On my way from Denton, TX to Des Moines, IA my car started to lose power and began running terribly. I limped into Purcell on an early Sunday morning after Thanksgiving. Obviously, there were not repair shops open. Monday AM I started calling around and finally landed on Elliot's. I explained my situation to Robbie and he said he'd "move stuff around". Rolled in to his shop around 8:45AM and he had me out 40 minutes later. I was stranded in Purcell and Robbie came thru for me. He was just plain AWESOME. The repair was fairly simple: bad plug & coil. He charged me $127. Couldn't be happier or more grateful. read more

I never met Robbie, just spoke with him over the phone a few times. He was very cordial and accommodating. Unfortunately, that was about the extent of my favorable experience. He Ohm checked the injectors and claimed that they were good. After seeing there was evidence of an electrical short inside the valve cover he said the truck needed a new wiring harness. I attempted to tell him there had been a short in that area a few years ago and what he was seeing might be from that. He told me the new harness was necessary. A day later the harness was installed but the problem hadn't been corrected. He said he'd have to trace back the wires and it still might require a replacement ecm. Due to conditions beyond his control we just couldn't remain in the area much longer. We made arrangements for the truck and 5th wheel trailer to be transported to our winter residence in Texas. There I took the truck to a well known diesel repair shop. They diagnosed the problem as an injector solenoid that was okay when the truck was cold but, once warmed up, malfunctioned. A day later it was repaired and I was back on the road. My experience is that Robbie may be very good at replacing parts, but not so much at actually diagnosing the problem. That experience cost me over $800. Just be aware of your needs and his abilities to fill them. read more

The worst shop I have ever dealt with. The owner's son quoted me $400 for to replace my heater core, so I consented and left the vehicle with them. I then waited a week and after hearing nothing from them, decided to give them a call and check on my car. They informed me that my car was done and that the job would cost $1300. When I asked why it was so expensive and why they didn't ask my permission, they claimed they had "lost my phone number" (they've never had a problem calling me before, it just so happens that this time, they had problems keeping up with my number). I then had no choice but to pay or let them keep my car. This is where the real problems start. I paid them anyway, even though they refused to honor the price they quoted me. Not one week later, the heater core began leaking on me. I called Elliot and he said "No worries, I stand by my work, bring it back." So I did. They kept it another week, gave me no rental vehicle or compensation for my wait, and then gave it back to me. And what happens this time? The same thing. It leaked on me again just a few days later. I took it back again and repeated the whole process. It wasn't fixed correctly the second time either; it leaked on me again just a few days later. So I took it to them a third time. They claimed it was perfect this time and Id have no more problems. They were wrong though. Several weeks later, my car started overheating. I took it to a different mechanic this time and they said that my heating and cooling system was now compromised. They found Bars Leak in my car. The only conclusion to draw from this is that Elliot got tired of trying to fix my leak and just put that gunk in there so it'd stop leaking and I'd leave him alone. He is a crook and I will never bring any vehicle of mine back to him. Save yourself money and grief and go somewhere else. read more
