Was driving from tampa to atlanta and passed by this place on the interstate. looked kinda interesting so i decided to take a look. BOY was i surprised. pecans of every flavor and topped in every way possible. AND they had SAMPLES. FREE SAMPLES. Being a northern boy going to a southern school, i was alway s weary of getting commercialized pecan desserts, but here I knew exactly what i was getting. I ended up buying coffee coated pecans, dark chocolate coated pecans, and sweat heat pecans. I have to say, the coffee coated pecans are my favorite by far. theyre not really super coffee flavored, but the topping gives it just the right crunch, and the flavoring is really good too. not too sweet, but sweet enough, with just a hint of coffee and caramel flavoring. the sweet heat pecans were pretty unique. i didnt really know what it was like when i first tried itm but they def grew on me. Theyre sweet, but after a bite you can def feel the heat a little bit. so hot, spicy and crunchy. a very unique combination. The dark chocolate pecans are exactly what your imagining, except a little sweeter than the avg dark chocolate. I have to say theyre more of a milk chocolate if anything. Still good. And all this is homemade and delicious. Slightly expensive at about 4 dollars for a box of 8ozs of pecans, but worth every penny. read more

I stopped by here on the road on the way to Florida and sampled pretty much everything in the store and spent $40+ on pecans and I get in my car and open a pack of pecans and the first one I pull out has a small white worm crawling on it. I didn't think to take a picture before throwing it out the window... so so so grossed out now because I tried so many different things in that store edit: in addition to that, the tongs used to sample the snacks were filthy and the service was mediocre read more

Irene's Fruit Cake is the best ever! My friends were passing through GA on their way to Florida and told me they always stop there for treats. Lucky for me they bought a 1lb loaf of this delicious fruit cake for me that was the best I've ever had bar none! This is not a fruit cake meant for the holidays, it's so good, you can eat it year round for snack and dessert and never tire of it. Definitely not the typical Christmas joke fruitcake that you regift just to get rid of it! Just wish the place were closer because kinda pricey to order online, shipping is more than the fruitcake itself! read more

We stopped in while driving back home from Florida, having been told by someone we met that we just HAD to go. And I can say now that it is definitely a worthwhile stop to make. They have countless varieties if pecans, as well as some peanuts, almonds, and coffee beans. There are samples available for most of these options and will leave you needing something to drink. We ended up buying 16oz of chocolate covered espresso beans, 1/4 peck of peaches, and a Gatorade for about $14. read more

I really like that the all pecans they sell are grown by the establishment and candied (as well as peppered, spiced, covered in chocolate, etc.) ON SITE! The majority of the jarred foods are actually made by them, too. They have samples of just about everything available. You could easily put yourself into a sugar coma if you try all the sweet pecans. The sugar-free items were surprisingly tasty. Savory varieties were also good. For an interesting and almost addictive taste, try the Sweet Heat Pecans. Prices are reasonable. Sadly they were out of their famous homemade peach ice cream. I look forward to returning when peaches are in season. read more

First there were huge signs all over the freeway, then there was hundreds of free samples, finally there was me leaving with 10 different kinds of Pecans. What a find this place was! I was driving from Chicago to Orlando and this was such a unique tasty treat. They have very fair prices and a HUGE selection. We will be coming back here on our way back through Georgia. read more

