I drove out to this lodge on a Wednesday for a seminar and the parking lot is really big and clean. This place is a private organization and you either need a key card or they have to buzz you in. This place has a full bar and plenty of seating and they play bingo there. I was in the conference room where we had our seminar at, we usually have a buffet style lunch, but since the meeting was on a holiday and only about 14 of us showed up they just had us order from the menu and almost everyone ordered something different and we each only paid $20.00 for the lunch and the three hour seminar. They have this seminar every month there on the third Wednesday at 11:00 The area we were in also has a stage and a couple of projection screens. What a cute establishment. We were hosted by Garden Grove High School for their 2023 Football Banquet. The food was amazing and the staff were extremely friendly. I must say, it was the OPEN BAR of the facility that was an eye catcher. We sat and had a great time until the mini earthquake hit, but all was okay! I will say when hosting an event or party, this is a cute place to have it at. Lots of space, service was great and an overall awesome time! But the moose was a bit scary LOL... We really couldn't be happier with Elks! We had the pleasure of having our daughters quinceanera there recently and all the staff really did go above and beyond for us. The food was amazing. It was our first time coming to the elks lodge for bingo. The lady upfront wasn't too helpful when I was trying to tell her it was my first time. But one of the other ladies helped us get some seats. It was a a bit packed. So come early we got there about 615 and it was in the middle of early bird games. We asked some people at our table for help and they were so nice. They helped us figure out the whole packet. There are strip games intertwined between bingo games. Which are neat at $1- $5 a sheet. The number caller wasn't too fast I felt like I could keep up with 2 sheets. Towards the end ( which went till 11 pm) numbers were called a bit faster. Daubers were a buck and there was a nice snack bar , With hot dogs, sandwiches, chips, cookies, brownies ,candy bars and drinks. Coffee seems to be complimentary. We went here to play bingo for the 1st time. We had no idea how to play. We sat down by a very helpful lady and she helped us play the games. A few others helped too They also incould dinner, so that was nice. The room was busy and the games go fast so ask for help is your new to playing Bingo The elks is is to find parking and the men's bathroom was clean They do have people walking around so you maybe able to ask them for help too There are lots of TV's to see what Ball is next and that helped us keep up in the game It's worth a trip here to give bingo a try. I attended a Veterans Day event with my service dog and my wife on Nov 6th. We entered without any incident and people loved my service dog. This was until a Garden Grove Elk lodge member wearing a red Elk's Lodge shirt with a 9th infantry division hat told me and my wife that because it was private property service dogs were not allowed and that we had to leave. We obliged and inquired about it after since I felt slightly humiliated about the whole incident, especially the fact that it was a veteran discriminating against another veteran...on VETERANS DAY and a VETERANS DAY EVENT! So I sent an email in complaint and no response. I called and they said that they saw the email and were dealing with it and promised to be more transparent. Did they? Of course not. Moreover, the secretary at the front desk admitted that service animals were ALLOWED on premise and that they had trouble "locating the individual". Its funny how they can't locate the only old white guy wearing a red shirt with a 9th infantry division hat. There are only so many workers at the event! I am sure they had a roster. Whoever this individual is, I hope you learn from your mistake and NEVER make another veteran of this great nation go through what you made me and my wife go through. Moreover, I hope you are happy with how you have stained the reputation of your lodge. So now, knowing it is a case of discrimination and AGAINST THE LAW...for those of you that don't know ADA (American Disabilities Act) prevents against discrimination against legal service animals. I wanted to avoid putting this review as I know how damaging these could be...but since they have not replied and ghosted me, here it is. read more

Food is good, but karaoke is very bad. KJ couple likes to sing, but they are out of tune as usual. Singers could be good but the KJ do not set or adjust the sound, poor mic, horrible system. I wish they have another professional KJ service. read more

Ok folks, this review is not for the Elks Lodge itself as I am sure there are plenty of happy members keeping this place going. I am writing a quick review of what the Elks Lodge folks have been doing since March during this Covid-19 pandemic. I am talking about the Santa Maria Style BBQ that they do in the large parking lot and then serve from the kitchen. You drive in, meander to a booth where you select from a variety of BBQ meats. We got there around twelve and there were two choices left, briskets and ribs. We selected the "baby back ribs combo plate". There was also cake and corn bread sales by a sister organization. We got corn bread muffins from them. So we got our foods all the while you stay in your car as you go around the parking lot. We end up on Trask and an easy way home. For the $15 per rib combo you also get half a cup of potato salad which Iliked, it must have been home made. Another 1/2 cup of coleslaw made the right way with pineapple chunks, probably also home made. A good helping of baked beans which we saw was Bush Best beans, and 4 bones of meaty ribs that are tasty and smoky and fall of the bones good, that BBQ sauce they give you makes it sweet. The corn muffin I used to soak up the juices and sauces left over in the bottom of the foam plate. Not bad! A nice change of pace and they do all the work. Joining The Garden Grove Elks was just a great idea. We've met a lot of nice people to enjoy company with & volunteer for different events. We do a lot for Veterans & childhood illnesses, among other charities for around the city. The food is very good & we have a lot of dinner & dancing events. There are also many areas inside as well as the outside park, that are rented out for private parties, wedding receptions, social events, as well as funerals & celebrations of life. I am currently inside elks for bingo night! It's my bf's and my first time here. We each paid $15 for 13 sheets (1 sheet each has 6 bingo "cards"). Each sheet is a different game. For example: there is a game called "railroad", you need two rows of 5 dots adjacent to each other, either horizontal or vertical on 1 card. Some games have the "wild#" which is the date. For example, today is May 14th, so you dot every number with 4 as the second number (4, 14, 24, and so on). You should probably buy a "dotter"(dotting marker); they sell it there for $1. My bf and I tried to get as much info as we could before we got here via yelp but nobody really explained it! Game starts at 7pm and roughly ends around 10/1030pm. They sell drinks and snacks: can of pop is 1 dollar, $1 ice cream, FRESH cookies 2/$1(I seriosuly burnt my fingers because they were that fresh). Overall a great experience. People there are really helpful and informative! We're most definitely coming back:). read more

We were told that our non-consumed water bottles had be trashed before exiting the Elks building. When I asked for any sign, I was shown a sign way back on the side of their chain link fence reading, "No food or drink from outside is allowed" I wrote to Elks' management but no response explaining this senseless policy. Second, my lady friend was rudely refused a glass of water which is against California law & she was forced to buy their bottled water which had to be disposed without fully consumed upon leaving any way. Since when Elks policies should be superseding State laws now?? read more

So I'm updating my review of this lodge. While the quality of the food is still hit and miss along with the service I have to say that many of the problems with this lodge have been corrected. The food servers can be slow and often dissappear I will say that the service at the bar is fantastic and drinks are always spot on!!! I'm back to liking my lodge!!! read more
