So the shits been scraping the ground. This past Friday I take my car to Firestone in Huntersville to get it fixed along with a few other things. Unbeknownst to me until I hit a bump on the way to Asheville for my birthday weekend , the shit is still hanging and scraping the road as I drive. Fast forward to today. I call Coxe this morning. They're crazy busy so I don't have any expectations. I call my husband to see if his friend who owns a shop about 45 min away can get it done. He can. I dont wanna have to drive out there just yet so I bring my car to Coxe like they advised. As Cat mentioned before it may take a minute to get to my car. It's all good. I'm waiting for only 2 min or less and Cat at the front desk told me they'll get to my car real soon once a lift opens. In literally less than 6 min my car is in the back. Wow! Also waiting in the lobby and the other lady is vacuuming asking me if she's disturbing me. Just friendliness and kindness all around. Then Aaron comes out and tells me that the front piece was being held up by zip ties. Thanks Firestone! Rather than telling me they need to order the parts from Honda like Aaron said, they pieced my shit together for it to just come down. Firestone in Huntersville did me dirty. I'm leaving a review there too. Aaron gave me the piece that was hanging down. Gave me the ONE screw that was there out of like 8 or so that I needed. AND THEY DIDN'T CHARGE ME!!! Thank you thank you thank you so much Kat and Aaron!!! If I ever need work done and have a visit coming up for Asheville, I'll just take my car here. I mean I love Asheville cause most everyone I encounter here are polite and kind, but this is some next level shit for me as a Black Woman. I'm typically on guard to ensure I'm not taken advantage of. Literally Aaron and Kat put me at ease.

A very polite man named Chris was there when I arrived and took some info, and then presented me with pricing. $240 to check my check engine light, and then, because I told him I'd just purchased the car, $150 do "do a really in depth check". I declined the in depth, but it left me a bad taste in my mouth. I called another mechanic on the way out who quoted me $189 to check the light. I called Chris back to ask if they'd match that and he immediately replied "no ma'am". No problem. I'll come and grab the car and go elsewhere - I was already feeling like I was going to be overcharged. ETA. I received a call a couple of hours later, stating they would match the cost that the other shop quoted. The owner, Todd, is apparently in today, and Chris had spoken to him about this and he wanted to honor the other quote. Honestly, when I drove up to this shop I was really excited. I grew up country, in the country. This place is country - there are roosters crowing, and a good ol' boy mechanic listening to George Straight. I'm down with that. The hitch and bumper were smashed, and this meant we could not tow our camper back home to Phoenix. With less than a week to leave for home, our insurance company and a (unnamed) national body shop was less than worthless. So we looked around for a local body shop, and found Cran Auto Body. Mark came through quickly with a very reasonable estimate, was incredibly reassuring and explained the whole process to me. Even pointed out things he could reuse and did not need to buy. Super honest guy! The insurance company actually agreed with his full estimate! He got us on the road with a new bumper and hitch in no time, and we got home safe and sound. Very high quality work, factory OEM parts and everything. I hope to never have to use him again, but if any of you need that level of work, Crain's is the way to go. Also, a PSA. Always buy local, never go to the Walmarts of the world if you need quality work. Unless you need a whole lot of toilet paper in a hurry. In that case, go to Walmart. An added benefit is they are within walking distance (about 0.4 mile} to downtown Asheville, so we dropped car off in am and spent night in town and picked it up the next morning. Car runs great. Very competent staff and impressed with knowledge and helpfulness of Teresa and Mason. We will definitely use them again!

I had went to this mechanic to have a plug on my AC compressor electro-magnet clutch replaced as it…read morewould intermittently cut out. Key word is intermittently. They took my car in, said they duplicated the problem and that a grey plug was loose. They plugged it in and it worked. Sure, okay. $100 to plug in a plug. At least I don't have to deal with it. Two weeks later my car has the same issue. I call up and the scheduler told me to come in the following Wednesday. I did just that, and when I came in, they told me it was the previous Wednesday and to reschedule... okay, fine. I went right home and ended up repairing the plug myself, which was different from the plug that they "plugged in". I video taped what the actual plug was and showed them it connecting to the compressor and asked for a refund. They told me to come back the next week when the owner was there. I came back and they said "the owner is at the other location but said no." So not only did they waste my time three times, but they stole $100 because their electrician of 30 years couldn't properly diagnose a simple AC electro-magnet clutch connector and still had to get paid. They told me it was fine when I took it, even though its an INTERMITTENT issue. Think twice before coming here for any electrical work or any work at all for that matter.
