Rude staff, incompetent nurse practitioner. I have been coming here for about 6 years and used to love it when Heather Leazure was here. Now I have had to deal with incorrectly written scripts every time which require me to revisit the office to have them rewritten. This time, their lack of experience and skill have left me without my medication for over two weeks now. When I attempt to get someone to adjust the script I get nothing but attitude from the front desk including being mocked and laughed at. Go elsewhere unless you want to have to micromanage your prescriptions and deal with the overworked (and probably underpaid) staff's snarky and impatient demeanor. read more

I have been going to this office for the past 5 years and have always been satisfied. Granted I saw his P.A. but I loved seeing her, and the office staff was efficient. Something changed. I came back for a scheduled yearly check up and most of the staff had been replaced. Including my wonderful P.A. My wait was 3 hours. Not even kidding. I didn't even get to a room till the the 2.5 hour mark (after I went to the front desk to inquire) The new N.P. was abrupt. No bedside manner at all. This place is AWFUL. I have been coming in for more than 10 years. The bulk of the time my experience was excellent. Dr Ellison helped me get over some personal problems and in the 10 years since, I have kept him as my PCP. Zero complaints about him. Caring, optimistic, helpful. Then, along comes Krystal Cherapan. I don't know what unhappy hell she came from, but talk about a 180 flip. I manage a finance department and have very little spare time, so I just figured I'd tough it out. Just because she has the attitude and demeanor of a prison guard, who am I to judge? So I kept up with her until I got a breaking point. She started messing with the doses as well as making getting a refill like pulling teeth. Forget refills, suddenly I have to come in in person each time. Keep in mind, the two prescriptions I have were both suggested by this office, and I personally cut the dosing to a third of what I used to take. The worst part of my month started being dealing with them. From the several hour wait when forced for come in for a refill visit, to overall crappy attitude and unavailability of Krystal, I think she should consider a career change. Concentration camp guard is more in line with her personality. You might think I am being harsh. Especially when you consider her diminutive size. Trust me, I am not. She is like Cerebus, the multi-headed dog guarding Hades. It is a shame that she reflects so poorly on an otherwise excellent practice. However, Dr Ellison is retiring, and somehow she has been left in charge. She should be organizing the next Purge, not dealing with people. I could write an novel on her deficiencies. I don't have the time. I have to work. But today was the last straw. After 3 weeks of trying to orchestrate a refill on a non-addictive drug that she personally prescribed me, and being assured it would be taken care of by the very helpful front desk ladies, but the ignored by Krystal. She was probably busy in the back drowning kittens or picking the legs off spiders. So I just called and fired her. Don't put yourself in a position where she has power over you. The only possible answer I see to her behavior is that she truly delights in screwing around with people's lives. The front desk ladies and assistants are all pleasant and helpful. I feel bad for them that they have to be the face of the office. It's like being the spokesperson for a cigarette company. A difficult position to put a positive spin on. They are lovely and you can tell that this is a common occurrence. Anyway I recommend that you go anywhere but here. A paraplegic homeless person drunk off his ass on mouthwash and Purell would give you better help than Krystal. As for Krystal, I hear that the prison in Florence is looking for workers. That would be a perfect fit for you! For me, I'm going to go ahead and find a normal doctor on my side of town. I am a business professional with a high income. I'm going to find a doctor that values my time and I will stick with him or her. You have been warned. I just called the Arizona Medical Association to file a complaint against this doctor from 3 to 4 years ago. I was actually working in the office. He came back from lunch one day w NO SHIRT, saw patients the rest of the afternoon with a lab coat, and no shirt on! Bizarre! I'm an RN, & 1 day saw a MA Katrina, call in a script to a pharmacy for a scheduled narcotic, W/O DR'S CONSENT, EARLY, & AT AN INCREASED DOSAGE. I reported to the Office Mgr, Jill, immediately. Next day, came in. Dr Ellison called me into his office and ask if I had a problem with Katrina calling in a prescription. I said "she didn't call it in; she wrote a prescription. She practiced medicine without a license. Don't you have a problem with it?" My last day in the Nut House. He called the Nursing Board on me, told them I have a personality disorder. I've never had a doctor's office that treated the patients so poorly. The staff is rude and give you an attitude for general questions. I've gone there 3 times since December and each time seems like I'm a huge hassle for the staff. They need to hire more people as it's evident that there are not enough people there, which is completely ridiculous to me to begin with since they are never open. Office hours are 7-3 but closed over lunch for an hour and no nights or weekends. My previous doctor left the office I used