When confronted for their extremely over oiled lanes, oiled to the point where it was physically impossible to get any spin on the ball, the staff stated that the lanes were so oily because they where just oiled today. This is not an excuse. Lanes being freshly oiled should not be this slippery. The balls were so gross that they could not even be held. Multiple people in our group and on the lanes around us dropped the balls on their approach even when held perfectly. DONT COME HERE!

I went to pick up my ball for my round thinking I was getting ready to play. When suddenly a woman with a pink bob screamed and I mean SCREAMED "STOP THROWING MORE BALLS" from the desk and walked away. We then looked and realized the lane was down so we stopped playing and waited. We waited for five minutes when we realized she wasn't letting us know the machine was down but she was actually yelling at us. So we began to put on our shoes when another worker came up to us and said "we didn't know your lane was down. We thought your time was up. That's why she yelled at you. We will give you ten minutes for this." So we got an extra ten minutes in a high anxiety and aggressive environment without an apology from the person who actually yelled at us. We were on edge the rest of the time and decided to leave early anyways. When we turned in our shoes the girl with the pink bob ignored us. On top of this, she had been ignoring customers all night and only talking to other employees. Overall, very very disappointed in this experience as we come here often for fun nights but now it's a little tarnished. I'm really ashamed and embarrassed that such a great environment has such a hostile pink bob in the vicinity.

Lots of workers but nobody was doing anything. The place is great but the staff was lacking. Sorry to write a negative review but this place could be AMAZING with a friendly and service driven staff who takes pride in the job.

If you're looking for a five-star dining destination, Joey Armadillo's is not the place for you. I wouldn't serve it to the Queen of England, but the pizza was cheesy and the fries were crispy; what else could you want on a chilly wednesday night? It was disappointing, however, that even though the bowling alley closes at 2am, the kitchen stops serving at 9pm. So when it was 11pm and we all got hungry again, we were unable to order. The staff was friendly and attentive, even playing a certain song that we requested over the sound system. After getting our shoes, they were happy to open a second lane for our group, which was one person too big for a single lane. When a group of college students walks into an establishment, they can sometimes be met with animosity or annoyance. The staff at Joey's however, could not have been warmer. Through speaking to other bowlers, I learned that what draws people to Joey's is its weekly specials, offering very cheap bowling and drink specials on certain nights. Joey Armadillo's is a fun spot for all ages. Children will love the arcade, adults will love the full bar and poker room, and us college students (who are a little of both) will love the reasonable prices and good times. If you are passing through Niles and you want a fun night, some food and drinks, and some friendly competition, you can't go wrong here (unless it's past 8pm).

The balls came back with literal drips of oil on them, and it got on our clothing it was so oily. So we didn't love that. Shoes were clean and odor free, drinks from the bar were decent.
