My family has been coming to Saint Germain for 13 years. My son's love Elmer's and look forward to having a race and some ice cream- it's always a highlight of the trip. The pricing is fair for the go karts and staff is friendly. They play mini golf too. It's a basic course but a nice break from the track. We don't ride horses so I can't review that part. read more

The facility is nice but the staff are not friendly! They were barking at me about the rules but I couldn't hear em over the go kart and then they just yelled louder and kinda got aggravated at me. Fun spot for the kids right outside of Eagle River. Whenever we visit, the kids always want to go Go-Karting. Go-karting is $8pp/ride and they have two tracks. Bring cash - and expect your change in $1 coins. They also have a stable, playground, mini golf, and arcade. read more

Great place. Mini golf is a good course right next to the ice cream shop. They've got two go kart tracks and we did one of them a couple times. Compared to the Kartway place in Eagle River (which is also great) one neat thing about the track next to mini golf is that it bounces you around on the wooden bridges. And there are spots where you (or at least novices like me) have to actually lay off full throttle on some turns. They've got the kids area with bouncy castle, playset and the 12 V trucks to drive. Note that the kids area doesn't take the tokens(like the other amenities). There's some food available in the ice cream shop. read more

Elmers has been a part of our summer vacation for years, it is always fun but in recent years with the ownership change you can see all of the improvements the new owners have made to the grounds, offerings, upgrades and updates to systems. They are way better than any other entertainment place in the northwoods. read more

Great family fun! Mini golf was fun and good for all ages. The course was nicely kept up. The go cart track was also nicely kept up. The young staff were knowledgeable and kept everyone safe during the ride. You do buy tokens for the attractions. I recommend cash to avoid the credit card fees. Elmer's is the best place in the north woods. Every year we spend a week in Minocqua but take the 20 minute ride to St. Germain because Elmer's is way above any place in Minocqua. The owners and staff are incredibly friendly and engaged with there customers. They go the extra mile to make sure that everybody has a safe and fun experience. Elmer's does a fantastic job maintaining there facility which helps tremendously with the experience. If you spend anytime with the family in the north woods Elmer's is a must go to place. My whole family(on my wife's side)vacations in Saint Germain every year. For those of you who have vacationed in this area, you know that the town doesn't offer much in the way of activities. But then again, most people aren't coming to Saint Germain so they can visit the mall. People come to this town so that they can get away from everything. One of the few family activities available is Elmer's. It offers three pretty awesome go-kart courses that are well maintained, with lots of hills; a fun yet challenging mini golf course, trail riding, bumper boats and an ice cream shop. Everyone in my family had a great time! My only complaint is with the older, white haired woman that was working the ice cream counter. She was just very unfriendly, and it was kind of a bummer after such a nice day. I would definitely visit here again, but would hope her attitude had improved a bit. read more

Took our grandkids, ages 6-13, up there for something to do. They had a blast. The older boys loved racing the go-karts, the younger ones had a blast mini golfing and they all loved the bumper boats. Next time they want to try some horseback riding. There were mainly teens working the events and they were super nice! Especially the young man working the bumper boats. The 2 youngest in our group couldn't figure out how to get the boats back to dock but he talked them over and had lots of patience with them. Also had ice cream cones-huge for one scoop! I've never been go-karting in my life, but my husband insisted that we hit up a supper club and try go-karting on our pass through Minocqua (not necessarily in that order). A friend recommended this place as a good time, so we headed out. We didn't have to wait long and were soon zooming around the track..,except for my sister who was so scared she was getting lapped by grandma's and stalled out on a hill due to lack of speed. I can't talk as I was totally getting passed by 8 year olds on a regular basis. It was fun, but I can't say I'd rush to go-kart again. The bumper boats are another story - I would do that every day if I could. How have I never tried this before? I will say it's not "safety first" at Elmers as I was completely unaware that go karts had seat belts so I raced without and the staff either didn't notice or didn't care. Bottom line - I had fun at Elmer's and didn't get killed, so that's all that matters. read more

The place is nice but the attitude of the workers is horrible. Maybe we just caught them on a bad day but go karts are meant for a little bumping. If you bump even a little plan on being prepared to get yelled at and threatened to be kicked out of the park. I suggest just buying one ticket at a time. read more

Family fun for everyone. The staff are very friendly and great with kids. Go Karts and 3 tracks are fun and in great condition. Prices are reasonable. Horse ride was great. My wife and 5 year old went together and had a blast. The girls who run the horse area are awesome and brought over a horse for my 2 year old to pet. That made his day. Headed over to the ice cream shop after all the fun and it was also great. Look forward to playing mini golf once the boys are a little bigger. My daughter and I went horseback riding here and it was a great experience. Horse area is clean and they were very friendly. There is a 30 minute horse trail ride or a 45-50. We did the longer one, which was 20 per person. The guide was great. She was friendly, described the area and things to look out for. The trail does go near the river, which was a change from other trails. We will go back next time we are in town. read more

We've been hoping to find a Go-kart place in WI or the Michigan UP and sure enough we found one near Eagle River, down the road along US-70 in nearby St. Germain. Elmer's is a pretty big place and appears to have two separate race tracks for Go-karts. We came around noon on a weekday and it was not busy at all. We were able to get in our carts in a matter of a few minutes after a brief explanation of safety in the vehicles... no banana peels, squid ink, turtle shells, oil slicks or smoke devices to deter opponents. Elmer's has the look and feel of a north woods place, complete with deer heads mounted on the wall behind the ticket window. At $6 a person, it was quite a good deal too. We got to race around a winding track with hills and turns, making for a good family race. Kids can drive their own carts if they are tall enough. My older son who's 10 got to drive his own but my 7 year old rode alongside me in a larger cart for 2 people. The carts don't go too fast but enough to be thrilling to ride since you're so close to the ground and it feels like you are one with the vehicle on every turn you make. There were other racers on another track but we had this one all to ourselves. The crew has a row of carts lined up. You take the first vehicle in line. Once you are seated and buckled up, they start up the engine and you're ready to go. Carts were difficult to steer sometimes, especially when I took a turn at full speed, but I felt the vehicles were safely maintained. You race 3 full laps around the track and you get the checkered flag on the final lap as you reach the finish line and return to the vehicle bay. I think we'll be back again next year when we are in the area once again. read more