to go to and that's the only reason I changed, it's apparent that I will be continuing to look for another doctor. The latest visit I waited 20 minutes past my appointment time, no pleasantries - just shown the room where they took my vitals and I was met by the practitioner who took 2 minutes to read my blood results (could have been done via phone) and then left and had a prescription written. The prescription confused the pharmacist and couldn't be released to me until someone clarified at the doctor's office. I called and was put on hold the first time and bounced around for awhile until I was told the woman who wrote the script wasn't in and I had to wait until the following day. You're telling me no one can tell me about my prescription there? Are there no other professionals in the office qualified? The following day I called back since it was apparent no one was going to take the initiative to call me and I sat on hold for almost an HOUR. Unacceptable. It's unfortunate that this is happening and I am shocked this office is even open. read more

We have been patients at Dr. Ellison's practice for over 15 years and sadly, we have severed our ties. The past few years the entire office has gone downhill right before our eyes. The staff is HIDEOUS and RUDE, the turnover seems to be very high. We received bills for "no-show appointments" that we did cancel (I have phone records to prove this) for $200. They cancelled and rescheduled numerous appointments due to Dr. Ellison being sick-my daughter changed her work schedule and drove across town for them to call 20 minutes prior to her appointment to cancel with NO apology. WOW! I am kind of stunned reading these bad reviews. I am a current patient at Dr. Ellison office and couldn't be more happy. I was very very pleased with every single staff member I encountered and not one person from his staff walked past without saying hello. I read these other reviews and it blows my mind that people who arrive late to an appointment or no show at a busy doctors office get upset when they have to wait behind people that arrive on time or pay a fee for wasting an appointment time. Let's get to my real reason for this 5 star review. If you want a doctor who will listen to your concerns and put you on the right path to a normal healthy life look no further. I can only speak for myself when I say that Dr. Ellison listened to my issues. Explained why I'm wrong and educated me on my issues. He put me on meds and explained what to expect. Within a few months my blood work was perfect and life is beyond great. Want more proof he is the best?! I referred a closed minded friend to Dr. Ellison to be treated for addiction he swore he didn't have caused by getting over prescribed meds by another doctor. Within a few short visits the doctor had him off all pain meds and back to a normal life. Sorry for such a long review but it's just getting old reading reviews about how people are so upset for not getting their way it seems. Once again if you need a doctor with proven results I can honestly say look no further...Dr. Ellison is the man!!! He might not have popcorn and candy or time to hear about your puppy but he will fix whatever health problem that's concerning you. P.S. Horrible experience today! Turned away from our appointment because we arrived 5 minutes before the scheduled appointment. We've been established patients for over 15 years. We didn't have paperwork to take care of, or a copay...they are now very strict about arriving 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment or you'll have to come back another time! I've been a patient here since February 2014. In the 1st year I primarily saw Dr. Ellison. Dr. Ellison seemed to really care, and I felt like he listened to me, made sure we were on a manageable treatment plan. For the past year +, I've seen Nurse Practitioner, Leann. I've been very happy with the level of care, attention, I've received from this office. The Medical Assistants take time to chat w/me, and are all pretty cool. LeAnn is outstanding to work with. She never makes me feel that she is in a big rush, write a prescription, then leave. No, she is not only kind & patient, but, very knowledgeable. I feel very comfortable with me & my wife's Health Care being in "her hands". Also, my job requirements are pretty spontaneous. The Front Desk has been incredibly accommodating when I need to shift an appointment to another day or time. Also, on very rare occasion, I've had to cancel an appt. on short notice. I was very grateful they chose not to charge me the $20.00 co-pay like my previous Family Practitioner did. When I first started going there It was very nice and Dr Ellison seemed very easy to talk to and very helpful and the staff was wonderful. Now the staff is rude and nobody pays attention to what you are saying and they prescribe you shit that makes no sense at all and after a couple years things went bad in my life and I went in and tested positive for street drugs... and after that I was totally fucking treated WORSE than shit. At the time that the stupid bitch told me I could never come back there, they had given me a bunch of wrong prescriptions and also I had been in twice and been misdiagnosed and was NEVER checked nor treated for a kidney infection. Went to my Dr appointment at 830 called in told them I was running late and they said np . So I show up and they tell me I have to reschedule. The ladies at front desk were really rude and basically acted like they didn't want me there at