Pretty easy to navigate and plenty of seating and chargers. The bathrooms are pretty cool and are nice and bright and clean and you have an awesome view of the airfield by the sinks. Lots of food options and some cheaper stuff like McDonald's and chick fil a at the C concourse. Travel can sometimes suck and it sucks to be stuck at an airport, but if I had to spend a long amount of time at an airport, I wouldn't mind Denver.

DIA is seemingly in western Kansas, and maybe Denver will grow out to the east more - maybe…read more But once you're there, you see how massive this place is and one can imagine the logistical challenges of gigantic, global airports. That doesn't sound like an easy task, but for an industry based on schedules that are dialed down to the precise minute, you'd think things could be worked out. Eh...maybe. DIA has lots of nice boutique-y shopping spots, plenty of eats & drinks, and restrooms aplenty. But that's just the conveniences and who really travels just for the airport conveniences? Just get me to my gate and away I go. Add in that some of the 'sit-down' bars/spots have been placed as 'skinny' in the concourse walkways and you have to wonder if that's truly needed because those walkways can get jammed. If you're connecting, then there is a good chance you're taking a train to a different spot in the terminals. But even if you aren't, then your walk between gates can be lengthy. Nothing like the stress of racing from gate to gate in a geographic area where weather can change quickly to really get the blood flowing! Yes, I know, they cannot control weather, but in & out connecting flights are a science that logistics & actuaries have been studying for decades, so some of that is on DIA. It's huge, it's airy (great high ceilings), and somehow it's cramped. Airports of this size (in the top 10 globally) should be able to streamline people movement, but somehow that doesn't seem to happen. My westbound options are Phoenix or Salt Lake, so DIA will continue to get some of my business, just not at a 5-star level. Yet.

Everything was on time and the first flight crew was great. The next flight out, the crew was equally great, the boarding process was fast, and the flight arrived early. Hard to beat that. They also were offering a $1500 travel credit if someone gave up their seat, but on the heels on a fun but mildly exhausting trip, I couldn't rally for it. Just wasn't in the cards this time but I appreciate them not crapping out a low ball offer like I've seen from Southwest where they roll a few points onto your account. $1500 is a real, "we mean business" kind of offer which is a good sign. In an era of consolidated airlines and travel delays, this was a welcome breath of fresh air. I probably need more info to really gauge it, but glad to try them out recently.

I flew one of their small CRJ jets. And while I'm diehard Delta, United's CRJs are a million times nicer and more updated than Deltas. No janky seats that are broken and leaning backward even when not reclined. Nice, new upholstery. Very clean. And a better designed flight attendant galley. They even have an open and free snack shop in first class, with cookies, candy, etc. I didn't check a bag because it was only a 30 hour trip and I packed a backpack. Another nice thing is that unlike Delta's/West Jet's CRJs, you can actually fit your personal item under the seat. Flight attendants were kind and helpful. Pilots kept us informed.

One of the worst security moments ever. Wait in line, etc. You know it's Denver, fine. Officer…read morechecks my ID, waves me through, I drop off my bag to be x-rayed. After passing through the full-body scanner and cleared, a young woman (mid-twenties?) comes up to me after I had retrieved my carry-on from the belt. Accompanied by a female TSA officer who looked younger than she was, she asked me if I would record her pat down. I said sure (I was in no rush). The young woman is clearly nervous, but the officer didn't help by telling her rudely to set her bag on the table. After pulling on a pair of gloves, she asks if she (the young woman) has ever been patted down before. No, it's her first time. Of course, the officer has to say (rudely), "Well, this one's going to be pretty through. I'm going to have to pat down your whole body with my hands, including sensitive areas." She then proceeded to quickly run through the procedures and told the woman to turn around, spread her legs, and put her arms out, palms up. What followed, I could only describe as a groping. The woman was wearing an oversized tee and black Lululemon leggings. The officer, from the back, said she was going to lift her shirt up to the top of the waistband. Fine. Then she said she was going to "use her fingers and pinch around the waistband to search you." It was not a pinch. The officer used her fingers to GRAB the leggings and pull them away from the body, more like. After finishing that, she proceeded to run her full hand across the INSIDE of the waistband! And boy, she put her hands pretty far up the "upper thigh". Both the back and front waistband and thigh checks were equally invasive. And her hand that was up in the thigh stayed up there when she searched...actually, I think it did. She put her hand so high up I couldn't even see the blue of her gloves. And mind you, the poor young woman is wearing skin-tight black leggings. I understand they need to check, but sheesh! But the chest pat down was the worst. Can't believe it actually happened like this. Officer first placed her left hand on the woman's shoulder, then her other hand straight up and down between the breasts, and proceeds to go up and down multiple times before sweeping below the bra line (for both sides). She then hesitated before moving on and used THE FRONT OF HER HAND to feel below the bra. She tells the woman "I need to check this area thoroughly, I think I feel something. Do you have anything concealed underneath your bra?" WHAT????!!! She then uses her hands with "significant pressure to ensure detection", as she put it, under the bra for a good five minutes, before finally clearing the area and moving on to finish the pat down. She also told the woman rudely not to wear leggings as they are "so tight and we officers have to make sure you're not hiding anything underneath, and we gotta check." TERRIBLE! Do bad I can't see the officer's badge, but she looked college-aged with her blond hair in a bun and was wearing the long-sleeved uniform shirt and blue gloves, obviously.

Besides Clear is expensive you renew every year for $188. Not worth it. Precheck is good for 5 years
