Decided to try out elm finally and it was very much enjoyable. We started off with the escargot stuffed mushrooms and they were phenomenal. I ordered the Seabass and my boyfriend had the the pork Paso and I was astonished by the meal! I had never tasted anything like that Seabass and the pork was fall off the bone. We finished off with some carrot cake and you could definitely tell it was homemade, not to mention it was so moist and delicious. Also, the wine list was exceptional and reasonably priced. Last thing I want to mention is our server... Kristen, absolutely amazed. One of the most charismatic, attentive, and profoundly knowledgeable servers I've ever had. She was very quick and you could just tell she was a hard worker, juggling multiple tables at once with ease. I am very pleased with my visit and will be returning soon. read more

The absolute best NY Italian food in all of Houston. The chicken parmigiana and chicken Marsala are some of the best you will ever have and their cannolis are the best I've ever had- and I'm from NY/NJ! My only disappointment is that we didn't come sooner! One of the few places near by where my husband and I were able to enjoy an amazing meal while our kids played on the massive lawn happily. Unbelievable! This is my first time giving 5 stars! This place is a diamond in the ruff. The Chief is apparently a well seasoned chief from New York. I travel around a lot and me being from Chicago and taking a bite of his food truly brought a tear to my eye. Aha yes joy and laughter followed. Truly unbelievable. Five stars! My husband and I tried Elm & Magnolia this evening. We absolutely loved the honey, ginger, soy-glazed wings that were the special appetizer! I ordered short rib with mashed potatoes and husband ordered a pizza. The short rib was pretty good. Mashed potatoes were a little dry. My husband enjoyed the pizza. We took 2 slices of carrot cake home for dessert. Very disappointing. It was very dry and tasted old. Not sure if this is made in house or store bought. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Prices are a bit high for the quality of the food. Not sure if we'll be back. read more

The Italian Joint has passed. We mourn the loss of Black Sheep Bistro. But never fear, Joe and Maria have rose like the Terminator at Elm & Magnolia, and the greatness continues! We enjoyed a wonderful meatball appetizer that was a staple at the Italian Joint. Then my wife had an incredible pasta dish, while I had their game changing pizza. To finish, we has a fantastic 7 or 8 layer chocolate cake. A limited wine selection, but good wines. And now, good beer on tap! Unfortunately they were out of the best tiramisu on the planet, but that happens. My only other suggestion... maybe a cocktail list? How about a Snookie sunrise? How about a Lufthansa Air Heist surprise? Or maybe a Goom-Ba goodnight? While we are at it, how about a 350 lbs. doorman in sunglass who constantly says "forgettabutitt"? Cocktails and wine were good. The squash blossoms and brussels sprouts were great. The flatbread was not good at all. Seemed like a frozen Totino's pizza. Service was good. Ambiance is very casual. We had brunch Here this past Sunday. Food was AMAZING! There were 6 adults and 2 kids. So we had a variety and it was all amazing. I would be giving 5 starts except we had a bad experience with service. The waitresses were great. They said they were short staffed and were still extremely pleasant and did all they could. Bad part was the chef took our order, I assume because they were short staffed. He wasn't that pleasant. I'd almost say he was completely rude. I get it. You're the chef. But it wasn't us that asked you to take our order. We'd have rather waited and had a waitress. We asked his recommendation on two entrees. His response was short and extremely unhelpful. That's when we realized he wasn't thrilled to be talking to us. Then it came to the kids and we asked if they could just do a waffle or something as there's no kids menu. He's response was 'this is our menu'. Seeming like 'what you see is it' he realized a 2 year old wouldn't eat what they served and saw 6 adults trying to struggle with what the hell to order and shrugged and said he could scramble some eggs. I think he finally realized how rude it all was. Other than this it was amazing!!!! And will actually even go back. We know crap happens. Just know customers would probably rather wait for wait staff than be treated like crap. read more

Daughter and SIL were going to be out in our area for Father's Day, so I searched for a brunch location. E&M piqued my interest. We were seated promptly (w/o reservations). The service was good, and the food was great. Wife and I had the Tex-Mex Benedict, which was avocado, chorizo, poached eggs and Hollandaise on an English muffin. They were great, as the chorizo was spicy, and had very little grease. Daughter had chicken & waffles, which she liked, and SIL had the breakfast tacos (egg & chorizo, with a bunch of toppings). Ordered a side of bacon, which was large enough for everyone to share. Would highly recommend for brunch, and is now going to be on my list of places to frequent. read more

We ventured out Friday night when the bars first opened from the quarantine and this area was hopping. No parking anywhere. Elm & Magnolia had a band playing so it was very fun and crowded. We did make a reservation so our table was perfect out on the deck. Our waiter was Ariel (who is usually the hostess) and she was working extremely hard to make sure we had great service!! She did great!! The food was delicious and the wine too. We had the pork belly salad (our favorite from Black Sheep Bistro) and the flaming cheese!! The cheese is so good and the pita bread was a perfect accompaniment. It is so fun when she lit it on fire. We also had the shrimp and steak chimichurri which were both yummy. We loved it and will be back soon. We also saw the owner wiping everything down as people were leaving. read more

My wife and I have ordered takeout from here twice. We were very impressed both times. Some of the standout dishes were the pork belly noodle salad, the beet salad, the brussels sprouts, the shrimp pasta, and the spicy shrimp tapas. Parking was a little rough. It's next to a saloon and the lot was very busy. Was hoping for an experience similar to Black Sheep Bistro. It's not quite there. The wait staff was super friendly and polite, but seemed to be perpetually short handed, and the restaurant was not even full. For the menu, we looked it up before we left and just about everything was different when we got there. I would highly recommend the sprouts, and The Spicy Garlic Shrimp. Actually, for the shrimp, order one as an appetizer AND one for your entree. It's really that flavorful and incredible! Also, half our bill was alcohol. That was only 3 drinks...3. We had really loved Black Sheep and heard that these two had merged. Would prolly try to interject more of the Black Sheep Bistro vibes into the new establishment. read more

I've been going to this Restaurant since it first opened. The owners are wonderful people and always have courteous, friendly and knowledgeable staff working. Went last night with my husband and a girlfriend. My husband had the Special, a Bison Ribeye with Truffle fries. OMG it was too die for. My friend and I split the Shrimp appetizer and the Brussels Sprouts. The Brussels Sprouts are the best around the area. We also had the Cheese Appetizer which was also wonderful and served hot. My wife and I have been here many times. I love the Steak & Fries, my wife loves the chicken. However, we've tried many other things, Lobster Ravioli, Sea Bass, all were amazing.
