Thank you to all the staff of Arden Courts/ Chagrin Falls!…read more After scouring Cleveland (and its' surrounding areas) for a Memory Care facility, we were fortunate and blessed to discover Arden Courts/ Chagrin Falls. The challenge was finding a facility that would not just "house" Mom, but one that would comfort her, engage her, make her feel independent and safe, a loving environment with a friendly and caring "community" of compassionate people, a place she would comfortably call home. Arden Courts Has proved to be like no other facility we've experienced. Never did we think Mom would be comfortable in a "locked" environment. With Arden Courts unique architectural design, Mom is free to independently walk around through courtyards and gardens leaving and reentering at will. Never does she feel cloistered or overwhelmed by "institution" like hallways and corridors. Loud noises from the hustle and bustle of large number of residents and visitors simply does not exist. Arden Courts/ Chagrin Falls is respectful, dignified. The principals and aids are trained expertly at what they do. They know and understand what residents and family are having to go through. With sincerest compassion they guided us through ( what was extremely difficult) the emotional and physical realities of the transition. Day and night we were updated and advised through the moving process. They were so right - all the worry and panic we had was unnecessary. Simply amazing. Never Thought we would get to this point. We are calm and confident Mom resides in the best possible facility of its kind. We visit often with pleasure! She is happy at long last and we are grateful for our new peace of mind. When the client has dementia and lives on the east side, I feel that there is no better facility for me to recommend to our families than Arden Courts. The staff is personable, knowledgeable and compassionate and I have watched them take in a new resident and bring comfort and peace of mind to overwhelmed and frazzled family members. The Arden Courts philosophy really honors the personhood of the individual with dementia by not so much focusing on what's been taken away, but rather on what remains.

I used to work at the restaurant called radius and sometimes in the bistro. As a waitress. At first it was great money and the hardest part was remembering the members names and preferences. But, there are many cons to working there and for me they eventually outweighed the pros. The schedule you are given isn't really up for debate. There are so few servers that they absolutely need you and no one can cover when you are sick really. Which sucks for the rest of the servers left there because then things get hectic. Also, you pretty much can expect to be forced to work Sunday mornings, Christmas, Easter and thanksgiving. Even if I absolutely had to call off they really didn't take no for an answer. My biggest problem is corporate. They have no idea how a restaurant runs and how many employees you need or how to pay them. Many times my check was messed up and they ended up blaming it on us saying we didn't keep track of our tips right so we owed them money. I was forced to give them $900 at one point. They also ended up taking away tips because we were making too much money. So now it's hourly. My thought process was, if they expect me to work holidays (which are the busiest ever. So hectic.) I'd like to be tipped. I got very unmotivated because I used to make so much money on holidays and now that they pay hourly i was doing 20 times more work for the same pay. I also noticed my pay check never seemed to add up to the hourly they said they were paying me. I swear it was minimum wage. They ended up messing up my check 3 times and I said I would quit after the 3rd time. And that's what I did. Besides that the food there is great lol

My very elderly mom has been at Hamlet since 2021. Until recently, Mom has been pretty healthy, so even though she pays for "all inclusive" care she hasn't needed anything but meds until after she came back from rehab for a fall injury. We have private care companions with her, and the owner of the company reviewed all the companion records and said, Mom had no showers for approximately the first three weeks she was back. Certainly, she got a raging UTI (E coli), and it certainly is possible that lack of bathing either caused it or contributed to it. Reporting to nursing staff did nothing because as of March 5 (over 2 weeks later) her care companions state that Mom had no shower for that time period either. The care companions state that mom was showered once, the day of the first complaint. This was again reported to nursing who of course denied it and this time responded by an aid forcing Mom to have a sponge bath in cold water despite mom's loud protests that she was so very cold. (Apparently her hot water heater was malfunctioning which they would have known if they had been bathing her in the first place.) Fortunately the care companion walked in and stopped it. She reported what she witnessed to nursing management. After it was reported nursing management never followed up with the family to report that mom had been given the proper care-- a warm shower she very much needed and they are contractually obligated to provide-- probably because it didn't happen. I sent a very critical email the next day registering a complaint that no follow up was done to see that mom was cared for and then communicated back to us. That said, transportation is great at Hamlet--a wonderful group of guys. The activity people are also really good. But when the resident needs basic care, it's pretty awful. Lots of other issues I didn't even get into. They have a new memory unit, and while I can't attest to it personally, word on the street is that the memory care unit is even worse.

The large room and hallway was clean and smelled nice. Residents were greeters. Many residents walked or were shuttled to the performance. The shuttle driver seemed very attentive to the elderly passengers who used walkers. I saw several wheel chairs at the concert.
