I live across the country in Arizona for now, but my wife lives in Elkton. I ordered flowers and chocolates online for her on a whim, we can all use a pick me up these days. I picked same day shipping, very reasonable price. My wife was not home when they were delivered. The man who delivered them literally waited in his vehicle until he got a hold of my wife on the phone and waited until she got there, versus sticking the product out in the heat. She said he was super nice. I would absolutely use this company again, and that comes from a Philly couple, who you likely know don't like anyone. Ha ha ha. Seriously though, the flowers were better than the picture online and the service was fast and professional. Great company. read more

Stopped in with my wife last spring to inquire about bulbs for a garden. Was scoffed at about why would they carry bulbs during this time when it's weeks until planting season. Also inquired months before via phone with Mr. Dwight hair about an apartment he has advertised. He was very rude and when he found out we were expecting, he literally hung up the phone on me. Whenever I see him in person I'll remind him of how rude he was but I haven't had a chance. read more

My wife received a very generous gift of a beautiful flower arrangement and chocolate last week while recovering from an illness. The gift was fulfilled by Elkton Florist. Delivery was made on a Saturday. A very hot Saturday. We were home but instead of ringing the doorbell as one would expect, the delivery person just left the flowers and chocolate just inside the open garage door. Hours went by before anyone was in the garage. As you'd expect, when the gift was discovered later that day the chocolate was completely melted and the flowers were in sad shape. Upon complaining to Elkton Florist on Monday they were unmoved. I would never give these people any business based upon this situation and complete lack of customer service. read more

Elkton florist made the flowers for my wedding last year they did a wonderful job. The manager was flexible on the hours for pick up, they were beautiful flowers and a good value. Over the weekend I ordered flowers online to be delivered to my wife. I specified 'No Pink" as my wife really dislikes pink. Well the online flowers had what I thought were purple flowers but when delivered looked pink to my wife. After discussing with my insistent wife Elkton Florist made it right by offering to pick up the arrangement from her residence, redue the arrangement and redeliver tomorrow. I take the blame for this occurance. If you do order online understand they have to make it as the picture shows; I think that is a reasonable request. I will use them again, without hesitation, but next time I will call my order in and use the website as a starting point to ensure, for my special situation, all is well. I share this story to show how the culture of this locally owned business does take care of its customers even after communication hick ups. I rarely submitt reviews but after some thought i am! I will preface this by saying I worked @ a bank for 30 years dealing with customer service and Elkton Florist was the worst I have ever seen.My sweet neighbor passed and I ordered from this florist.Her website offered a coupon code which wasn't honored owner Dawn stated it was delivery persons job to honor that? Anyway I picked flowers from their site cost $70.They delivered a totally different arrangement my 37 daughter saw delivered.When I called back to question i talked with Amber (made arrang said they had no green in store and roses have green before they open anyway???) Brittany~owners daughter & Taylor.They made excuses then agreed to deliver arrang as picture I ordered.Little did I know they knocked on my neighbors door~family & friends there due to death~asked for other arrangement back.I saw this out my window and quietly as to not offend my neighbor said please give back original flowers~this is horrible you would do that.Daughter responded oh no we will charge you for these too~!!! Told the daughter we do business with an amazing attorney right by your shop and will tell him about this and not to order here.She drove off with flowers and owner sent this horrible email.One added note~my sister had recommended them so she called to discuss and the owner actually hung up on her...said was nice conversation~You would be better off buying flowers at your local grocery store.Horrible customer service! her response~ Again, I am sorry for your loss, clearly it has been devastating and causing great distress to you. I am attaching pictures of both arrangements that we delivered, because you didn't see either of them in person and just flew off the handle over something you heard. While I can agree that we didn't use the raffia in the first one and I am sorry about that, I do not think that warrants your reaction. I am going to chalk it up to you being distressed over the loss of your neighbor. I am glad to know that that you called your sister and she in turn called me, even though your sister had nothing to do with the flowers, we had a great conversation. I told her about my son who has just returned home safely from fighting over seas in Syria. So forgive me if I cannot seem to understand your extreme reaction to flowers when there are much more pressing things going on in the world. The flowers we delivered were fresh, delivered within an hour of your ordering and had truly only a minor substitution. Also, you showed great strength of character when you came flying out of your house at my daughter, creating a scene and threatening her with a law suit and demanded of her like a master to their slave to "turn around and give those flowers back". You are a prime example of wanting something for nothing and part of the reason why our society is in decline. I hope you can move past this, because I certainly will after I send this email. I do not need your business that bad and I do not need your sister's business that bad to deal with this amount of unwarranted abuse. We worked with Amber and she was absolutely amazing. When we met to discuss bridal bouquets, we did not have a clear idea of what we wanted except for the color scheme (white and green), she suggested flowers that worked with our budget and would last through the summer heat. She didn't "yes" us and told us honestly what flowers she thought would cause issues through the wedding, such as ones that had pollen that could get on the dresses or could lose petals, etc. The bouquets were ready on time and packaged perfectly in a box with vases. Overall, great experience and couldn't have ask for anything more. read more

By far the worst flower arrangement Ive ever purchased! I ordered online through Teleflora.com. The arrangement my mother received was NO where near what i paid for. Online showed a full arrangement with beautiful flowers. My mother got a few flowers here and there with a bunch of leaves!!! I wish they allowed pictures on here because everyone would get a good laugh. My 5 year old nephew could have done a better job. They delivered the arrangement more than a day late. All the flowers fell out of the tiny cup passing for a vase as soon as the deliverer handed it to my wife. The flowers were for Christmas and were quite expensive. The arrangement lacked features shown in the online ad and the item was much smaller than shown. Never ever use Elkton Florist. Flowers cut to only 4 inch long stems. Now I have a crying wife for Christmas eve. read more

I ordered flowers from Elkton for a funeral. Not only did they not arrive, but they did not even look at the order until AFTER the viewing was over. They did refund the purchase price, but made me look terrible and couldn't have cared less. They wanted to send the funeral flowers to the home of the widow. I told them I didn't have the address but what I wanted to say was, "You don't send funeral flowers to a home, you morons! That is bad luck! And who would want them even if it wasn't?!" I recently ordered flowers from Elkton for a funeral for an executives father. I did not receive an email confirmation so I called the following day to confirm the order and ask for an email to be sent as this was on a corporate credit card and I needed the email confirmation to process payment. The girl I spoke with said she could see the order in the computer, and would resend the confirmation email. She read back my email address and I confirmed it was correct. 3 hours later, I still did not receive the confirmation, so I called again. This time I spoke with someone different, explained the situation that I had not received confirmation and that I needed the email to process payment as it was on a corporate account credit card. I don't think I have ever been treated so poorly on the phone. She became rather insulted that I had called again, told me that they had 3 proms and it was also mothers day weekend and let me know how busy they were. I hung up the phone. I ordered these from Texas so I did not see them. They arrived on time and im told they were beautiful, that was not the problem. The problem was the absolutely unprofessional customer service I received on the phone. I understand how business can sometimes become overwhelming. I work for a very large company, and it is chaos quite frequently in the business im in. It is how you deal with the chaos that is your calling card. While the flower may have been quite beautiful, the alarming experience I received on the phone will be the only thing I will remember.
