If you are visiting Denver this is one of the best ways to see the city. From the moment we hopped on the bus the vibe was fun, friendly and full of surprises. Our guide Max was amazing. She kept us laughing, engaged and genuinely excited to learn about Denver's history and hidden gems. Rob our driver was just as awesome and shared some great local insights along the way. One of the biggest highlights was visiting Red Rocks. Pictures do not do it justice. It is absolutely breathtaking in person. He gave us a great tour of the downtown area stopping in major points like the State Capitol, the Art Museum, the US Mint, Larimer Square, Union Station and much more. The two hour tour passed very quickly, we stopped twice along the way for taking pictures outside the bus... Hit and Run was done by the driver Steve on Friday Sept 19th - I took my family out on the 1pm tour with Steve. He was friendly and had a good dry sense of humor. His driving skills are not good - he ran over at least 7 curbs and then the most memorable part was when he sideswiped a vehicle, we felt it big time since it happened on our side of the bus - he got out, got back in immediately and said, oh there's no damage just a scratch on their bumper that was probably arleady there... is everyone ok with us just leaving and continuing the tour, a few people said yes...so he drove away - this is called a hit and run.... I then called the company to ask to speak with the manager or owner to report this.... the manager acted surprised, asked me for all the details and said she'd get back to me... then I received a call from the owner that basically defended/deflected and denied any issues with this experience. we gave them $123 and put our life in there hands, this could have been worse but please save yourself time and peace of mind and give your business to another company with competent drivers and honest owners. read more

Blane was our guide and you can tell he truly loves Denver! The tour had a history and art focus, which blended together quite well given how Denver is set up. Blane's knowledge of the city was great and he was enthusiastic and funny to boot! Our group was incredibly large--about 50 people--but Blane was able to keep us all together and even when I ended up towards the back of the group I could still hear him clearly. This is key, especially when you don't have a megaphone! Blane's stories of the city blended together history, local lore, and fun urban legends all crafted into one entertaining and informative tour. For a free tour, there really is no better way to see the city. The tour takes a little over two hours, and covers about two miles. So wear comfortable shoes! This was my first experience of walking tour of a city. I am glad I picked Denver for this adventurous walking tour of the Denver downtown as I had no clue about this city. Our tour guide had a really good sense of humor and kept us entertained throughout our tour. We started off at the Capital building and ended our tour at the Union station. The whole tour takes around 2 hours with a 10 minute break at the famous Opera house which also the second largest Opera house in the US. Our tour was on Memorial Day so the streets of Denver was pretty empty. I am glad we chose to tour on Memorial Day. We also walked past one of the most expensive gyms in the country called the Denver Athletic Club. She described this club for "rich and elite" of Denver. Funny part was that my brother in law is a member of this club and he was with us on the tour as well. I pointed at him when she said that everyone burst out laughing. I have been to this gym and it's spectacular. But $300 /month is a little too much for me. Anyways, the tour ended at Union station where there's plenty of restaurants to choose from. Definitely have some cash in had as she accepts tips in the end. read more

I meant it's FREE! And it was a good time! We did a nice little loop around the walkable downtown city of Denver. The guide was good, they actually don't get paid and hopefully may a few bucks in tips. There were a few points that he made or questions that I asked that were a little "iffy" in terms of my satisfaction, but overall it's awesome that this is a free tour in great locations. We hit up several spots outside, so you want to be able to walk well and it's not really perfect for wheelchairs in all areas. I remember that we ended at the ball park and started at Civic Center Park. Great time and I'd do it again or with new friends visiting! I wasn't sure what to tip, probably most people don't. I think I gave him $10 - $15, but anything is better than nothing! give what you can! read more

