Thankfully the weather cooperated for a Nebraska April wedding. The fountain in the front of the main door was a lovely addition. Parking was good, but somewhat limited. Indoor, it had vibes of a quaint Italian village. The decor was set up to look like a little Italian spot, a vineyard, something along those lines. The curved staircase from the top to lower floors made the entrances dramatic. There was a great space to set up food and an open bar. The bartenders were fabulous. The table arrangement worked so well with the dance floor, I was impressed!

For my wedding day before I even got dressed they set up and decorated the entire reception hall. I had leftover flowers they arranged and set out that really completed the space. Throughout the night they kept the event on track, helped with the ceremony rehearsal, and packed up at the end. Guests raved about the views and rustic decor. There is not one critique I could find. There's typically available parking around the area, but crossing the busy streets is a bit dangerous. *The main reason I could not give this venue a 5 star rating was due to our experience with a staff/coordinator named Summer. -This weekend, we had a tight schedule. Pictures, videography, cake, florists, the entire wedding party, and our immediate family had to wait outside of the locked venue long past the time the doors were supposed to be unlocked. It was very difficult to get in contact with Summer, she arrived late, and she arrived with an attitude. She opened the doors and immediately started yelling at the wedding party and other guests. We managed to get past these issues and get to the wedding ceremony on time. We had high hopes that things would simmer down by the time we got back to the venue for the reception. Wrong. -When we came back for the cocktail hour, we had a hiccup with our party bus and the entire wedding party ended up walking two blocks back to the venue carrying drinks, coolers, etc. -not her fault. We arrived to the venue on foot and were welcomed by Summer immediately yelling at each of the guests trying to walk in with their hands full, feet hurting, needing to use the restroom, and overheating. Instead of being a good host -gracious and helpful with the situation- it felt like we were in boot camp. I understand the outside drink policy, but when a party bus breaks down and we all are walking on foot with unopened or empty drinks, and nowhere else to go, you'd expect there to be a bit more grace in the situation and we were instead met with immense hostility. -As the evening progressed, Summer was still visibly on edge (ALL of the guests noticed). The bride & groom ended up pulling her aside and addressing this, in hopes that we could proceed with a peaceful end to the night. Unfortunately, she was not able to lighten up. -During dinner, she had the assignment of dismissing tables to get their food. She watched every guest like a hawk. I can respect being locked in, but this was different. For example: two guests accidentally went to the wrong line to grab food. She watched them from afar, waited until they started filling their plates, pointed & yelled at them in front of everyone, stormed up behind them, patted them both on the shoulders while they're dishing food, pointed across the room to the other line, and stormed off. -The bride & groom also had put in one specific, small, personal catering request (prior to the day of) and she totally blew it. When approached about this she immediately projected her frustrations at the drink situation from earlier (due to the party bus situation) instead of holding herself accountable. -As the evening wrapped up and guests were helping tear down & gather their things, she then kept turning the lights on and off repeatedly, as if that was going to help us speed up the process. I have enough respect for the venue itself and the other staff members to not give this place a 0 star rating, and we did not let any of this ruin our whole night, but I would strongly encourage that they reconsider or reinforce their customer service policies because this treatment was totally undeserved and unacceptable. I hope the bride and groom get a partial refund for the amount of stress and inconvenience from this one coordinator that we were all counting on who ended up being the #1 lowlight of the entire event.

I fell in love with castle unicorn…read morethe moment I visited back in April 2024 and I immediately knew it had everything I was looking for in my dream venue! The owners John and Ray were absolutely fantastic to work with, they were extremely detailed and attentive, which was super helpful since we live in a different state. They were never annoyed with our questions and provided great details, not to mention their package was very competitive given it comes with the food (available for upgrade) and an awesome DJ! We ended up booking our photographer, videographer and the photobooth from the DJ's company and they had the special pricing for castle unicorn as well! It was raining on our wedding day which was not how I would've preferred, but John and Ray immediately switched to the indoor plan B and all of our guests ended up having a blast, and everyone thought the misty view made the ceremony even dreamier! One of our guests was in a wheelchair at the time and called for assistance and the owners arranged it for her right away. If you want a hassle free wedding with a complete package and a super attentive venue to work with, I recommend castle unicorn 200%!

The accommodations were updated and very clean, with lots of thoughtful details regarding accommodations for people who may need Them. We ate in the dining hall a couple of times and the food was great. There is a bit of a walk to the dining hall, but the camp provided a shuttle for people who needed that. The common spaces are great for reading, relaxing, and good conversation. Nice furniture and a cozy atmosphere. They also had a great set up out back for a fire pit with many Adirondack chairs. The surrounding area is perfect for long walks or hikes. We went in the fall and it was picturesque!

Went here for a retreat with my residency class. We were there to do the high ropes course. The staff that was there to assist was suepr fun and engaging. The were very motivational. There was also nice cool water waiting for us at the resting points. It's a great activity for any group that wants to learn more about each other and trust each other as well. Great experience!

They have really come a long way in a year's time and their current show about the Titanic (April 2015) was so amazingly done! The characters that you're asked to be are real passengers on the Titanic and they served the exact dessert that was served to first class passengers the day the ship sank (which was actually the anniversary date of the night we went). It was so good we are thinking of going back to sit in the "steerage" section instead of first class to check it out from another perspective! Both times we have been there the food is excellent and the price is pretty good for a 3 course dinner and a show! Oh and we got our own stereo card picture for $5 as a souvenir at the end of the show too!

The altar having a fountain behind it is an absolutely stunning detail for the ceremony. The white stone wall by the outdoor tables made for an incredible background for pictures and made me feel like I was in Greece instead of Iowa. The rolling fields around the venue are beautiful for family/wedding party photos. The grand staircase is a classy touch and made for fun entrances by the wedding party. The chandeliers are a gorgeous detail that tied the whole reception area together. I loved having the rooms for the groomsmen and bridesmaids to get ready in, the pool table in the groomsmen's room was a great idea.
