Above and beyond satisfaction with my service! I was a first timer and Elle was recommended to me by a close friend. I was very impressed by their professionalism and talent. Jill cut and highlighted my hair using the balayage that they specialize in. I have A LOT of hair and she was very meticulous but very efficient and it turned out AWESOME! I have never seen results like this from other salons I have been to. (And if you don't believe me check out their Instagram account to see pics ellesaloninc) You can tell Jill was extreme knowledgable about her craft. She really was an expert. The services are a little pricey, DEFINITELY within reason and comparable to most upper echelon salons in the area, but the results in my opinion were 100% worth every penny. I booked an appointment online the night before and it was the most convenient thing ever! plus it was super easy. The salon was also easy to find right off Randall next to Rookies. I was greeted by the friendly receptionists that offered me a drink as I waited. i didn't have to wait long which was very nice. I took a gamble and let the booking website pick a person for me to do my hair. If this was based purely on service, I'd say 5 stars...I've gone to this salon numerous times and have always loved the way my hair looks afterwards..... That being said, recently I was a little upset with this salon. I made an appointment online for a full foil and a haircut. I went online a few days prior to the appointment to confirm the time and saw that I was moved to another provider for my full highlight without being notified. I'm a blonde and booked with a specific technician cause I've liked what they did to my hair before. If it was just the haircut it would've bee okay but a full foil i feel I should've been notified. I am very picky about my hair (blonde color and highlights) and was worried about trying a new place after 5 years with the same stylist. I drive by Elle Salon everyday to and from work and decided to give them a try. Christina was my stylist and I highly recommend her. I told her a few different ideas that I had and she suggested what she thought would look best and be the best for my hair. Her suggestions were spot on and I was extremely happy with both the cut and color. The salon was very friendly and you could tell from the conversations around me that there are many repeat clients. Something very strange happened to me today at the grocery store. A woman approached me and told me that my haircut was reeeeeeelly cute. Initially, I was confident she was talking to someone behind me., since I have very fine hair. I was reluctant to turn around to check. But she was directing this VERY RARE!!! Compliment to ME!! ME, for the crying out loud! I'm not sure what my response was, but what I know for sure...is that this masterpiece on my head was created by Erin at Elle. She understands difficult hair and can make it look like something it's not! She has suggested ideas and (kindly!) swayed me against some of my own which she did not think would work well. This salon is beautiful and my hairdresser was very friendly but, unfortunately, my hair did not turn out how I wanted it too. I asked for a balayage and it looks like zebra highlights. I thought I found a gem in the suburbs because my other salon was located in Chicago. Without a doubt, I will make the commute to Chicago because my hair looks poorly done. Not to mention, I started with one hairdresser then another one finished toning and blowdrying my hair which just made it seem hurried and overbooked. I've asked to go from platinum blonde to medium brown and ended up with my same color just toned ashier, I've asked for an all over color and ended up with zebra stripes, and I've asked for a glaze and ended up with streaks and patches all over my hair. Not to mention they are always rushing clients out of the salon and ripping out their hair by harshly brushing it while it's wet with no care whatsoever. My first time I did a blonde balayage which turned out ok so I decided to go back. My second time I died it from a bright blonde to a dark brown which only lasted a couple weeks and then faded to RED. My last and final time here they completely ruined my hair.. turning it a super brassy blonde color. There's still huge chunks of brown in it and it ended up costing me close to $300. The workers are super nice and the salon is gorgeous but I went in for a simple balayage and ended up something sub par. I have black hair so the balayage turned to a red brass color which they didn't tone very well but I understood that color. I also had a small streak of green through the front of my hair and I asked them to get rid of it. My stylist tried bleach washing it but the green wouldn't come out so they just said oh well it looks fine and let me go with it still in my hair even though I said I hated it and said that I should go to Sally's and try and do it myself. My hair also needed a trim but they didn't even offer that to me. I paid 170 for a crappy balayage and half green hair. read more

I looked on the olaplex website to find a salon that uses that, i came across Elle salon and callled to make a perm consultation only to learn they don't perform perms anymore. So i went to the next one on the list (the hair lounge) and booked a perm consultation two weeks later got a perm NIGHTMARE!!! Now i understand why Elle salon doesn't so perms anymore. They're Awful!! So ironically i had a friend refer me back to Elle salon and i booked an appointment for a Brazilian blow out and OMG totally game changer! Ok, I would love to start out saying that MOST of the people here are extremely friendly and take amazing care of their customers. Joanna, the girl who cut my hair, did an incredible job for being the first time she met me, and not knowing what i like. She listened when i told her what I wanted, and she was a friendly stylist. That being said, there is one reason I am considering not going back. Part of the service is a shampoo and conditioner wash. The girl who washed my hair was "rough" to say the least. She threw my head this way and that. As I say gettin my hair washed I thought "is this really happening?" I was in about 10 days ago, and I've been to the chiropractor twice already. My neck was in so much pain the day after and is still stiff. As far as the stylists go, this place is awesome. WouldThe products they use are awesome, I even bought some. But for $100+ with my products I purchased.... I expect NOT to have to seek medical attention afterwards. I would recommend them, minus the wash. Or at least be brave enough to talk to the manager. The decor is so chic, the hairstylists all look like supermodels but yet they're all so kind and genuine, and the services they provide are top notch. They also carry a really wonderful line of products that I've never seen anywhere else. I go to Ashley for my color services, but I'd trust any of these girls to do my hair because they're all so talented and truly passionate about their jobs.
