I'm in the Navy, I am a Florida resident, college student, I have a rental house in Virginia, a house in California, a day trading account, and a small business. Don't come here. They lie and they cheat. Staff are very unprofessional and the receptionists don't speak English. If you get in trouble they will never help you fix what they've done wrong. They help you get refund so they can maximize their fees. You can get better service pretty much anywhere else. read more

I don't know what has happened to this company in the last 4 years. From the review last posted in…read more2019 there has been no reviews. Well, I have a real honest review about the entity. We hired Ladel Financial to do our bookkeeping and tax preparation. We don't use this company anymore, after meeting another financial company and seeing how much money we were losing from the lack of knowledge their staff has. Our new company was able to reamend our taxes and get us money back. We have not been with Ladel financial for over a year but we are now receiving notices from Social Security regarding incorrect wage reports submitted by Ladel Financial at the time. I have politely contacted the owner Alejandro Lara several times requesting his assistance because they have copies submitted for that time. He replied once, 3 weeks ago saying he will look into it and call me back in a day or two. I have written several emails to him asking him to at least reply to me. Nothing!!! No answer from his office. And if you try to call, there is no live person to answer the phone. He has ghosted us! Don't use a company you can't reach by phone or email. They half ass their work leaving clients to fend for themselves after they submit incorrect information to the IRS and Social Security. I even heard the accountant that was assigned to our account at the time, quit Ladel Financial because of their lack of professionalism. Beware this company.

Every employee that he has on his payroll has all had the same issues therefore he never has a stable staffing to fulfill a contract. Companies looking for a qualified and professional protection agency beware. Furthermore I became aware that he is neither licensed or insured to operate as a security company in the District of Columbia (DC), Washington making his company illegitimate to operate as a protection service. If I could give negative stars I would. Vaughn Alexander presents himself as a professional, but in all actuality you'll learn the meaning of messy business.

I have been a client of this practice for several years. Everything had gone smoothly until this…read moreyear. I sent in all of my paperwork by March 19th, just after their deadline to have taxes submitted by April 15. No problem, they filed an extension for me. I followed up in April, and again in July to check on status... and received no reply. I called later in July, to see if I could speak with Alice (our accountant at the firm) directly. I tried a few times to reach her and on August 27 received an email informing me that Alice was no longer with the firm but that Ami would be handling our taxes. There was no other notice - not a note from Alice letting us know she was leaving, nor any sort of apology for the long lapse in communication. Ami then did our taxes and sent a link to review them. The numbers looked good, but she messed up the names on the return. I reached out to have her fix them. Silence. After multiple attempts, I finally got someone who was able to fix the names. I went to review the return and the refund amounts were now different by several thousand dollars. I politely inquired and was told this is due to a 529 plan distribution which they had somehow forgotten to include when they did the taxes earlier. They didn't have any receipts for offsetting expenses, so assumed there were none, and didn't bother to ask. It took a few tries to get that fixed, but they did. They then tried to submit my taxes electronically, but they input the wrong PIN numbers. The correct PINs were in the initial correspondence that I had sent them that included all of my relevant tax information. They were called out in a separate paragraph of my cover letter to the accountant. I re-provided the PINs over the phone and the IRS accepted the files, so I'm now hoping that it's all good. I am not a happy customer. I pay an accountant to do my taxes because they're supposed to keep things straight. In fact, the normal process to institute an internal controls program in any business is to hire accountants to make sure that things are properly - what's the word? oh... yeah... - accounted for. This firm couldn't communicate what was happening with their internal processes, and then made careless mistakes and oversights, and couldn't communicate with me about my taxes. And for the record - we had a mess of deductions, and the amount of the refund was sufficient that each month our tax filing was delayed cost us roughly $300 in interest. I've not seen any offer of recompense. I'm definitely not trusting this firm with my accounting going forward.

The CPA practice has transitioned from a small number of people working in the Rockville office to an expanded practice under the umbrella of George Dimov, located in New York City. Throughout the transition, when we have had a question or concern, someone has always responded in a timely and positive way. Some of our investment statements are always delivered late in the first quarter. Usually, Watter CPA has been able to upload all our data except those pieces, so that they could be entered quickly, allowing us to file by April 15. When that last investment data is delivered to us too late, Watter CPA smoothly files an extension for us. The Rockville staff is courteous and efficient. Courtland (in the front office) knows us as returned clients and we are totally comfortable trusting her to follow through with any and every communication. This year was the first time that Mitchell prepared our taxes and it was clear that he understood our rather complicated income tax profile, expertly applying every credit we could have and taking the time to clearly explain the answers to every question. I've been lied to about a call being made when it obviously wasn't; my address was incorrectly entered for the IRS and after 14 years they called to verify my information. They also used to be $150 and now they are $250 - while the quality went from $150 to $15. You constantly have to chase them; you have to follow up; you have to email; you have to call. Something needed? Be ready to email 3 times and call on top of it. I honestly don't understand how these guys are still in business. I can tell by the stars that this 5* establishment is now barely able to cling to a 3* average. I deal with these guys once a year and it stresses me out for the whole 12 months. I might as well use TurboTax.

Parking is tricky (temporarily) because of the construction. The parking garage across the street you will need a metro card or credit no cash, the street parking is available during certain hours on Viers Mill side. The Wheaton Mall is across too. I recommend.

I don't think they know what they are doing at this office. I ended up having to take my tax returns to a tax attorney. They sometimes do not answer the phone when you call, so just be weary. This is mostly a Spanish speaking office. I speak Spanish but for anyone who doesn't, don't waste your time. read more
