Tatiana is amazing, she's straight forward and kind. I truly enjoyed working with her. I was terrified trusting someone else with my dress and the price to alter it. I felt like The prices at Provas were extremely fair. When I heard from the bridal shop what the average alteration price was I was shocked, flabbergasted and anxious. Tatiana calmed my nerves, she wasn't forceful with trying to upsell on services. For my wedding dress I asked her to hem the front, I'm 5'2" and the dress was a bit long. My dress has openings and I told her I'd like a nude covering so I wasn't so "naked"; she found the shade that worked for my skin tone and added it to the inside of my dress. Lastly, we added a simple bustle so I could keep my "train" but not trip over it after pictures were complete. She also has a few custom pieces in her shop, this woman has TALENT! Highly recommend Tatiana! She is incredible to work with and so talented! She did the alterations on my wedding dress in September. I had to order a very large size to accommodate my chest so there was a lot of dress to take in around the waist and length to remove. She added additional boning in the corset for support, added a silk layer to the sheer skirt, and made a few additional tweaks to the dress so when we hemmed it the top of the leg slit would sit right on my frame. It was important to me that I could move around easily so we tested it out with different movements and she pulled the inside lining up so I wouldn't trip. If there was an option to rate above 5 stars, Tatiana would deserve it! My wedding was back in October of 2021, I had a satin and lace, long sleeve, trumpet gown. I pulled the classic bridal move of "I'm getting married this year so let's drop 30 pounds AFTER buying my dress" ‍ I needed a lot of adjustments for this dress to not make me look frumpy. Facts about Tatiana: 1) She is a no bologna kind of woman. She tells it to you how it is and I very much respected that. If she doesn't think a certain adjustment will flatter you or that it would be a good move, she's going to let you know. Not in a judgy way but in a "I've done this a million times, trust me" kind of way. 2. She has decades of experience in high fashion with some of the worlds top designers. She actually went to school for this. THIS WOMAN CAN DO ANYTHING you want done almost with her eyes closed. I had her carefully remove pearls and lace from my mother's dress and incorporate it into mine. Her attention to detail and respect for the sentiment I was trying to accomplish literally brought tears to my eyes. And she didn't even cut into my mother's dress to remove the appliqué! 3. She is a worker queen bee! This woman is BUSY and organized. This job is her passion. She not only altered my bridal gown, she also altered my rehearsal dress, two of my mother's dresses, my junior bridesmaid and my maid of honor's dresses. In less than 2 months! 4. Tatiana saved my wedding day. I ordered a dress off Etsy that turned out to be a disaster. She completely restructured the dress to match the vision I was hoping for. The dress had two layers -- a sheer top layer with a flower print and a darker layer on the bottom. She made me a whole new bottom layer in a champagne color (rather than the brown color the dress came with), and turned the top into a corset to fit my bust. And she did all of this within 3 weeks to meet my wedding deadline. It ended up being the perfect color, and the perfect fit. Highly recommend! read more

Firstly I want to say Tatiana is a very skilled seamstress and she will take care of you for a very fair price! She also works quickly and efficiently. Awesome. Thats where the good things end unfortunately. The reason for this rating is because she did not wear a mask once during my multiple visits. This is supposed to be a place of business. No covid protocols whatsoever. The proper thing to do nowadays is wear a mask until there is consent to take it off! I assumed it was just a slip of her mind so I decided to let it go. I later found out it was not, as she continued to not wear one during my multiple visits. During my first consultation she also berated me for attempting to make some minor and easily reversible alterations to my own gown and laughed in my face. I have been sewing gowns and costumes for 10 years but was not able to take on a ballgown in my one bedroom apt, hence why I went here. To make things short: Not so professional to embarrass your clients and put them in danger because you refuse to wear a mask. Will not be coming back. read more

