    Discovery weekend :) new place!
    Deborah N.

A great escape and hideaway! Weather was gorgeous, beautiful, and perfectly suited for their large outdoor patio! Props to my sister for finding this little new restaurant in OTS (Old Town Spring) !! Can't take all the credit, but one thing we weren't expecting during our meal was trains passing through while we were eating. It was REALLY loud!! Squeaky, tootin' the horn, desperately needing WD-40 type of screechy sound, ha! Summer was our server, and greeted us with kind and friendly service throughout our dine in experience! She was super sweet and accommodating to us and was very patient while we figured out what to order! Parents! If you have kids, there's an outdoor lounge area and there's a soccer ball and plenty of room to run around while you eat and watch them within safe sight! :) a perk for sure! Now let's get to the good stuff! Food!!! We ordered the crispy Brussels sprouts, the crab cake, the Tex-Mex Benedict, the crispy pork cutlet sandwich, and the lamb shank! Recommend you try their truffle fries and duck confit...they are popular but we opted to order other dishes. The Brussels sprouts were seasoned and baked well. The crab cakes were lightly battered and crispy. The mashed sweet potato with pecans that came with the lamb shank was not too sweet so it really complimented the dish well. I will say, the hollandaise sauce was a bit bland, and so was the rest of what was on the Tex-Mex Benedict...it flat lined in terms flavor for us. But the crispy pork sandwich was Delish! Best discovery and surprise of this place was their extensive and amazing drink list! They had "Hell or High" watermelon beer and it was love at first sight! I had only tried and seen this beer in Seattle at a local restaurant, and never found it anywhere in Houston until now. Made my day!!! All in all, food was great! Service was great! And weather was gorgeous! Can't ask for a better experience! Will definitely come back!

Chef Joe is the culinary maestro at Elm & Magnolia. All his creations are nirvana for your palate and his nightly specials are, well, always special! Ask for Jason, our Rock Star server! And tell Chef Joe and his lovely wife, Maria, that the Mad Sausage King sent you

    Perfect weather for this patio!

My friend and I came for brunch on Saturday. We had such a pleasant experience. The weather was a perfect spring day with a really nice fresh breeze! We ordered the island juice mimosas- suggested by Sabrina who we absolutely loved! For the food we ordered the Duck plate, Chicken & waffles, and a salad. Both were tasty!! We moved to a rosé which Sabrina ended bagging for us to take home. We also had a nice conversation with Zay. The entire staff here is awesome! I would recommend this place. Beautiful outdoor setting. It will be nice to catch the live music sometime!

Joe the owner and head chef should be working with Gordon Ramsay! The food at Elm is beyond fabulous! The ambiance is cozy and always appropriate, with live music on weekends. The staff are attentive and friendly. Jason (bartender) is the bomb, as is Danielle-a fantastic server at Elm. The menu features affordable yet high end selections. You wiill not be disappointed!

This place is a hidden gem. The service was amazing and super friendly. I felt like I was back home at a local spot. The lobster ravioli did not disappoint. I was worried it would be too heavy but it was not at all. There were local patrons who clearly love the place. The outdoor space looked amazing, would be great when the weather permits.

If you're looking to experience dining in an authentic Texas town this is it. It's away from the hustle and bustle of the city. I went for brunch on Sunday morning when they first opened. They have a few items on the brunch menu, but you can order for the main menu. I tried the chicken and waffles. It was alright: one of the tenders were cold in the middle.. it was pretty new on their menu so maybe they hadn't gotten it yet. Aside from that they were very tender and juicy! They have $6 mimosas and "the set up" which is $25 for a bottle of champagne and orange juice. They have a large field with games where kids can play, and a stage for live bands.

Me and hubs enjoyed a light dinner here. Everything was very flavorful (especially the crispy duck which was devoured before we snapped a pic). We liked the ambiance.. the older crowd (everyone appeared 37+) was refreshing and the folky music was nice. Service was a bit slow but we enjoyed the change of pace. This isn't fast food. Will definitely be returning.

Super cute, quaint lil spot in Old Town Spring. You can tell that the chef takes pride in everything he puts on a plate. So many good dishes to choose from. They also make great drinks at the bar.

Wow! Brunch is a must here! My new favorite place in Old Town Spring! $6 mimosas, or, best yet...$25 gets you the entire bottle of brut champagne and a carafe of your favorite juice! (Orange, pineapple, cranberry, etc). The crabcake Benedict's were to die for, and the southwest version has the perfect blend of tangy (Hollandaise sauce) and savory (feta cheese). Ask for a side of bread, which is served warm and with creamy garlic butter...can't be beat. Lovely outdoor seating, reasonable prices, huge portions and amazing presentation. I'll be back!

All these years later and it's still my favorite pizza place. I hadn't been in quite a while before this past weekend, so I was a little nervous that it had changed and maybe wouldn't be as good anymore. Much to my pleasant surprise, everything was exactly as I remembered it! I wish I had gotten the name of the woman who took our order. She was so kind & genuinely seemed to enjoy interacting with customers. I didn't see my usual favorite (Mr. Potato Head) on the menu so I assumed they discontinued it. However, we asked after we ordered and she said it's still a menu item! So I'll have to make sure to go back and get it the next time. My husband and I split a chicken Caesar salad and a medium pizza, though we could've easily gone down to a small size. They really don't cheat you out of toppings & that's one thing I'll always appreciate about this restaurant! I'm eager to bring it back into my local restaurant lunch rotation.

Now full transparency, my husband is a New Yorker, and by his standards it was average for NY pizza. But judging by my Houston palate I thought it was good. The calzone was my favorite. Adding the optional ricotta made all the difference. It took it from a 4 to a 7. The only downside was the pepperoni. I could literally count the slices and wished there were more. That said, the bread texture was wonderful, and that same great texture carried over to the garlic knots, which I really enjoyed. I think trying meatball, or a supreme (heavier on the meat) version would be fantastic. When I go back I'll that and be sure to update. We also tried the chicken parm sub. It was okay, though my husband thought it was subpar. Personally, I think the tomato sauce did a lot of the heavy lifting flavor-wise. Surprisingly, I really liked the cannoli filling, which says a lot because I usually don't care for cannolis. They often don't taste like much to me, but this one did. The inside of the place is very quaint and mom-and-pop, which I loved. Service was great. I ordered to go, was told 20-25 minutes, and the food was ready in about half that time. All in all, this is a solid pizza place for locals, and I'd absolutely come back to try more items on the menu. I want to try the original place and see if it's better. I mean, it should taste the same right? (Will update when I find this out).
