I've been going here since my 8 year old was born now I have an 8 year old a 6 year old and a 4 month old !! All taken care of by this lovely woman when my middle child at 4 weeks wasn't gaining weight dr avaricio throughly checked my son with multiple scales to make sure nothing was wrong before sending me to the ER when we went to the hospital it was shown my son had a thick lining around his belly that prevented him from keeping his milk down ! He had to get surgery and after that she called the hospital every chance she got even in the middle of the night to check on my baby and his progress !! I recently moved to Brooklyn 3 years ago and I travel to Dr avaricio faithfully something u just don't change and Dr avaricio is someone u don't change !! We are coming to this doctor's office so many years. Before our doctor was Fabio Mehrgut MD, now its Elizabeth Avaricio Md. We both adore them and especially Dr Avaricio is so caring and helpful. Keep in mind that this is a very busy office, make sure come on time and keep your appointment. Even though there is always long waits, but worth to wait. Because, Dr Avaricio will make sure you have been taking care of. Also if you have any problems and leave a message, she will return your call even at night. read more

Dr. Avaricio is a very friendly doctor. Appointments do not feel rushed. The office is clean. However, I have had various issues with her practice. When making calls regarding my sick child during the pandemic, office staff informed me to continue monitoring my child, or take her to the ER if symptoms progressed. The doctor never came to the phone. When asked for a call back from the doctor, I was told that that Avaricio is telling all parents to monitor their children, and take them into the hospital if symptoms progressed. This was during the pandemic, late 2020 to early 2021. Secondly issue, at her office all recommended vaccines are mandatory. If you intend to follow a delayed vaccine schedule, here is not for you, this practice is not for you. She was pleasant with providing lists of other pediatricians who are open to delayed vaccinations. Third, there was no patient education given. You will have to advocate for your child(ren). She does answer questions if you go in with a list of questions or concerns. read more

She is a part of our family, my family and I are being grateful to have such an amazing pediatrician that monitors both of our children's well being. I took my daughter to this office and the place did not have enough medical supply to able to run the test to my daughter. So I pay my copayment of 30 dollars basically for nothing. the visit was a waste of time .. after that I had to run to an urgent care to run the test and also paid another fee this time $50. It turns out my daughter had the flu virus. so before attending this office think twice. Going here was a completely waste of time . Never again will I come here. read more

The office, staff, and the Doctor seemed nice enough besides having to wait 90 minutes for a scheduled appointment. But come to find out months later that my children were not given basic vaccinations mandated by the DOE to continue attending school. Dr. Avarisio has been my kids doctor for about 20 years now. Most recently with my 8 year old son, she takes the time to spend with us and explain what is wrong with him. I trust everything she has done for us. her staff is helpful and very patient with us. The wait sometimes might be long but its well worth it. My son has been seeing Dr Avaricio for the past 7 years. She is gentle and compassionate and will do whatever she can to make him feel at ease. If I call her service even during the middle of the night with an emergency I always get a call back within a few minutes. I could not think of a better doctor to be taking care of him. read more

Dr. Avaricio is excellent. She was recommended to me by a neighbor and I'm glad we selected her. We interviewed her while I was pregnant and she seemed very nice. My son is now 5 months old and he's seen her since he was born. She has an absolutely amazing bedside manner and is very engaged with my son. Her compassion and care can be felt when she talks to you. She has 3 small children of her own and can easily relate to the concerns of the parent. I have gone in for several last minute visits, called multiple times and even called her after hours once. She is always very patient and understanding. My son loves her and smiles and coos whenever he sees her. She is very knowledgable and is open to my thoughts even if it doesn't follow the 'norm'. She answers all of my questions and I never feel rushed. Her office has a healthy and sick side so the children are separated and the staff is very friendly. You can tell everyone that works there really care about their work and their children which is great. I would highly recommend her. read more

The woman who drew blood yanked my baby's legs down the table very roughly and left welts on the arms from holding down so tight. The welts were still red and swollen hours after the appt. I'm so angry. They were unnecessarily rough. I will not be returning. I like Dr. Avaricio but it is not worth it to see your child be treated like that. the front desk is absolutely horrible.they treat you like pigs. absolutely disgusted by your office. the doctor is great but the receptionist and assistant absolutely horrible. u shouldnt be working in a office if you cant handle it . the phelebotomist doesnt know how to do her job !!! she had fraking 6 inch acrylic nails on while tryna do blood. like wtf is wrong with all your staff in tis office ??????????? you desevre a very low grading for ur office crew and yourself. disgusted to the max and on top of that you charge $350.00 to get a medical relase record so i can take my child somewhere else ??? you guys are absolutely sick in the head i swear. please seek another job if you cant do the one ur doing right now . i will never step foot in here again read more

