We did not get food but we did get some drinks and the server was respectful and professional, the front desk reps were respectful and professional also and helpful! As someone who HATES string pins, coming into this place seeing its free fall felt amazing and using my custom bowling balls, they read the lane really well and hit the pocket quite frequently allowing me to hear the explosive bang from the puns hitting each other! Also other attendees actually KNEW WHAT LANE CURTSEY WAS!!!!!! I can't count how many alleys I've been to where you step on the approach, set up, start your approach and then the next lane to you left or right just run up and throws.... During our games we did pay a high price 65 for 55 minutes i believe but honestly I wasn't tripping as we had zero lane issues, zero mechanical issues, and the ball return was so quick I was ready for my 2nd shot in literal seconds vs sitting there and waiting!!! But it appears tough times have hit this theater or perhaps whoever used to make the food has moved on. Idk if you can tell from the pics, but the food quality has gone down. When I placed my order -in person and not over the app, not over the site- I asked about the nachos specifically: "are they dry?Or is there plenty of cheese?" 'Cus last visit, they were stingy with the cheese and toppings-the complete opposite of what I first experienced when I found this place. The cashier sounded unsure so I asked if I could order extra cheese. He assured, asking if I meant shredded cheese or nacho cheese. I said nacho cheese. I noticed the price didn't go up, so I thought perhaps he entered it in the notes or something. Well when I got my order, I noticed the chips were layered like cookies in a tray. I took it, maybe his notes worked and they wanted to give each chip extra love and attention. Nah. Bruh, I ended up with even less of everything than I expected. Even less than last time. All the cheese and sour cream you see there in the pics, that's solely on the tips. Also had the vegan burger. As you can see, the bread is drastically different from before. It's incredibly thick (not in a good way) from from bottom to top, but very narrow as far as being proportional to the patty. It didn't work well at all and it all fell apart for me. These pics are from inside the theater so lighting is limited but I was very disappointed. I came to see Backrooms and overall, to treat myself. This wasn't the treat I remembered. I brought a couple of friends for something to do on a Saturday night, but we couldn't make it through the whole show. I'd guess half the audience didn't return after intermission. I know many reviews are meant to be "nice", which is generous, but this review is brutally honest. It was cringe, with only a few half hearted laughs. Please don't call it a show and sell tickets if you don't have a crew that can pull it off.

In the four years since I first saw this program, the only Cabaret at the Merc I missed is one night was when I was sick. This is a stellar program. There are so many things great about it. The talent is fantastic and the producers wonderfully match the music to the vocalists and band. The vocalists come from a variety of places and backgrounds that show the quality of their professionalism. The band is top notch. Leigh, the piano player, is an amazing pianist who adds a tremendous touch to the program. Will, one of the guitar players, will leave you craving for more. Not to play second place, the venue is part of what makes this program so fun. It is a very intimate setting, where there is frequent banter between the audience and the performers. The feel is light-hearted and you can tell the performers truly enjoy participating. The fun of sitting a few feet from extremely talented people and taking in beautiful music is an experience. Each theme presented stands on its own and range from Broadway to rock to soul. Am I over-the-top for this program.....yes!

Every year the citizens of Temecula have organized this event and this is the first time I've had the pleasure of visiting! The talent was amazing, especially the second half which featured jazz vocals and upbeat instrumentals. The staff from Temecula community theater were awesome and attentive. If you're needing a glass of of wine or a snack, there's a twenty minute intermission half way through the festival program. There's plenty of seating and there isn't a bad view in the house.

Rather than the historically accurate and moving drama of the past, the new director seems to have changed the act into one heavily permeated with frivolity and foolishness. There was a great deal of what he called native dancing that was nothing more than many kids simply kicking their feet in the air. And the girl they have playing Ramona this season does not sing well yet they had her struggling to carry a tune more than once. The show was lightly attended, and I doubt that it will do much better for the few performances remaining.