I had my bridesmaid dress hemmed and Tatiana also suggested using the leftover fabric to make capped sleeves. It was a brilliant solution to hiding my straps and it looks great. I found Provas Couture by chance after I picked up my dress from New York Bride & Groom after a bad experience that I had there. I had lost significantly more weight since purchasing my dress in April and, because New York Bride & Groom had treated me so terribly, I was looking for another tailor/seamstress that could alter my dress for my wedding this past Saturday. Tatiana took a dress that was 2 sizes too big, square in shape, and lacking character, and turned it into the most beautiful gown I have ever seen. It fit like a glove and made me feel like a princess. Tatiana traded in the way too big belt that had originally came with the dress and placed a thinner one in its place. She brought out some of the lace so that it flowed onto my shoulders rather than abruptly stopping at my shoulders. She added something into the bust of the dress which made me feel beautiful. Tatiana has been such a help throughout the whole thing and contributed to my amazing and special day. She is one of the kindest, most genuine, and most talented women I have ever met. I decided to give this Tailor shop a try because of Tatiana's good reviews, and she stayed open a little later than other places. I dropped my dress off with her for the first fitting March 25th, and I noticed she didn't have a mask on. She did ask if she had to wear one around me, and I said yes. I left the dress after the first fitting. Tatiana agreed to have the dress ready for second try on (final) within a week that Friday April 2nd. I received two emails and two text messages stating the time and date for my second try on April 2nd. When I arrived for my second fitting and to take my dress home, she looked shocked that I was even there and didn't seem to know who I was. I told her that I'm here for my appointment and to pick up my dress. I asked her why wasn't she prepared for my appointment if she sent me so many notices to confirm. She claimed that she has no idea when the computer sends the confirmation appointments which is a worthless reminder if you aren't even sure when your customers are scheduled. She went to the back to get the dress and came out saying that the dress wasn't finish and that she needed 20 more minutes. I was shocked that she was able to finish altering a maid of honor dress that quickly. She then came out and said that she realized that she needed more time and scheduled me for the next day (Saturday April 3rd). I told her I needed to dress on that Sunday April 4th. I was happy with the alterations until she mentioned that there were stains on the back of my dress. She then blamed the stains on me(asking if my hands were wet because of the chiffon material). When she realize that I knew for sure that I didn't cause the oil stains, she then blamed the dress shop from where I bought it from. I took before pics of my dress right before I dropped it off at her shop. Tatiana later apologized and gave me the refund for the alterations. She ruined my maid of honor dress and never offered to fix the dress or buy an entire new dress considering it wasn't ready the wedding. I Have asked multiple times how she plans on handling it, and she never responded. I took the dress to the cleaners, and they were actually able to remove the stains but of course it was too late... No offer was made to pay for the dress that was not ready on April 2nd (or 4th for event) or even for the cleaners bill. Tatiana, I'm very disappointed, and I'm still waiting on your decision on how to resolve things. read more

Two weeks ago I tried on my wedding dress, just under 4 weeks from my wedding date. I then proceeded to have a meltdown, as I felt that it did NOT look right.... I had no clue what to do! I didn't think there would be enough time to fix the issues I saw. I started desperately searching for a seamstress who I thought would be able to give me some advice. I called Tatiana at provas couture and from that moment my nightmare began to fade. Tatiana scheduled an appointment for me that day! After trying on my dress for her I began to explain the things that I didn't think looked perfect. I started with the fact that I could fit both of my hands in between my back and the dress. I was told "No problem, I will take it in an inch around the zipper." She pinned it up for me and immedidately made the dress more flattering. I continued to explain that the intricate lace bottom was a little long and she explained how she could take it up two inches in the front so that I would be able to walk comfortably without taking away from the beauty of the lace. The other two issues she said she could also easily fix. I then nervously waited to hear how long she thought it would take and was wonderfully shocked when she said it would be done in a week! I picked up my dress on Wednesday and was absolutely in love with the work Tatiana did. Aside from it looking a million times better, you wouldn't have even been able to tell that any work had been done on it. I would recommend her to anyone in need of a seamstress in the area.
