We love this local course, but in the last year or two we've had a harder time getting times.

Went by here yesterday. There's a hole in one contest. Qualifiers were yesterday and today. You just needed to get within 14 ft of the pin (on the green) to qualify for the hole in one contest. My mom and I each did 3 tries, 3- tries for five dollars. Money goes towards golf courses youth programs, we both used to substitute teach in ER, so worthy cause. Stop by today, 12-2, try and qualify. Not sure if the actual contest is today or tomorrow. This is all under the auspices of Elk Rapid's Harbor Days. It's a par three hole. Good luck. read more

Nicely manicured nine hole golf course. Staff exceptionally helpful getting me on the course as a walk on. A couple of tricky holes that I will know more about when I play the course again. read more

Elk Rapids Golf Club is a very pleasant par-36 course. It is well maintained with great views of Elk Lake. There aren't many holes that will make you pull your hair out -- maybe one or two? -- which makes this the perfect vacation golf outing. Pleasant, inexpensive, and fun -- I'm not sure if you could ask for anything more. Call the clubhouse about twilight rates. I think it's $10 after a person after 4pm with a cart. Friendly, beautiful, par-36 course right next to Elk Lake. Very walkable course w/ tee boxes right next to the greens on all but one hole. The three best holes are right next to the lake. Old-school layout with bunkers next to and behind the greens, but not in front. read more

Not a kid friendly staff. Website says family friendly to visitors! Haha! My wife and I brought our grandfather, two year old daughter riding with my non golfing wife in a cart, and eight year old golfing daughter to have a nice round. However we were rudely treated, with a bad attitude and frown on his face, by the pro shop clerk Jim and the ranger that they didn't want our two year old daughter walking around the course. Yeah we generally let our two year old wander around frequently. Particularly at golf courses to bother other golfers and get near flying golf balls. We've done this as a family at four and five star courses, let alone this little nine hole course (which we've played often in the past), so were shocked at the staff attitude. Needing all golfers to help grow the future of the game it's a shame that the staff here doesn't support families on the course. That statement apparently didn't resonate to them either when we made it. Good luck to them. read more

Fun golf course. Played with my wife and another couple. A course you want to walk and not have electric cart. Very mature landscape and sort of typical old course (established in 1920's) that each holes go back and forth. Nice views on the course. Overall course maintenance worth the cost. read more
