Lee's Tailors on Western Boulevard is hands-down the best tailoring experience I've had in Raleigh. Ping (the owner) is incredible, and Karen and Anna are both wonderful as well. They're all patient, skilled, and genuinely kind. I go in fairly often for tailoring and repairs, and they are always welcoming and willing to listen carefully while I figure out exactly what I want done. Today really stood out. I brought back a pair of pants that had been hemmed and looked great, but just didn't feel comfortable when I wore them. I was worried I was asking too much since I'd already been in a few times about these pants, but Ping couldn't have been more understanding. She insisted on letting them back out while I was there, even though it was near closing time. She also noticed a jacket I had and tightened the buttons on that too--again, on the spot. She was so kind, accommodating, and generous with her time, and she wouldn't even let me pay. That level of care and customer service is rare. Ping truly stands behind her work and wants her customers to be comfortable and happy. If you're looking for expert tailoring with exceptional service, Lee's Tailors is the place. I've come here three times and every time I've come, I've had to bring items back to be fixed because either items were too tight, straps were sewn crooked, etc. After my last visit, I've decided not to come back or get things altered, especially jeans. I had a pair that I had to bring back 3 times. I originally brought them in because the waist was too big, and each time I picked them up, they were too tight. I still haven't been able to wear the jeans at all. I also wasn't properly given options on how to fix a gaping waistband. They ultimately took in the whole seat of the jeans, which created a terrible line of stitch in the back which was obvious. I wasn't aware until I looked into on my own that all they needed to do were darts at the waistband to prevent that. It's also terribly expensive, just for it to not be good and not be able to wear the items. My dress traps were over 20$ and the jeans' waist is over 20$. Doesn't make sense. read more

Absolutely Amazing Experience at Lee's Tailor Shop! I want to share the incredible service I received here. My daughter's prom dress was ordered online, but when it arrived, it was the wrong size. I panicked and started calling tailors, but everyone was fully booked--except this shop, which was three hours away. They guaranteed they could fix it. Without hesitation, I threw the dress in the car, told my very upset prom queen to get in, and said, "It's going to be okay." When we arrived, we were seen immediately. The staff was warm, helpful, and truly family-oriented. We left to grab something to eat while they worked on the dress, and when we came back--we were amazed. My daughter tried on the dress... and it was PERFECT! I was nervous, but the result exceeded all expectations. The owner and the entire team were amazing. They even offered us water for the long drive back to Richmond, VA, and made sure we felt welcomed and taken care of. This was my first visit.The pants needed to be shortened.They were returned to me at the accurate length . But the actual hem was not done as a running thread.It was done as discrete short lengths around the circumference . Result? The Hem has come undone. The patchy nature of the hem allows the shoe to easily catch the adjacent un-hemmed part and pull it down. I now need to go back and do a running hem myself . 3 stars because : The work was done on time The Intake person was friendly and did a good job marking the length. read more

I Polo Jacket still in good shape but the arms were long and the back was short. I had the arms shortened and new plastic bands in the cuff area. It is actually L/XL and they fixed the proportions perfectly. I will use Lee tailors again I really like the service. read more

I have been a loyal fan of Lee's Tailors since I moved to my home close to this location it 2005. They did all my wedding gown cleaning & fittings. Ping has taken fabric we bought to make custom curtains, seat cushions, pillows & screen tri-folds to beautify our home! I bring every new bathing suit to her to sew in the breast pads so they aren't folding in & moving around. All my work suits & trousers look amazing because Lees does such an incredible job tailoring. I recommend them to everyone. This past week they exceeded my expectations when I brought in my elderly family member who needed his suit fitted. Very friendly and busy shop. I would have preferred the repair work been a little more delicate. They took care of rip in the pants but I thought it could have been disguised it a little better. If I had been repairing a tent , then ok but it was a 1/2 rip. You will pay in advance which I completely understand because it's a small business. The upside is, they give a quick turn around. Lee is a pretty common Chinese surname so there are multiple Lee's Tailors in this area! I'm pretty sure this place might be a one-off separate from a small chain by the same name. Does that make sense? This Lee's Tailors is located in an odd spot off of Western Blvd. Sort of in the same plaza as Harris Teeter and Planet Fitness but in a side part of the plaza. Go up a steep hill and the storefront is hidden by a large row of hedges (they should probably cut these... :-) Inside Lee's it's tailor-made for alterations. Four changing rooms on the left, mirrored alterations area for your wedding gown, back room with sewing machines for the real work. I just need to get a pair of pants hemmed which is $8 and several days but I wasn't in any particular hurry. Lee's Tailors seems pretty popular so you might want to visit in off times but there's a good reason why. They do excellent alteration work at reasonable prices.