I'll start with the bad and end with the good. The wait to see Dr. Avaricio is absolutely ridiculous! I've been there 3 times and I've waited over 90 mins each time to see her. I am not sure why their time management is so bad but I find it unacceptable, especially since I'm there with an infant who is getting fussy, sleepy, hungry, etc. I am hoping this is not a regular occurrence but the heat was also not working on a 3 degree day outside. My poor child was wrapped up in a fleece onesie, blanket, hat, etc. to stay warm. They didn't even put a portable heater outside for the patients, especially the kids. With all that said however, Dr. Avaricio is a wonderful doctor! Once she finally appears in your room, she takes her time with answering questions, does research on medications you may be wondering about, and makes you feel comfortable. I've been coming to this office since 1996. Dr. Grilli trained Dr. Mehrgut, both experts who trained Dr. Avaricio. Saw them all. All affiliated with L.I.J. Used to be excellent. Now Avaricio only comes in 1 day a week, you cannot get a Dr. on the phone. Cannot get refills to medications for asthma. Staff has no knowledge on getting vitals at the time of visit. It is not that personable doctor we parents/grand parents came to know. Its nothing more than a visit to a clinic which lasts more than 2-3 hrs. be prepared to be there a long time to get student doctor care. read more

Went here based on good reviews and 5 stars. My first impression was good. The two receptionist at front desks were pleasant. Waiting room was clean and spacious. All the staff nurses/assistants are young woman who all seemed pleasant and friendly. We was greeted with smiles from all. The assistant introduced herself when I told her it's our first time and explained to me on their whole process and gave me all the Drs contact info Which I can call anytime if needed. which I especially liked. The dr herself was very pleasant and friendly. She was thorough and My 5yr old felt comfortable with her and liked her which was most important to me. They also have another section on other side for the real sick children so their not in contact with General population. read more

The place is terrible. My girlfriend and I came here for an appointment at 3:15PM, which we confirmed with one on the woman at the front desk. We waited for about two hours until I finally went up to the desk to ask how much longer it would take. I was told we'd be next after, one more patient, and I went back to sit down. After 30 minutes and four other patients going in, I went back to ask the front desk once again. When I went up the woman was very rude and said the appointment we had was double booked and was scheduled at 2:45PM. She some how got all this information without me even telling her the name under the appointment, so she was just making things up, which was very irritating. My girlfriend is slowly beginning to feel worse and worse and none of these people are of any help, or even at the least simply nice. We're still here and waiting, pray for us if you read this we may still be here at this rate. read more

Dr. Avaricio was not imputing all vaccines of my son into the NYC CIR as she is required by law to do. When asked about the concern from another medical doctor her reply was "I can not confirm or deny." When it comes to children that's not an answer a parent wants to hear. It's a yes I apologize or a no let me double check my records.The doctor has neglected to answer any of my phone calls regarding this incident along with previous attempts to speak with the doctor. As a medical professional sworn to care for patients and exercise their duties without prejudice and with upmost professionalism this has been gravely neglected to be performed. To date the doctor has neglected to call me back concerning the health and welfare of my son and will no longer be attending this practice. NYS DOH and the medical conduct review board are investigating the doctors actions deeming the misconduct unethical. If I could give no stars I would. read more

She is kind, caring, excellent bedside manners, patient and I trust her 100% with my children's care. She cut me off multiple times and seemed annoyed that my child was crying during the shots. The people working there are usually okay, but were unfriendly and rude. Dr. Avaricio is an excellent Pediatrician. She is professional, well knowledgable in her field of expertise and works very long hours. She has lots of patients which explains why sometimes she is not able to respond right away but she applies good judgement as to urgent vs non-urgent matters. She was recommended by a friend and she's been my son's pediatrician since birth (he's now 2). As first time parents my husband and I had lots of questions and concerns since our child had multiple obstacles after birth, Dr. Avaricio worked with us and helped my son and us successfully overcome all of them. Our son is thriving well and I want to say a big thank you to Dr. Avaricio. Her staff for the most part are friendly and diligent. The reason for a 4 star is because one staff member couldn't find my son's vein while drawing blood once and poked him up which made me furious but I did request that she never takes his blood again. I'm not sure if she still works there so employees can definitely use improvement. As for the Dr. she is wonderful. read more