Must, must, must visit Elmer's Fun Park! First, the owner is amazing and he goes above-and-beyond to ensure your experience is everything you can imagine. Last year he took the time to ensure my son was comfortable riding a horse. Then we did a long ride on Sliver and that's all my son talked about. This year was all about the batting cages as my son is now in AA little league. The owner did all he could to get those cages working. We so appreciate it. Today, there was an issue with the rain and again, the owner did all he could to ensure we had a great experience. He offered us a credit which was unnecessary. Because of his commitment to customers we just spent more time on the go-karts, eating ice cream and playing in the arcade. I can only imagine how challenging it is to run a business, especially during a pandemic, finding great employees, investing in the many enhancements, and dealing with the crazy weather on top of it all. I just want to say 'thank you" and we will visit Elmer's every time we're in town! read more

Great go-kart tracks compared to some I've been on. Mini-golf definitely above average. Downside was the pricing - Would be lovely if they offered all-access wristbands. A family of 4 can easily drop over $100 in an hour to experience everything once. Staff is friendly. Parking can be a bit tight. Coming soon - batting cages, rock climbing and trampoline bungee. Our guide ruined our whole experience. She constantly yelled at us but worse than that she made very innappropriate comments. One example was telling my husband when his horse was lagging a little.... to hit it like like he would hit his stepdaughter! Thats BS! I called to talk to someone the next day and they said oh she was joking. I dont find that funny and neither did my daughters! She was mean on everything she said. I did'nt ask for anything and they pretty much blew me off. Staff was unbelievably rude to our whole family, continually yelling that we stop talking, one female employee sat a table smoking next to the line full of children. The overall rude and demeaning attitude displayed by many of the staff was completely unacceptable. We will not be returning. read more

We rode at the stables on 8/11/12 the first ride of the morning. 15 minutes into the trail ride the trail leader announced that we were on the lookout for a sweatshirt that someone lost the day before. Well 30 minutes into the ride we found the sweatshirt. The trail leaders horse got spooked by the sweatshirt and started bucking and pivoting. Two young girls around the age of 9 were the first two in line. Their horse was pushed around by the lead horse and the guide while on his spooked horse took 5 minutes to calm his horse down. Once calm the guide tried approaching the sweatshirt. This only led to more pivoting and started horses. My horse which was second to the end bolted past the last horse and ran down the trail back towards the stables. I was able to get my horse stopped but was quite shaken. At this point the guide got his horse calmed again, all while not even noticing what was going on with our horses or even taking the time to ask how everyone was doing. Finally, the guide decided to dismount his horse and pick up the sweatshirt. You could tell all people and horses were a little shaken after these events. We continued on our trail ride. We approached a hill. The guide stated that "the horses run up the hills because they want to get it over with". We trotted throughout the ride so this did not cross our minds as a threat. Again my horse had trouble. Instead of trotting like the rest of the horsed up the hill my horse took off in a full cantor and half way up things went bad. I am not sure what exactly happened but my sister in law who was behind me stated that either the horse lost his footing or just suddenly stopped but either way it resulted in me doing a front summersault over the horse landing on my forehead. I quickly jumped up due to shock and panic as to not knowing where my horse was or wanting to get stepped on. My sister in law yelled up to my other family member who was riding ahead of me that I fell off which alerted the guide. The guide reacted by yelling back to get back on my horse. Never asked if I was ok or what happened. I stated that if he wanted me back on the horse that I was going to need some help. He then came back and helped my step back up on the horse. We had ten minutes of the trail ride left and we couldn't get back soon enough. I then realized that my head of bleeding. I am missing a two inch chunk of my hair and forehead/head, scrapped by the fall. I also have a black and blue forearm due to the fall. Once back to the stables, I had to yell to the guide to come get me off the horse immediately at which time he did but never then asked how hurt I was, what happened etc. My cuts, bruised, scrapes will heal but another worry of mine is that when the guide was helping me back on my horse after the fall I told the guide that when I fell I lost my sunglasses he never took even a second to look for them or even allowed me to look for them. I now wonder if just like the sweatshirt spooking the horses at the beginning of our ride if my sunglasses will also spook the horses on a next ride. I am thankful that this did not happen to the little girls that were riding in the front of the line because although I am ok I am not sure how a child would have handled the fall. My advice is to not support Elmers business as they were not one bit concerned about safety or even taking the time to find out what may have happened with one of their horses. I understand that I signed a liability form but reputable businesses would have the common courtesy to make sure a patron was safe, especially after there has been a situation even if their only concern was not the person but their horse. Other questions I and my group had was that if the stable knew that there was a missing sweatshirt that would spook the horses, because the guide explained that the horses could be spooked even by a piece of loose paper, why didn't the stable help go on a ride before taking customers out on the trails??? read more

Best place EVER! I've spent summers in Eagle River my whole life and going to Elmer's over 25 years. This is the only place I ride and Go Kart at! They are awesome! After my 5 1/2 plus hr drive from Chicago I always make sure to go riding at Elmer's! From my childhood to my children's, we all LOVE IT! Thanks Elmer's! read more
