Past the park and onto the boardwalk- there is plenty of unique wildlife to see- herons, seagulls, and star fish! The beach is rocky but easy to navigate and a great place to throw or collect rocks. This is truly a great walk for playing with toddlers, having a picnic or enjoying a walk.

This lovely little enclave in the Silver Beach neighborhood feels almost hidden! Apparently it was gifted to the city as a park, and thank goodness because it's truly a gem. Full of meandering paths, sculptures, and water features, it was the perfect spot for a quick little walk amongst the shade of the towering cedar and fir trees. There were also benches for sitting and pondering. Can't wait to come back again!

Theres a small parking lot for about 8 or so cars and it wasn't busy on the weekend I went. European outdoor art exhibits inspired this artist to start his own sculpture garden. There definitely could be a lot more art but theres statues tucked away in small paths that you have to meander through so take your time exploring. It's a cute neighborhood attraction and if you're around it's worth checking out but I wouldn't recommend going out of the way to visit. Dogs are not allowed.

When I lived there, it was one of my favorite places to go on a sunny day, just to take in the sights and breathe some fresh sea air. Recently, we gathered here for a Mother's Day picnic, where we spread our blankets on the ground underneath the trees, flew kites, and enjoyed some major people watching on a perfect, sunny day. From our vantage point we could also see boats out on the bay - it was magical! I wouldn't complain too loudly if they added a few more picnic tables to this park. But other than that, it's pretty fun to visit. Bonus for the clean public restrooms (located in the boathouse building)!

So we went to the lake. This lake was located right around the corner from our Airbnb. Its very easy to find and if you get here early enough there is lots of parking. We just brought our towels and swim suits and picked a spot on the grass near the sand. It was a very sunny day out in Washington. The kids headed right out and walked out to the floating decks. They were able to jump off and swim around. They had so much fun. We were here all day. They have a small snack shack with limited options. We got ice cream at some point. Then suddenly the kids and my husband decided that they wanted to take a paddle boat out into the lake. I had no interest. They had a good time. I personally thought it was too windy and at some point my husband had jump out and swim push the boat back to the shore. He made sure to let the people working that they should warn people that the wind may make it very hard to paddle back to shore. All in all it was a fantastic afternoon. The kids wanted to come back again but our trip was cut short and the time we did have didn't account for a second visit. Not sure we will ever be back again but we would if we could.

I'm really glad I did though, this park is incredible. So many things for kids of all ages! Lots of fun structures for tag, lots of slides, lots of interesting toys you don't see many places. The beach park section of Larrabee park is gorgeous. There's ample parking, then a decent that's…read moreabout a 45 second walk to a grassy lawn and a beautiful stage built in the early 1900s. There were people performing music on the stage and park goers enjoying on the grass. Just to the left of the stage there's a path to the beach. Another 2-3 minute descent brings you to a trail going left and right. The path to the left is a short trail to a rock you can sit on and climb down to get to the water. Further that way there's another beach. The path to the right leads to a nice beach with a great view and a shade tree. There were some bugs in the washed up kelp, but nothing too bothersome imho. We had a stand up paddleboard so we used the path on the right after the stage area. I would recommend anyone bringing gear down (scuba, kayaks, paddleboards) to use this beach. Larger crafts can use the boat ramp just north of this beach, and you can drive right up to that ramp (north of the stage and parking area). It was a beautiful park and a great place to picnic, enjoy the water, and view the sunset!

Trying to get my camera out in time while still in my car, I got one blurry picture before it scurried off. Grabbing my bag and getting out of my car, I noticed something new to me, a black squirrel. It was on the ground foraging. I took a few pictures and a video and then said hello out loud. It came to attention and started making its way towards me. Eventually, it came to sit on a curb by my car and looked at me, letting me take an up-close picture. After the click it continued on. Exploring the park on foot, I found walkers, runners, foraging gray squirrels, and foraging black squirrels. Walking paths through the trees were gravel and relatively flat near the parking area. Gray squirrels towards the entrance of the park were shelling felled chestnuts and carrying them away. A black squirrel or two ran past with a peanut, not sure from where. Sunlight broke through the canopy of the trees, lighting up the leaves and spots of ground.

I love all the little hidden parks in Bellingham, but Cornwall takes the cake. You don't realize…read morehow expansive this park is until you're in it. There are several different entrances into the park from all surrounding streets. The trails connect all the entrances, but the roads do not connect though. Cornwall park has pickleball courts, tennis courts, basketball courts, frisbee golf, a wading fountain, fields to play in, trails to run on AND MORE! Every time I walk my dogs here, I find new trails and features I haven't seen before. It is well maintained and has a ton of parking within the park so you don't have to walk far. I would recommend pulling up a map if you are looking to get to a specific part of the park for the first time!