Great shop just 3 minutes off the freeway. HUGE variety of goods available in just about any combination. I bought some fresh peaches, apple butter, Vidalia Onion Honey Mustard salad dressing, couple of pecan logs and some home made pecan pralines. They had so many good things I could have spent hours in there just browsing but I'd have probably come out with half the shop. Prices were VERY reasonable. The guy at the cash register wasn't very friendly but they were pretty busy so maybe he was just a bit overwhelmed. Over all the experience was good enough that I won't take that small thing away from their rating. I have to mention they sold a LOT of homemade ice cream while I was in there. This is a great place to spot for goodies to take home (or for on the road). We stop by on our way up to AND back from Chicago each year. Their pecans, peaches, breads, jams, syrups, brittles, etc are all fantastic! The butter pecan praline ice cream is deeeeelish. They have a cute assortment in the gift shop area. Terrible terrible terrible!!!! The peaches were all rotten and busted up... I mean huge gashes that the gnats were feasting on. Apparently gnats were bad this time of year, but come on! They could have been more diligent about keeping them out!!! Samples were all covered in bugs and there was zero monitoring and many kids sticking their dirty hands in the sample boxes after licking their fingers. Great customer service. Samples a plenty with sanitary prongs to pick out. Very good pecan brittle. Handmade ice cream in multiple flavors but no vanilla this trip. Kids enjoyed the mint chip. Jams and preserves in many flavors including more exotic flavors like hot cinnamon peach preserves and pecan peach preserves to the standard gala apple and regular old peach preserves and jams. Loved it!!! it's a nice quiet farm feeling spot not too far away from the highway. There is a small picnic table under a tree that has a the most amazing view where you can seat and eat. The prices in the store are great considering is a tourist like destination. They also have ice cream but we sampled so many nuts and treats we were too full to try it. We had stopped by this to shop at Ellis Bros several times previously and aside from the ho hum attitude of their help, we found the nuts and their peach ice cream to be worth the trip. This past week end however, we were beyond disappointed. As a matter of fact, we were also disgusted. The same ambivalent service that we kind of expected, this time, the samples in most cases were little pieces, and many jars, unfilled. The peach ice cream that we enjoyed in the past was a fay cry from "real" peach. it appeared to be a massed produced knock off. Artificial flavor and color and NO peach chunks in it as in the past. The worse was yet to come. My wife attempted to use the ladies room before we left, but came out with a horrified face. It seems that the ladies room was not just filthy, it had feces all over the floor and the toilet was filled with it. The smell was awful. When she told one of the employees about it, she was told it was not their job and it would have to wait until workers came back from the fields. ???. Quite unfortunate that while we looked forward to this trip expecting what we had experienced in the past, we could never bring ourselves to stop he in the future. read more

I loved this place. It was just minutes from the highway but felt hours away. They had every chocolate covered nut concoction you could think of. We purchased some chocolate covered pecans, some snickerdoodles, and a pecan roll. When we went to check out the guy at the counter gave my daughter a free scoop of ice cream. We headed outside to sit at the picnic table and eat our purchased wares. OMG...the pecan roll was amazing as were the chocolate covered pecans and snickerdoodles. The only downside was that we were under constant attack from gnats. I felt like Britain during WW II and the gnats were the luftwaffe. I know this is not their fault as these gnats were everywhere in Vienna. I give Ellis Brothers Pecans 4 Doubledays. read more

A little off the beaten path but the pecans are great. My complaint is with their Peach Salsa. Beware, it should be labeled: Garlic Salsa with Peaches! Who would ever think that adding garlic to a sweet, fruity salsa would be a good idea? Yuk!!! So disappointed. I grew up in the vicinity of Ellis Brothers Pecans. You won't find better pecans or pecan goodies anywhere. Their pralines are to die for. The mini pecan pies are delish. The various types of coated pecans are unreal! It is worth a drive off of the interstate to check them out. Every time I go home, I go and stock up. This is the best place I've found to buy fresh Georgia pecans. I'm a native Georgia girl who loves using pecans in salads, cookies, pies or for just snacking. The selection here is broad and there are free samples to try while deciding. I ALWAYS stop here when traveling I-75. The shop is clean and well organized. Don't get discouraged when the shop isn't right at the exit. It is a short ride down the road and a great place to stretch your legs plus shop for great Georgia pecans. Recently I bought gift tins for Christmas to give to business associates and neighbors. I have mixed feelings because the nuts are good though I found better prices at Costco, just not the variety. They offer tons of samples which is a good. However, the issue I had was with the two young employees on Sunday, July 26, 2015. They treated an older shopper horribly. The customer was checking out and I watched the two employees ignore her as they talked about something going on behind the scenes (basic gossip). As the woman turned to leave I heard her say, "wow" and she looked like she was about to burst into tears. I thought maybe something had broken or been damaged because while the girls were gossiping they were working, but the customer said she felt invisible. That's it, she didn't scream, shout, made a scene, she simply said she felt invisible. The employees became incredibly defensive and outright mocked her, clearly trying to humiliate and shame her. It was bad and the woman left clearly upset. I continued shopping but later when it was my turn to check out the girls were still being openly mocking and rude regarding that customer. There was no need for their treatment of her and quite honestly, I can't imagine what they sad about me after I left. So be forewarned if you're over 50 that you're probably not going to be appreciated or treated very well. read more
