Delavan streets (like any streets and sidewalks) are brutal on the knees and difficult to enjoy when having to keep a watch out for passing traffic. Congdan Park has become a savior to my fitness. The park is mostly comprised of a pond for fishing with a surrounding .9 mile trail. There are gardens with picnic tables and a water fountain on the west side, which is beautiful in the summer. The trail is relatively quiet, so I haven't had trouble taking laps around the pond, and it's really quite lovely to rest up afterwards in the gardens. One drawback is that the park is right next to highway 43, but if you're going to try and make an area more beautiful why green around the pavement? It's a lovely area that wont be lost on its visitors.

We even got married in the gazebo in 2009. Ya this place is deeply imbedded in my heart. The care taker rob is an amazing guy that keeps the park clean and safe and will help anyone out whenever needed. I don't think everyone here realizes how much he does and how great he does it!! There are 4 very nice parks with a lot of the same equipment that i grew up with but are in great shape. There are also plenty of new additions. There is also 2 basketball courts, a volleyball court, 4 shuffleboard courts, a baseball diamond, a huge private beach and plenty more. Great fishing is to be had from the boat launch pier if you don't have your own pier. My grandparents had this cottage when i was a kid and now my parents own the cottage. I hope my kids will bring there future kids to experience everything we have. Any time i have a few days off work this is where i want to be. A lot of cottages rent them out so if your looking for a nice get away avoid lake geneva and rent a cottage here.

The Fest was at Echo Veterans this year. The park is fantastic with great views, a walking path, clean restrooms, etc. I figured the food was pretty good, and cheap, although I did hear some people complaining that $2 for an ear of corn was too much. The brats were $3 each, also there were hot dogs, burgers, beer & soda (oops I mean pop), nachos, and pickle-on-a-stick for sale. There were 15 or 20 different craft vendors selling stuff like blankets, candle holders, wood carvings, etc. The permanent play ground was getting a lot of use due to all the kids there. The plastic on the slides was smokin' hot even though it was kind of windy and barely 70 degrees out. Beautiful brat eating weather though. Had lunch at Oak Fire which was great and some good old fashioned ice cream at Kilwins. Lake was very peaceful. Clean, well maintained area. Has a number of restaurants, many shops, very quaint. Parking is a challenge though. It was hard to find and apparently very closely monitored so watch out for tickets! The apps make it easy to extend time as needed. They also have a Safari experience (we weren't able to make it to the drive through Safari due to ticket unavailability) but seems like a good place to see. They have boat tours as well and boats to rent (although pretty pricey). Overall would recommend!

Limited paid parking; then we found the free parking lots a few blocks away. The area we hung out at had a small sandy beach. Other things to do in town: Events, shopping, arts & entertainment, golf courses, hiking, biking, lake activities, museums, orchards & farms, parks, petting zoo, horseback riding, spas & salons, water parks, camps, retreats, fall & winter activities, theater, etc. And of course my favorite places - Breweries, wineries, distillers, etc. Atmosphere - See above. Open 7 days a week, year round. Service - Good, from the shopping experience for my wife to the eating & drinking experience for my daughter and I. Price - Depends on what you buy, eat, or drink. This short little trail can be walked in less than ten minutes and may not offer much in the way of…read morebreathtaking natural splendor, but I did see or hear at least ten different kinds of birds, including several warblers. The trail itself is a mix of wood chips and mowed grass, and a few sections may pose a challenge to people with problems balancing on uneven ground. That said, there was no poison ivy anywhere close to the trail. The trail criss-crosses with the Van Slyke Creek, a creek that is roughly 8' wide and rolls along at a decent clip. If you're patient and have good timing, you can see trout and other fish as well as frogs. For younger children, there are a few stations at which the book "Old Shell, New Shell" are posted. To read this start to finish, one should start the trail at the Mill House Pavilion at the west end of the trail, close to the Fontana Elementary School.

My 8 year old daughter…read moreand I spent the morning tracking birds with our Merlin Bird ID sound app and picked up 33 species including 2 rare species. We also saw a gorgeous velvet buck about 30 feet away. The Children's park has a garden area, natural play area, worm digging and a fishing stream along with little bamboo fishing poles. We look forward to coming back to explore more!
