The home is beautifully decorated with comfortable rooms and inviting common spaces. It also provided a quiet, peaceful atmosphere that made it easy to unwind. The attention to detail is evident here--everything was spotless! Breakfast was a true highlight of our stay. The waffles were hands down the best we've ever had--perfectly cooked and delicious. We went to Marion, Virginia to see our friend Tim White's show, Song of the Mountains at the Lincoln Theatre. Collins House is about a block and a half away. The home is charming inside and out; we enjoyed the flowers and beautiful garden-like grounds, with porch sitting and rocking. Inside, I felt completely at home, surrounded by inviting, comfortable, but very tasteful furniture and decor. The breakfast meals were superb, with every attentiveness directed at tasty delicacies in exceptional presentations. Rod and Carol need no signs about hospitality for it abounds in every aspect of the stay at the Collins House, a charming and extremely valuable rest haven while visiting the area. There are no other accommodations in the area for comparison, so staying elsewhere will be your loss, but staying there, will be your gain.

You can take Ellen's Stardust Diner in NYC if you want, but I'll just visit Damascus Old Mill again…read moresoon. What a great grilled flavor, and the right amount of sweetness from the blackberry glaze The only thing left on my plate was the bone, and it was calling my name. So I forgot that I was in a public restaurant, with a big beard, I shoved it in my face and picked it clean. I never cease to be amazed at the incredible community I'm part of. I thought the campgrounds itself were clean and well kept. They have toilets and showers (cleaner than other campgrounds I've been to). The sites in the loop I was in were fairly small, but offered privacy. I thought the management was really friendly and helpful. Before we left we had a nice conversation with Robert, who offered us some great camping insight. We were just passing through when we stayed here, but I would come back here to hike some of the trails if I ever had the opportunity to again.
