Tommy DeSantis 1 review…read more a week ago New This place is a house of horrors. My sister was there and was not taken care of - very few nurses and aides were good, most of the staff was not. The doctors at this place cannot be real doctors. I asked a question to the doctor and she said "who knows?" My sister had a rash under her breast and they treated it with cream or powder. It was cancer! And the hospital said she had this a long time. Also, she had a seizure and was rushed to the hospital. At hospital, she was checked for seizure medicine and there was no trace in her. She was supposed to be on it all the time. Also, she was in so much pain and screaming in pain and they did not try to help her with the pain. She was on Tylenol?! She was eventually placed in Comfort End of Life and she was still screaming in pain. This is what they call Comfort?! Also one of the staff that came in her room told the family your sister asked for ice-cream and she said I left to see other patients when I came back she passed. I should have gotten her ice-cream. Why would you tell us this?! So many times my sister did not have her own clothes and so many times I saw mice/rat feces on the floor and on my sister's shoes. This place should be shut down and some staff should be locked up.

I came to the clinic for treatment for a disorder I have in my left leg called lymphedema. It is…read morevery difficult to find a PT that does CLD (the practice of reducing the affected limb volume via massage and special wrapping), and even that much more difficult to find a clinician that handles your unique case with such immense care and consideration. Feler was incredible at working with me, multiple sessions a week, to help me learn more about my lymphedema, and treat it as best as we could. I've learned that my case is one that may require further intervention, but during our time together, Feler and I were able to make some progress at softening my limb considerably. I can't overstate how much care Feler took with me and my case, as it wasn't an easy one we learned, but I feel so much more capable of managing my condition. Between the immense empathy and care that he and all of the staff have, and the great energy and humor in the space, I can highly recommend Rehab Haven for your rehab needs. I feel so blessed to have found this space and the incredible team that works here. I will gladly be going back for the occasional tune ups as well!

I work with Dr. Kinjal Patel however, Dr. Feler is amazing as well. I am 20 years old, I feel very comfortable here, as they treat patients of all ages. I have been seeing my specialist since December for foot therapy, focusing on my Achilles tendon. We have worked through various movements to target that area, and I've seen significant improvement. Previously, I couldn't stand or walk for more than 30 minutes, but now I can walk or stand for 1 to 3 hours. She has helped me reduce inflammation and strengthen my foot. She is kind and knowledgeable, and her expertise has been invaluable in my recovery. I am very grateful for her care and truly enjoy working with her. She is a great listener and observer. I am from Queens and it is worth the commute.

Debbie has been working with our son for about 4 months, since a little after he turned two, when…read morehe was saying only a handful of consonants and one vowel. He learns something new almost every session (he said a new word after just their first session, after not saying any new words for 6 months!), and now his speech is really taking off. Debbie is PROMPT-certified, and this type of therapy seems to be very efficient in treating our son's speech motor planning difficulties. During their sessions, she can now cue him to say complete words, component by component. I am blown away listening to it. She has built an amazing rapport with our son so that he somehow sits still, completely engaged, for half-hour long sessions, tries to make sounds on command, and has fun the whole time. She is so positive, and encourages him to try without ever making him feel pressured. She also quickly got to know him and what would hold his interest. We are constantly impressed with her skill, professionalism, patience, and resourcefulness, and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a speech therapist! I should also add that she has been very helpful providing me with all the necessary information to try and get speech therapy covered by insurance. And she is consistently on time or early to sessions. We feel so lucky to have found her, through the recommendation of the dentist that did our son's tongue tie surgery.

We highly recommend Debbie Shiwbalak for speech therapy. Debbie worked with our 2-year-old son (LP)…read moreon his speech delay, and she was amazing. LP's language comprehension was excellent, but he was saying very few words, but because he had no other delays, we didn't qualify for city-sponsored Early Intervention. We hired Debbie (reimbursed by our health insurance) and are glad we did. We loved the way Debbie immediately and directly engaged with LP, without any bureaucratic BS or adult-to-adult evaluations that might have made our kiddo uneasy. Instead, she went right to play time and language training, and LP, who can sometimes be reserved around new people, quickly and completely connected with her. Their playtime together was energetic, fun and most of all productive for his spoken language development. Debbie's manner of encouraging the flow of speech the course of natural interactions was very comforting. Her structured play time let LP have fun while it was also making it clear to him that he was there to learn. Her method of touching his face and mouth to encourage speech was gentle and natural, and LP clearly took to it. Meeting once or twice a week for about less than two months, Debbie taught us a lot about how to help LP talk more, and pretty soon he "graduated," as he's now repeating our words and excited to talk. All in all, we couldn't recommend Debbie more, so if your child is having any kind of speech issues, definitely contact Debbie.