all. Worse experience at a Dr office ever. Wouldn't go back if they paid me. I have been seeing Dr Ellison for over 20 years and have noticed a complete change over the past 2 years that has made me find another Dr. The staff has changed over and does not care about patients, does not return calls, is rude to the point of hanging up on me. I woke that day with my left hand not being able to move at all, no other signs of stroke and I had the appointment in a few hours. I started going there for addiction/detox. After that was very quickly discussed I asked the PA/DR (who was rude and never told me if she was a Dr. or PA) something like, "I can't move my left hand at all since I woke up, is there anything you can do?" She then asked if they're my primary care office and when I said no she told me just stretch it. A hand that I'm not able to move AT ALL, a medical professional's advice is to just stretch it, that's the only thing said about it. Ended up going to the ER after that and it was a pinched nerve. They took a urine analysis and sent it to a lab in Oklahoma (which was never mentioned to me) to be analyzed, which wasn't covered by my insurance. I thought the office claimed it had its own lab but if I'm wrong, there are plenty of labs in the Phoenix metro area. Why would it be sent to an Oklahoma lab.....? Very questionable business actions to say the least, rude receptionists and very unhelpful medical team that want you in and out as quick as possible. read more

This office has a horrible staff! I made an appointment that took me 5 weeks to get into. And this was only to see the Nurse Practitioner. I arrived at my appointment time, and was told that because I did not arrive 30 min. before my appointment that they could not see me. I was not told to arrive early. All I needed was a prescription to be refilled. Now they wanted to re-schedule! I waited 5 weeks for the first appointment! You have got to be kidding me! Dr. Gregory Ellison is that rare physician you can be completely open and truthful with and not feel judged. I consulted him for addiction, depression and chronic fatigue. He prescribed two medications that are life changing! He is honest, compassionate, willing to go the extra mile for you, and really listens. We talked about addiction, I learned new things from him. He also has a sense of humor which really helps when you are struggling and feeling low. I know I can trust him I'm glad he is part of my treatment team! His staff is just wonderful, I particularly liked Michelle who also went out of her way to help me. The paperwork Dr. Ellis created is extremely detail oriented, you know he wants to learn the most he can about his patients. They were not standard boilerplate forms. His office is lovely and pleasant. He also has multiple specializations, there is very little Dr. Ellison can't help you with! Office staff is great! On the other hand I worked for this Doctor for 2 years he fired me my last month​ of pregnancy even though​ I was still very active and stayed on top of helping patients. I have been seeing Dr. Ellison for sometime. Recently he made a huge mistake with some of his staff. The front desk girls are rude and the wait time was horrible being left on hold. I could have watched a movie in the mean time. I get there and am told I am seeing the new NP. I was confused. They were referring to him as a doctor, but he is a nurse. maybe hes both. I don't know. My recent experience with Dr. Ellison was horrible. He needs to retire because his attitude is very negative. He is very patronizing and very rude and was not interested in listening to me or why I made the appointment. He does not communicate well with his staff. He left me in the room for an extra 30 min when the nurse finally came in asking why I was still in the room. I needed the nurse to write up a referral for blood work which she did and was very nice about it. I would recommend that you stay away from Dr. Ellison. Dr. Ellison is the most effective and thoughtful doctor I have ever been in the care of. His entire team treat you as if you had been there since day one and they have never judge d me or my treatment in any negative manner. Dr. Ellison, has a way to view your symptoms and create a personal treatment plan that is tailored for only you. Dr Ellison has given me back my life and a quality of life I never thought I would experience again. I also have to say his office staff are always willing to do just a little more than you would expect, thus allowing you to benefit from a whole body treatment plan designed by the Ellison team. I have been a patient of Dr. Ellison for 10 years now, but will not be going back due to poor office management, inconsistent patient care, antiquated hand-record keeping, and terrible phone service. If this had occurred only once or twice, I could have been accepting of it. Dr. Ellison has a very frequent turnover of his nurse practitioners, medical assistants, and office staff, causing inconsistency. He has had some excellent and caring NPHs who are no longer there. Hmm...wonder why. Dr. Ellison's level of care varies from appt. to appt. Sometimes he listens, other times he does not. Sometimes he seems hyper, other times, focused. He generally wants to prescribe compounded meds or newer brand-name meds that are not generic, and are expensive. His office consistently says they have not received faxes from my pharmacy, when I know they were sent several times. I have delayed changing physicians but, unfortunately, it is now time.
