I had a couture mermaid-style wedding dress that needed to be made smaller, and some tulle bits added here and there for more coverage and comfort. I bought the dress from Bridal's by Lori in Atlanta and was worried about finding the right seamstress here in the Triad. Elizabeth listened, pinned, made helpful suggestions, and delivered on time. It took just two fittings to make it perfect, and she offered to make additional adjustments if my weight changed before the wedding. I dropped a dress off to be hemmed on a Saturday and was told to come back the next Friday. When I arrived it was not done and she said to come back at 4. Well I was going out of town and wouldn't be back until Tuesday. She said to come anytime on Tuesday. When I showed up I find out they are l closed on Tuesday. I go back on Wednesday and to my surprise it still wasn't done. She has had the dress over a week. I was not able to come back as I drive 45 minutes to get there and I was on my lunch break. She advised she could have it done in 30 minutes. I went back in 30 minutes and she tried telling me that it had been ready all along. I will start with saying how surprised I am that Elizabeth's has so many positive reviews and no negative reviews. Seems very odd since my experience with Elizabeth has been less than professional in how she runs her business and the quality of her alteration work. . She doesn't return calls; I left numerous messages and she failed to return my calls. I just happened to find my dress ready & hanging behind the desk when I took friend to have outfit made. (another unprofessional experience) When I tried on my dress it still didn't fit right and Elizabeth made it worse. Where she altered the dress it quite visible and the seams aren't even even on each side, one seam is longer than the other side and right on each side of zipper and oddly placed. The beautiful sleeve cuffs are ruined because each have 2 visible, oddly placed seams where she attempted to make make smaller. I paid Elizabeth good money to alter an already expensive designer dress. My daughter's wedding is in October in Washington DC where she lives. I am going to have to now travel to DC to have my daughter's alteration place attempt to correct what Elizabeth did to my dress or have to be out $800 and buy another dress. I regards to my friend, Elizabeth had 6 weeks to make an evening pants suit for my friends son's wedding that is July 1st. When I took my friend today for final fitting that had been arranged by Elizabeth by phone the week before. We get to the shop had to wait because Elizabeth was running late just to be told the outfit hadn't even been made!!! She said she had trouble with the sleeve fabric but this was a choice Elizabeth made to change the sleeve fabric without consulting with my friend. When I asked if my friend could at least try on the pants; just to find out those had yet to be made! Understand it's 2 weeks until this wedding and NO outfit though Elizabeth has had 6 weeks to make this outfit. Not once did she ever call my friend to communicate with her!!! I am so sorry that I recommend Elizabeth to my friend! I had seen a story on the news about Elizabeth and thought she must be go. I read reviews and those seemed positive. None of this lines up with my 2 experiences with her. I am writing this in middle of night because I am worried. Will my friend get a beautiful outfit from Elizabeth before the wedding? My friend is a very petite lady so last minute off the rack isn't going to work if Elizabeth does't come through and Elizabeth was paid $350 to make this outfit and wanted her money paid in full before any work was done in both work requests!!! read more

If i could give her 0 stars I would! Please do not use Elizabeth's alterations. She is a rip off, liar unorganized and honestly out right terrible person for doing what she does to brides. She started out very promising following a bad experience previously at a different shop. I was recommended to her by my bridal boutique whom told me she could do exactly what they said to my wedding gown since they work side by side and she used to own it. I went in she looked at my dress told me what needed to be done and then took me back to look at beads and ideas for what to do. I left feeling confident. This was the beginning of March. She said she would call me the beginning of April to come back in to make sure I liked what she was doing. April came and no call. I called her she booked me an appointment for Saturday May 28th. I show up on May 28th to find a note on the door saying they were closed and would not be back until the following week (keep in mind this place is not close to our house). I called her and she tried to say that she called everyone the previous day but when I read her the text between us for the appointment she said that she forgot to write me down when she made the appointment and asked me to come in the following week. I of course nicely told her it was fine I understood and I would see her then. Well that Wednesday comes along and I decided to call her to be sure that it was ready... she first off checked the wrong dress and said oh yea it's ready but then when I said my name again at a later time in the conversation told me no my dress is not ready (this was at lunch time the day that i had scheduled to pick up my finished dress at 5pm) I told her that i could come Friday. I show up Friday like scheduled to a dress that had only some beading around the neck line and some sequins. She promised beading throughout the top and down through the back along with sequins. We paid her upfront and she did not even do 50 percent of what we paid for. She also created two big runs in the back of the shear backing of the dress that she said she would cover with lace. That was not covered when i arrived to pick it up. So fast forward another week because that's what she said she needed and here we are again in the same position. I arrive to pick up my completed dress and the dress is again not complete with barely any additions. The only thing this woman added was HOT GLUED SEQUINS... HOT GLUED SEQUINS ON A 3,000 dollar dress. The previous sequins had been sewed on but these were HOT GLUED. I didn't notice this upon taking it because i was in such a panic because i needed my dress for my portraits in 3 days! Which she knew about months before! I ended up picking up my dress the next day because the lace again was not put over the runs in my dress. So after about 6 times of going to this woman's shop I leave with my dress. I show up for my bridals, the photographer unbustles my dress to find out that Elizabeth has made 4 very noticeable loops on my train that do not pull through so they are very visible. She then tells me i need to have that fixed because it will be very noticeable on the day of and that a professional should have never done this. My train is a big deal with this dress and she literally has ruined it with big noticeable loops on it! So needless to say.... Elizabeth promised hand sewn beads and sequins and the woman HOT GLUED THEM ON. My dress was never ready when she said it would be and still isn't and never had anything done until the day that I was coming. She is not reliable and I want to save other brides the money and stress so please do not recommend her to anyone or ever go to her for bridal alterations. read more

Ms. Elizabeth is the absolute best! She alters all of my garments, but better than that she custom makes my dresses! I've had her custom make dresses for my photoshoots and they have turned out gorgeous. She is a pleasure to work with and has a great turn-around time. If you need fancy lace work or beaded embroidery done, Ms. Elizabeth is the lady to see! It's no secret why she's the best in the biz for wedding dress alterations, but she's also offers custom tuxedos and is amazing at mensware alterations. Oh my word! Do not ever go anywhere else in Greensboro. If she is not on your side of town, so what. She was not on my side of the country but I would never have trusted anyone else with my wedding dress! I am from NC and found my wedding dress back home last summer. I took the recommendation of the boutique where I purchased the dress for their alterations and also my sister which were the same ELIZABETH'S! I came home for three fittings and each one was quick easy and precise! She always knows the right things to do to make you look amazing in whatever you are wearing and is so confident! My mother also made her original wedding dress into my rehearsal dinner dress and thought my mother really stepped up her game to make my dress amazing, Elizabeth immediately praised my mother for her work and finished the job exactly what we were missing!
