Highly recommend Tatiana! She is incredible to work with and so talented! She did the alterations on my wedding dress in September. I had to order a very large size to accommodate my chest so there was a lot of dress to take in around the waist and length to remove. She added additional boning in the corset for support, added a silk layer to the sheer skirt, and made a few additional tweaks to the dress so when we hemmed it the top of the leg slit would sit right on my frame. It was important to me that I could move around easily so we tested it out with different movements and she pulled the inside lining up so I wouldn't trip. She's a dream to work with and is very busy so call ahead and book your appointment early!

If there was an option to rate above 5 stars, Tatiana would deserve it! My wedding was back in October of 2021, I had a satin and lace, long sleeve, trumpet gown. I pulled the classic bridal move of "I'm getting married this year so let's drop 30 pounds AFTER buying my dress" ‍ I needed a lot of adjustments for this dress to not make me look frumpy. Facts about Tatiana: 1) She is a no bologna kind of woman. She tells it to you how it is and I very much respected that. If she doesn't think a certain adjustment will flatter you or that it would be a good move, she's going to let you know. Not in a judgy way but in a "I've done this a million times, trust me" kind of way. 2. She has decades of experience in high fashion with some of the worlds top designers. She actually went to school for this. THIS WOMAN CAN DO ANYTHING you want done almost with her eyes closed. I had her carefully remove pearls and lace from my mother's dress and incorporate it into mine. Her attention to detail and respect for the sentiment I was trying to accomplish literally brought tears to my eyes. And she didn't even cut into my mother's dress to remove the appliqué! 3. She is a worker queen bee! This woman is BUSY and organized. This job is her passion. She not only altered my bridal gown, she also altered my rehearsal dress, two of my mother's dresses, my junior bridesmaid and my maid of honor's dresses. In less than 2 months! 4. Out of all the countries and cities she has lived and had businesses in, we are so lucky she chose Raleigh, NC to settle down! And I am grateful to have had her as part of my wedding experience

Found Tatiana through Yelp, and couldn't be more grateful. She perfectly altered the dress to my body. She was meticulous and adjusted when I wanted to make changes. She is a very hard worker that completed each step in a timely manner. I felt so beautiful on my wedding day!

Amazing experience! Tatiana was able to help me get my dress altered within a short time frame and it came out looking stunning and fit perfectly. I couldn't be happier with the results and our wedding photos are beautiful as a result.

Not worth the price. Very frustrating experience making my husband's tuxedo for the wedding. The…read moretuxedo did not fit well. Caroline was unhelpful and quite rude when we asked for changes. The process was custom to the extent you can change the color of the buttons but when it comes to the actual fit of the tux (the most important part) it felt like there were templates that they stuck to and anything outside of that to make the tux actually look tailored to the person was too much to ask.

The business model is similar to Indochino, but the Alton Lane experience is far superior. Caroline is the main point of contact and knows their sizing and products like the back of her hand - she is knowledgeable but not pushy. Since she's the main point of contact, you won't get passed around, and she takes full ownership of making sure your suit comes out perfectly. Lots of nice customization available even for the lower price points, and Caroline is a master at getting a perfect fit even for the cheaper standard sizing. Appointments are a must, but easy to schedule. The long version with more details: Buying Experience - While AL offers a great online ordering experience, the experience of going in person to the showroom in Raleigh (Cameron Village) is well worth it. You can browse the store, but if you're looking to make a purchase, highly recommend making an appointment ahead of time via their website. Appointments are an hour, and Caroline will walk you through the process, take measurements, and ultimately help place your order. She has fabric swatches available, which is important because they can look quite different than online. She's also fantastic at knowing their sizing and measurements, and will know exactly how to order to ensure a perfect fit (which may not always be what the online size chart suggests). She provides helpful recommendations for all the customization without being overbearing, and we appreciated that she was engaged and helpful even though we were looking to purchase one of their cheaper suits. Suit came in within about 2 weeks - you schedule a 30 minute fitting appointment to ensure you like everything or if you might need tailoring. We needed some minor tailoring, which was turned around promptly. Price - we weren't looking to spend a ton of money, but wanted to get a quality, well-fitting suit. AL offers very high end fully custom options (think $1k+), but they also have a number of "standard" options for reasonable price points ($399+). The main differences seemed to be that the fully custom is truly cut-to-size (they make a pattern specifically for your body) and will have larger selection of fabric styles. The "standard" options are your normal size availability and have less fabric selections, but we still found them to be high quality, and Caroline is so great at what she does that the fit of the standard styles is still great (and she kindly comp'd any tailoring). You can browse online to get a sense of pricing, but I still recommend ordering in person. There are also frequently promo codes (ex. 20% off for first time purchases) that can be used in store and can add up to a sizeable discount. Jos A. Bank is across the street, so we stopped in there for price comparison. Their off-the-rack suits were a bit cheaper, but generally require quite a bit of tailoring (additional charge). They offer a custom line of suits, most of which were more expensive than AL, and every custom option was a separate charge rather than being included (ex. $25 for lining, etc.). Overall, we felt like AL was a much better bang for the buck.

I had asked them to make a number of alterations to the suits and jackets for a better fit. I also asked them to pull the stitching on the suit pockets so I could use them and fix a snag in one of the odd jackets. They said this would be no problem and agreed to do all the work. The odd jackets came out fine as far as I can tell. No obvious errors in the alterations on the odd jackets or suit jackets. However, when I came in to pick up the jackets, I saw they hadn't fixed the snag and failed to open up the suit pockets. It's common for new suits to have the pockets sewn shut. A seamstress can rip these open and make them functional--it's not a difficult task for someone who knows what they're doing and shouldn't take long. But, they simply didn't do it as promised. After pointing this out, Ann sent the suit jacket, vest, and snagged odd jacket to the back to have them worked on. The odd jacket came back fixed, and the suit jacket with functional pockets. But, the vest pockets hadn't been touched. So, I had to send it back again reiterating the work we agreed on. Ann asked me "are you sure the vest pockets are real? We don't want to open them up if they're not real." Yes Ann, they're real--any seamstress can tell just by eyeballing it. The only major problem with the alterations was the pants for one of my suits. They damaged the fabric on the waist of one of my suit pants when letting it out, then didn't want to accept responsibility for the damage, implying that it might have been that way when the pants were originally made. No, they weren't damaged when I brought them in. This was a MTM suit I had made back in 2016, and worn exactly twice since then (It's spent most of its life hanging up in my closet due to me getting a bit too fat in the mid-section and not being able to fit into the pants, and not having an occasion to wear it until now). It looks like they were accidentally damaged when pulling the stitch to do the alteration. Hey, it happens to even the best of tailors, but the way to handle this is to fess up, own it, and try to make it right--not pretend it didn't happen or minimize it. They also left a bunch of loose threads when they were done instead of cleaning everything up. That's just sloppy workmanship. The pants are still wearable, but I'm disappointed by the damage since this suit is a bit sentimental to me (it was my wedding suit). Ann tried to shrug it off as not being very noticeable. To me, this is unacceptable. A simple apology and offer to make it right would have gone a long way. Instead, the shop engaged in juvenile face-saving behavior, which is unprofessional. This, coupled with the fact that I had to remind them multiple times to do other finishing details we had agreed on made for a disappointing experience. The suits are still wearable, the odd jackets did ultimately get finished correctly and fit well. Damage aside, I didn't get the level of customer service I was expecting (especially given the number of garments I brought them), and they didn't offer any sort of compensation for the damage. Lesson learned, I guess. I hate writing reviews like this, but I also don't like being treated poorly by businesses who are doing a lot of work for me and cashing the check regardless of the outcome.
