Elmora Healthcare and Ben were a LIFESAVER!!! I was about to depart on a cruise from Port Liberty in Bayonne with my friend, who uses an electric wheelchair. The day of the cruise, her wheelchair battery would not charge. I went to Guest Service to request an electric wheelchair or scooter. We also requested a bed rail for my friend to hold onto to get in and out of bed. Celebrity doesn't offer bed rails and has no electric chairs or scooters unless ordered in advance. I quickly Googled emergency delivery of medical equipment, and Elmora popped up. I called, and Ben answered. I told him my predicament and asked if he could deliver to the cruise ship terminal. Ben was right on it and on his way immediately with a wheelchair and a bed rail. The gangway was to be taken from the ship at 3:20 PM, and Ben arrived at 2:50 PM. At first, security would not give me clearance to leave the ship, but the wonderful woman at guest services made it happen!!!! Thank you, Emma, at Celebrity Silhouette Guest Services!! Without Ben and Elmora, my friend would be sleeping in her non-functioning wheelchair for seven nights. I owe Ben a debt of gratitude for his quick help and kindness. He contacted me during the cruise to see how we were doing. That meant everything to my friend and me! Thank you, Ben, from the bottom of my heart!!!! I rented a mobility scooter from Elmora Healthcare and had a great experience. they were easy to deal with and met me at the airport with 20 minutes notice. the scooter was in excellent condition. The drop off at the airport was equally easy. I just called and gave about 20 minutes notice. they even were flexible when my flight was delayed. I would definitely rent from Elmora again. Nothing but great things to say! I ordered a power chair for my visit to NYC through an intermediary website. After I paid I realized that the site was incredibly suspicious and I called customer service. It was very hard to get in touch with anyone and when I did they circumvented my questions. After a while, they connected me with the distributor (which their site says they will not do) and that was Elmora Healthcare. To be fair, the customer service person with whom I spoke - he and I had a language barrier and in the end, I saw that he was trying to help me so no fault there. Once I was transferred to Elmora Healthcare I spoke with Ben Hertz, the manager and third generation in the family to run the business who assured me that the site was credible and gave me numerous ways to verify that. He proceeded to tell me where I could get further info on the chair I wanted and offered info on a scooter as well. He was extremely knowledgeable about challenges that disabled individuals face and answered my questions before I asked them. Once I got to NYC I decided to call them to thank them for their assistance as the chair was perfect and exactly as described. It was after hours but Ben answered. He was clearly out at an event but still took the time to tell me the ins and outs of the chair and let me know that I could call him anytime if there was ever a problem. When it was time to leave he called me to ask if I had been satisfied. This very long review is my testament to exactly how satisfied I was! I plan on using them any time I return to NYC. Elmora Healthcare operates in a modern world but it is definitely a pharmacy that borrows from another time. This is not just a place to pick your prescription, but a place that tries to be a bit of an old fashioned "General Store". When you walk in, the left side has a cashier that oversees a section with medical equipment and random goods (such as flashlights). Across from that is a counter for UPS shipping which has an impressive stock of envelopes, boxes and other packing material. The gent who runs the UPS counter is very nice and helpful. The middle of the store has products ranging from stuffed animals to vitamins to cold remedies. Then towards the back is the Pharmacist counter. Most of the time I call in my medicine refills using their automated system and often the prescription is ready either the same day or the next. I always get a call back when my pills are ready and their hours let me pick them up at my convenience. The staff has always been nice to me (though sometimes they get a bit overwhelmed). I have been coming here for a few years now for my prescriptions and I look forward to doing so for years to come. read more

I have been a customer of this pharmacy for at least 5 years and am extremely happy with them. Here are the reasons why: 1. There customer service is excellent! When you call and speak with Customer Service they are polite and patient qualities that are rare in this world now. 2. The Pharmacist don't lie to you (like another pharmacy I won't mention in Linden) and are Knowledgeable and very helpful. 3. This pharmacy treats you like family! I had been denied a medication from my insurance company and could not figure out what to do. I decided to call them and to my surprise I learned that the Pharmacist solved the issue and the medication was on it's way to me by one of there wonderfully nice drivers. What what??!! Feeling like it's the FTR day for me!! Yup another banger right on my block! Elmora Ave that is... The only pharmacy on the block. And it's lovely, and it brings back that personal feel you are supposed to get when you discuss your medications with your pharmacist. Not feeling like just a phone number with medical needs as I often do when forced to go to CVS to fill a script. The pharmacists and staff are all exceptionally nice as well. Nicki at the counter always smiling. Smiling is important when speaking to sick people, it gives them reassurance that you want to see them feel better (psych 101). Elmora pharmacy of course accepts all major insurances as well as medicaid and medicare. They do not however offer the discounts like Walmart pharm and other chains offer. (Going to give Walmart a sick review for that later). There is NO parking lot and parking in this area can be such a pain. But it's a nice area so if you have to park a few blocks away it's ok. You can always stop in one of the other awesome places on Elmora too! I like Elmora pharmacy because they also have some other miscellaneous items that I can't really find anywhere else around here. The smoke eater candles (dog owners need them) and they also have salon hair products cheaper then you will get at CVS. Lock it down Elmora pharmacy and keep me coming! read more

This pharmacy is so much more than your average pharmacy! Aside from the personal service when filling your prescriptions, while you wait you can browse the many novelty items. The store has a very large variety of items to choose from and I always leave with a little extra something I could not resist. Its always a treat to go in and see what new things await me. read more