3.5 stars! 4 stars for our guide! I stumbled upon this when I researching on Yelp things to do in Denver. It's absolutely free but gratuity to your guide is a must! This was my first experience on a walking tour in any city and I was very excited. We met at the capitol building front stairs and walked all the way to union station where the tour ends about 1.7 miles walking no hills all flat will take about 2-2.5 hours. We made several stops and we had time to snap photos while he talked about each location. Our guide was very knowledgeable on the history of Denver and all the locations we visited. The reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is the content of the tour wasn't as interesting as we had hoped. Depending on what you want to get out this tour, I would say try it. Some people actually dropped out half way through the tour. We left two stops before it ended. Overall the guide was knowledgeable on his history and he made jokes. But it just wasn't what we were expecting. This company is well organized though, we knew where we were going and for the most part started on time. I recently went on my first trip to Denver for a week long vacation. I start all my trips by gathering up brochures about things that interest me in the area. One of the first brochures I grabbed was for the Denver free walking tours. I was amazed to find that this tour was available for free everyday (weekends only in the off season) and all I had to do was show up in the meeting place at the right time. I immediately decided this was how I should spend the morning of the first full day of my trip. The hardest part of the tour was figuring out exactly where the starting place was, but this is mostly due to my unfamiliarity with the area. I originally went to the wrong part of the park, but soon discovered I was in the wrong area. I was happy to find the guide was wearing a bright colored shirt to help me find him. It was a bright and sunny day and he was also careful to help us avoid being in direct sunlight for too long. You may want to bring water and sunscreen. This tour really helped me get oriented to the downtown Denver area which would be my home for the next week. I loved being able to learn a little bit about all the downtown attractions, learn some history, take some photos and ask some questions. I had planned to come to the courthouse to get my picture on the mile high step and this was one of the first stops on the tour. We also went by the big blue bear, the mint, union station and ended at Coors field. It took slightly longer than 2 hours, but we were not in a rush. It was nice to have a bathroom/coffee stop in the middle. It is a little strange to me that the tour does not stop where it starts, but I guess this is to cover more ground in a short period of time. It easy to hop back on the 16th avenue free mall ride to get back to your starting place if need be. Our guide was great. He was very informative and answered all our questions about the beer scene in the area. He also gave some great recommendations for restaurants. We were more than happy to give him a tip to thank him for his time and information. Definitely do this if you are into tours and new to the Denver area. read more

Woke up in Denver wondering how we could best spend our short time in the city. My sister found this tour online and we decided to give it a shot. Alyce was our tour guide. She was easy to spot because she was in a bright yellow shirt right on the front steps of the capital building. She greeted everyone who walked up to join the tour. Alyce was really passionate about the city and knew a lot! She shared some really interesting facts that even a "local" who was in the group did not know. We got to see so much in such a short time. A little more than halfway through the tour we stopped for a potty/coffee break at a coffee shop. Happily tipped at the end of the tour because it was well worth it. Great time. Recommend doing this on your first day in the city, especially if you won't be there for long. It really pays off picking the guides brain on places to go, things to do, and how the city's transportation works. Because of the guide (Brian) I now know when visiting Denver, that renting a car is huge waste of money. The train will take you to and from the airport and you won't have to worry about the awful traffic. Brian was knowledgeable and funny. Gave a lot of interesting facts and commentary. Show up early, use the public bathroom in the Capital building if needed. There is a bathroom break in the tour if needed too. You start at the Capital building and end the tour at Union Station. But, its within walking distance, the guide can tell you how easy it is to bus back if needed. I never would've figured out the 16th street mall area had free busses that run up and down the street all day without the guides info on that. Highly recommend. You pay what you think you should, please don't be a douche and stiff the guy. read more

I am so happy I booked this tour for our very brief trip to Denver. Our tour guide Glenn was so knowledgeable and friendly. The tour we chose was The Ghosts of Capitol Hill and it was the perfect start to our little mini getaway. The tour is mostly flat and a very easy walk. From start to finish, the tour lasted about an hour or so. The time just flew by! Glenn had great historical information on Denver, as well as fantastic storytelling skills. We went from Civic Center Park to the art museum, the mint, theatre, and much much more! What an amazing way to spend a morning. This is such a nice little thing to do while you're in Denver. It was only 2 miles long and didn't feel tiring at all. You get to see all the nice places the city has to offer and learn so much about the history. I loved our tour guide! Adam was so informative and answered all of our questions.
