It appears that office have four doctors same time which is surprisingly good because you can get a cross opinion from another doctor right away. All doctors are very well trained and experienced, very confident and I should say that we are blessed that we find pediatric office of doctor Dr. Khaimov. All medical staff is professional and polite, they knows exactly what needs to be done and how to accomplish it meaning how to make patients happy. They really do provide outstanding service. I want to add that Dr. Khaimov is very thorough and will give you answers. He makes sure you leave there content. Highly recommend him! On same note I read a few reviews of some patiens.... It's so sorrow, I have a message for unhappy parents - Dear Parents, if you weren't happy for whatever reason in Dr. Khaimov office maybe you shouldn't be there, common people, you providing ridiculous reasons such as , why I have to pay co-payment? Or why we were waiting for half an hour or forty minutes? Or my baby keep crying after flu shot, especially dumb complains such as "nurses and doctors don't know what they are doing". I have a question to this parent - how you can judge knowledge of doctor? You gays are spoiled. Dr. Khaimov is amazing doctor, he is doctor by God's touch and his colleagues as well. I also have a 2-year-old who is currently a patient at this pediatric practice. For many years, I have loved coming here because the medical care has always been excellent. Unfortunately, my experience with the administrative staff has become increasingly disappointing. They are often discourteous and lack basic customer service skills. During my most recent interaction, one staff member repeatedly talked over me and would not allow me to explain my concern. When I politely asked for the opportunity to speak, she hung up the phone on me. It's unfortunate because the quality of care provided by the doctors and medical staff has always been outstanding, but the front office experience has significantly impacted my overall impression of the practice. I hope management addresses these concerns, as families deserve to be treated with the same respect and professionalism that the medical team provides.

Our not-yet-born baby had an arrhythmia, with suspected PAC (or premature atrial contraction) at…read morethe 20 week ultrasound, and so we were referred to Village Pediatric Cardiology. My midwife highly recommended the practice, and said that she had good relationships with the doctors there and that they were not alarmists. I read up on PAC and apparently it's benign 99% of the time, so I wasn't too worried. We went to Village Pediatric Cardiology for a more detailed, heart-focused ultrasound at 21 weeks. The initial exam was about 30 minutes, and the nurse technician was friendly and competent. Once the scan had been done, Dr. Matthew Martinez came in and said that there was no trace of arrythmia - BUT - there was a mild case of "mitral valve regurgitation." Dr. Martinez showed me the video scan of the flow of blood in my peanut's heart and explained the physiology of the condition. I was unprepared for this news, know nothing at all about cardiology, and was kind of in a rush, so I basically asked him what was next, and what this diagnosis meant. He said he wanted to see me in two weeks to see if the regurgitation was the same, or if it had gotten worse. He said it was possible that I would lose the baby. I made sure I knew the exact name of the condition so I could Google it later, scheduled the follow-up, and left. Unfortunately the Google follow-up was NOT reassuring. There really isn't anything much on the web about the exact diagnosis of MILD cases of mitral valve regurgitation in fetuses. My guess is this may be to do with the fact that ultrasound scanning and techniques have only recently become good enough to diagnose it? In any case, when I went to my midwife the next day I was a mess. Fortunately she was very reassuring, and mentioned the condition could clear up on its own, and said I had a healthy baby. I tried unsuccessfully not to worry, followed my husband's advice of no more Googling for now, and went back in two weeks with my husband and with questions prepared - including questions that weren't diagnosis-specific, just in case (i.e. what research is available on the prognosis for this condition? What is your own personal clinical experience of this condition?) Again, the nurse technician was friendly and competent. And then Dr. Martinez came back with the news - all good. No arrhythmia, no PAC, no mitral valve regurgitation. All-clear low risk pregnancy, and no need to see him again unless the arrhythmia came back. What a relief!! For all other parents out there whose kiddos have heart problems, my heart goes out to you. Good luck!!