If the whole staff was on the same page, I would of had a better review. They were unprofessional with their customer service I called twice prior to my visit to make sure of pricing to rent a wheel chair . It was a last minute situation and I needed the wheelchair . What I was told was $50 deposit $35 rental, and I just needed it for the day . I come to pick up the wheelchair and all of the sudden the prices changed to $60 for rental and no one knew of the change . What type of customer service is that ?! Because I really needed the chair I coughed up the $60 and then when the chair comes out they didn't explain how to open /close or lock the wheel chair . Just unprofessional ! read more

Pharmacist named Ben was extremely helpful and went above and beyond trying to find me the medical container I was after. This place sells everything, I will definitely be back. My mother is handicapped and often needs specialty items which they carry here. This is not your typical crowded, busy Walgreens...this pharmacy actually has time for you and what you have to say/ask. read more

let me begin by saying im not an easy person to please but im delighted that this store has such a warm reception from a woman named Melissa I believe, she is extremely attentive to customers needs and also Kam or Cam from the UPS store what a bright friendly young man and to be honest this would have been 5 stars if it wasn't for , not sure it shes a pharmacist or an assistance I believe her name was Jes or Jess the girl behind the cashier asked her a question for me and she just starred into the air with a blank expression as though she was lost into space. If I could put any negative marks under them I would but this was the only way I was allowed to write my review. Firstly I've been dealing with this pharmacy for almost a year when I moved just on the next block over. Since the first time I stepped in there I was treated with insincerity and looked over just because I didn't speak their language or look the same as them. That's the closest pharmacy to me and it's hard to find a pharmacy that carries my pain medication is why I continued to go there. They are always shorting me on my medication running me back and forth telling me they are short and can't order online anymore. For two weeks almost every other day they have been giving me different amounts telling me to come back. Well on today I just had enough. They left a recording telling me the rest of my meds were available yesterday but today they said they couldn't find them. The owner Ben came butting in my and the young ladies conversation very rude telling me to go home and wait for the driver. I asked him one why can't I ever get my medication as I should? Why are their always problems with me receiving my pain meds as I should and why can't I wait. He told me to leave and started yelling irate! I ignored him and stayed anyway waiting to find out what's going on. He came with the rest of my pills finally and told me they won't be a pharmacy after today so I should find another. After that Ben called me accusing me of getting the same delivery he just lied to me and said he sent! I asked him what was he talking about and he started saying how he's glad he doesn't have to deal with people like me anymore. What did that mean?? I hung up when he started the insults and I just wanna know why. I didn't deserve to be treated like that at a pharmacy that I live in the neighborhood of. Will you treat my children and grands like that Ben? How would you feel if your mother or family was discriminated against or treated unjust just for asking about their medication? Why do you deal with a customer who has been patient with your pharmacy about my pain medications for a year nearly like that and I'm always shorted but your yelling. I witnessed pure racism. Didn't see anyone in the whole place who looked like me nor spoke the same language as me from the front of the store to the back(staff). I also witnessed the differences in treatment as well from the entire staff!! I recommend they watch the television and realize that the world consists of many shades and colors. The staff is helpful, friendly and knows the regulars by name. If they don't have a product, they order it on the spot and it is stocked within 24 hours. I recently went to this Pharmacy to have my prescriptions filled as it is right around the corner. I had left Dr office and by the time I got there my prescription was filled and waiting. Although the pharmacy dept was quite busy, I was in and out in less than 4 minutes. The staff at counter were very friendly and personable. Would definitely recommend this pharmacy to others. My son have a tramitic brain energy.his 15 i been living on elmora for 10 year years or more i send my son to all stores on elmora except the liquor store by hiself so he can learn experience confidents by his self.so today he went to elmora pharmacy to purchase me some eye drops my eyes was dry.I gave him a 20 dollar bill he comes home with 10 dollars and thred box of visine with no reciept .i send him back telling him it wasnt the right one and i spoke with the cashier at this time.he goes back to exchange the red box for the blue box of visine and pays another 1.50.now i put my clothes on and walk back with him to see why visine cost 10.00 dollars.so i spoke with the manager/owner ben he begins to argue with me like my son was wrong .come to find out the clerk never gave myson a reicpt and she over charged him .sad we cant trust our community with our kids with diabilities on elmora pharmacy. read more

NEVER take your prescriptions to this pharmacy. They are not patient friendly. Recently I had a prescription that my doctor wrote for me. I took it to the pharmacy. They refused to put it through my insurance, however did not mind putting it through as long as I paid $180.00 cash. I tried to use the discount card that the pharmacy gave out. The pharmacy would not honor it. The manager Ben stated his pharmacy does not cover narcotics. So i called the discount card customer service and they explained there are no exceptions. ALL MEDICATIONS ARE COVERED!!. The discount card company even tried to call the manager on my behalf and he was spoken to rudely and hung up on. The manager stated he only honors the card for the medications he chooses to cover. This is ILLEGAL. Either you cover all meds or don't cover them at all and don't give out discounts cards that you are not honoring. Also no where on the discount card is there any exceptions. ALL MEDS ARE TO BE COVERED. Also beware...a few times my medications came up a little short. However once your home you can not prove that they shorted you. Please beware of this pharmacy and please count your meds before you leave. read more
