I was later informed that full-time employees were being prioritized, but this was not clearly communicated to me before I made changes to my own availability. They never once mentioned that me changing my status of employment would hinder my ability to take my State CNA certification. In addition, I had concerns regarding the cleanliness of the facility during my time there. The way staff communication and correction is handled did not reflect a supportive or well-structured environment in my experience. I also observed situations that made me question whether resident care was being consistently handled with the level of attention and professionalism expected in a care setting. Overall, the lack of transparency, organization, and consistency made the experience very difficult. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this program.

In one office visit I had a nurse practitioner and a doctor exam me and get to the bottom of my issue. I am so thankful to him and his staff for the relief and sleep I got after leaving his office. I've been twice now and saw Dr Bayer who was thorough, knowledgeable and CARING! We spent quite a while discussing treatment options for different issues. He ordered a bone scan and within days had me on medication to regrow bones. Today I went on a Sunday, was seen by Audrey a NP who was every bit as professional and caring! My experience at Marshall Medical North on June 19th was extremely alarming and put my health at…read moreserious risk. I was evaluated during my first visit that late morning/early afternoon and was told to return immediately if my condition worsened. Later that same day, my symptoms became significantly worse, so I returned as instructed. During this second visit, the physician on duty did not come into the room, did not examine me, did not reassess my symptoms, and did not repeat labs despite clear deterioration. The medical record from that second visit states that an exam was performed and that I was "in no distress." This is not accurate. I was sitting on the side of the bed actively vomiting, in severe pain, and visibly unwell. My blood pressure at discharge was 90/43. After being discharged in that condition, I traveled to a hospital in Birmingham, where I was immediately admitted with acute kidney injury and infection. I remained hospitalized from June 19th to June 23rd and required urgent surgery on June 22nd to remove the obstructing stone once the infection and kidney injury were stabilized. I have filed formal grievances with both the hospital and my insurance provider regarding the care I received during the second visit. Based on what happened to me, I cannot recommend this ER and would not feel safe returning. However, I do want to acknowledge that the initial doctor I saw, Dr. John Alves, was outstanding. He acted quickly, ordered the appropriate tests, and made sure I received pain relief. I truly appreciate his care and professionalism. I only wish he had still been on duty when I returned in worsening condition.

I've been in the waiting room for more than 2 hours with a possible blood clot in my leg with the pain steadily increasing and the dizziness increasing in waves along with being cold and hot randomly. Now they don't have any beds. I literally could've been driven to the Birmingham VA hospital and had this figured out by now but came here under recommendation of its possible severity. If I could rate zero stars I would. After finally getting to the back, the staff was very polite. They asked about my experience in the front and apologized for the treatment. They were fast and efficient.

My Mom and I had a very unpleasant quarterly Ear Cleaning Appointment with Dr. Trotter, MD, today…read morethat left us quite disturbed because of the long wait time, and being subjected to other patients in the waiting area not wearing masks to control the spread of potential Covid-19 in the waiting area. My Mom is 89 years old. Her appointment was originally scheduled for 11:00 AM, on 23 February 2021. I received a call from Dr. Trotter's Office as a reminder of the upcoming visit on 22 February and also told that her appointment had been moved up to 10:30 AM. The result was that she was actually seen at 12:10 PM (almost 2 hours later). What made the situation worse, there were patients in the waiting area without wearing masks, which could have exposed my Mom to potentially catch Covid -19 from these persons - not acceptable! Instead of enforcing the State of Alabama mask mandate, these unmasked persons were actually seen by Dr. Trotter which subjected his staff to the possible spread if this virus (even though the staff were all wearing masks while we were there). When I confronted Dr. Trotter on these issues, I was told that Dr. Trotter that he takes great pride in taking his time with his patients and, if we were upset with his explanation of how he runs his operation, then we should not schedule to be seen by his office going forward. Dr. Trotter attempted to make recommendations for her to see another doctor but, their office is located in Boaz, AL - over 45 minutes away. This experience was totally unacceptable for my Mom and her various ailments. Needless to say, we did not stay with Dr. Trotter and signed a form to get a copy of my Mom's medical records so we could present to the next ENT professional we select for my Mom. Overall, a very disappointing appointment and overall experience.
