't believe this is how they do business. Who has time for this? I didn't want a diagnosis. I only wanted to know what the repair would cost before I left my laptop with them and found the whole experience to be a total waste of my time. read more

Had a virus on my laptop. I also needed an update to Office. Anna was very helpful in setting a drop off appointment. The laptop was fixed in two days. However, probably do to the tech working remotely the Office was not installed. I called Anna and the next day the tech called and he installed it remotely with no labor charge. 1. I had to do a lot of jumping through hoops to get a person to talk to fix my new WF-7720 printer. The software still is not right I am still getting a application not found." and Epson technical support can't fix it. 2. I need to be able to scan to emails and their Epson technical support could not fix it. So I had to hire a technical support guy to see what was going on. Because EPSON dose not know its own product. It cost me $70.00 and I just needed type some numbers on Epson for my email. It took three days and hours on the phone with Epson and still they could not fix anything. 3. The bad thing is for, the most part I like Epson printers. I had my other Epson printer for a long time. I just don't like the Epson technical support and I had to spend $150.00 to get a BRAND NEW WF-7720 all in one printer to work. This is an all in one printer it says it can do a lot, but I don't know if it can really do all that is says....I only had it for a week now. Thank you Eric G. for fixing the problem. zz read more

Realizing that they were not solving my problem, yet spending prodigious time trying, I decided to try someone else. Unfortunately, they can't tell customers when work will be completed, since there's no way to know how long work will take. I have no problem with this. Our printer wasn't working and I had to get an urgent document out and one of our computers wouldn't start. I called in the morning and dave was there in the afternoon. Past experience was great. Told them I had a bad DVD Drive and they replaced it. This time I told them multiple things my computer was doing and that they had a 9 day vacation window to fix it. 12 days and $60 later my laptop computer still takes 4 minutes to boot up, doesn't come out of hibernation at times and has the USB ports stop working. Their last evaluation (no repair done) was a total waste of time and money. Looks like I'm back to the "Geek Squad". read more