They seem to do everything backwards. Rather than have a doctor take a look at the patient before…read moresubjecting them to an EKG and echocardiogram, the doctors don't even take a look before running these procedures. This is the case even if the patient isn't presenting any symptoms of cardiac issues and is there only out of preponderance of caution. While that might not be so much of a problem for adult patients, this is a pediatrics practice and babies can get very stressed out while these are done. It seems to me that it would be much better for the patients if the doctor took a look to make sure that these procedures are necessary before running them. Seems to me that they are interested first and foremost in billing the insurance company for all that they can, with the patient's welfare coming in a distant second. The staff is also pretty bad, we had to correct our child's information multiple times and they usually didn't understand what we were trying to tell them even when it was a quite simple.

I started bringing my eldest daughter to Dr. Calagos in November of 2015,and we haven't turned back. Dr. Calagos is caring, informative, and very willing to answer any and all questions. She genuinely cares about children and their health. I ask a lot of questions but I never felt like I was bothering her. My first couple of years there I did have some serious issues with one of the front desk staff, she was just very rude and unprofessional. However, it seems like she is no longer working there and the front desk staff is great! Isidra is always so helpful. I now bring my two children here, and I am very happy with them. Sometimes their is a wait but they are always willing to accommodate last minute schedule changes, so I totally understand. Will continue to come here as long as I live in the area.

One time my daughter's basic data wouldn't even show up in their system. Last week I brought my daughter's school form for the doctor to sign, and I go to pick it up after a week, and they can't find it. They have misplaced the form even though I had explicitly asked them not to lose it when I dropped it off. What's worse, the exact same thing happened last year. It really boggles my mind how a doctor's office can be so bad at basic filing system. It seems they just don't care about patients, which is disappointing. Pls improve.

Dr. Reischer has been our pediatrician since our son was born a couple of months ago. I think Kristin L. put it best as he's not "overly jovial, but not a curmudegon" doctor either. He may not be everyone's cup of tea but think he's really great. He is really professional and really cares about his patients. Our kid had his first shots last week and Dr. Reischer explained each one of the vaccines he was getting, showed us the bottles, and their expiration dates. My wife and I really appreciated that. He was also very fast with all three shots! The wait times can be long as we kind of experienced last week but when you're popular, you're popular. Receptionist (Maria) is great too!

He's always patient and, except for rare busy stretches, always available other than Sabbath. Even in off hours, he provides his pager number for emergencies. Note that he is pretty old school, so some of his methods may not be what you read about in the latest baby books. But this is a doctor who has probably treated a whole public school's worth of children, so while you may not agree and may sometimes deviate from what he recommends, you know you are getting at least solid advice. He's always wears a baseball cap! His receptionists are super friendly and I always have had good experiences. Appointments are easy to make and wait times tend not to be too long. My one wish is that he would (1) hire a nurse to do the needles as my baby now associates him with needles and cries whenever he comes in and (2) he'd have a separate aware for sick kids and kids going in for wellness checks. I also wish the facilities can be nicer, but hey, it's Forest Hills. One tip is that if he is not available for whatever reason and you have urgent needs, I would supplement with the Forest Hills Urgent Care center that is nearby. Dr. Reischer is a sole practitioner so this will happen from time to time.

We moved all our 3 kids' pediatrician over to Dr. Sverkunova to save 1h driving every visit also…read moresince the front office of that old one, Manhattan Pediatrics (see my review over there in zip 11220) and we are so glad we did. The superior administration, billing, reply rate, and cautious medical advice are all peace of mind. Dr. Sverkunova has indeed excellent bedside manner as do all her tech and admin staff. The careful happy attitude puts our kids at ease. They have the full set of vaccines on hand and are very astute at taking blood in a way kids enjoy. Their attitude is the kids' attitude, as in such affairs. Intake since we were 3 new patients took a bit, but their professionalism pairs well with mine with the note about how the insurer failed to change the PCP despite my telling them to do so 3mos ago so we got that solved together. Then the rest, the immunization pull-up from the city, the inputting and comparison of prior medical records from that old awful pediatrician (who I'm surprised could or would even send the medical records), and overall EMR syncing all were done finely. The physical space is very cramped so thankfully only 3 families are in the waiting room at once with most patients sanely waiting outside and the doctors rooms are also quite small but that's ok since time spent in there is efficient and minimum. Maintenance and sanitary quality are all tops with very clean, cared for surfaces, important in such times. The quality of the medical care is the best and for that, we are so happy to be with Dr. Sverkunova and staff.
