I called to make an appointment for fluid exchanges as my car is nearing 90,000 miles. Before they scheduled the fluid exchanges I requested, they offered to do research to look into my specific make, model, and year to ensure that the items I was asking for would be due and pertinent. They called back within 10 minutes, gave me the research the found, and suggested a transmission exchange service and brake fluid exchange. I dropped my car the morning of my appointment and they were done before 2:00. This is the first car shop I've been to that doesn't smell of oil and tires. And the men behind the counter were dressed nicely in button down shirts with ties. They explained what the services would entail and what they should help with. And boy did my car sound and drive better than she has in a while! I recently went online to schedule an oil change and it was the easiest scheduling platform I've used. They originally scheduled 2 weeks for repairs but the Ford parts were defective and they had to rebuild the transmission again at no additional cost. Additionally, the starter and other parts required replacement and they performed the work for cost of parts only. They have a 100,000 mile/3 year warranty. Our Expedition runs well for the first time since we purchased it. We highly recommend General Transmission.

I picked it up a week or two later after it was finally repaired only to find the same issues. When I tried to have the the shop honour their warranty, I was told they were shortstaffed and could not even try to remedy it for at least a few weeks . After I took it back for the third time I discovered that the owner of the shop was using it to commute to his house and keeping it in his driveway overnight! I suspect he had been doing that for weeks during the second repair as well by the mileage indicated . I have recovered my truck with the help of the police and I am going to request a full refund for my transmission work and getting it repaired by another company.. This supposed 18 month warranty is worth absolutely nothing and this has been my experience. Short story: I have a 2015 Jeep EcoDiesel with 100K miles. I knew it was time for some major services. The manual wasn't clear, so I called the dealer. That was fun. I walked away with a laundry list of items that I later found out aren't even applicable to my vehicle. All I wanted was to know what was needed vs. would be nice. I called six shops in the Reno area for quotes and advice before I got to Chris. I was pretty irritated at this point. His quote was significantly lower than the others and I almost just hung up..... but his explanations were detailed and easy to understand. Still, I was skeptical... so much so that I called him and the other shops back several times--almost stage 5 clinger--before finally picking a shop. Now, I'm all for saving a buck, but not at the expense of being stranded on the side of the road. Before dropping $2K at the dealer, I wanted to understand why I'd replace parts that don't even apply to my vehicle--just sayin'. But this is where the 6th star comes in: I dropped it off at 4 PM on Wednesday and got a call at 10 AM Thursday saying it was ready.... AND because he knew I was skeptical, he went as far as emailing before-and-after photos of the work he performed! He also took photos of what wasn't needed and explained why. I mean... really??? Bottom line: I feel confident that everything needed to keep my ride rollin' is good to go--and I somehow managed to save money in the process. ROCK ON!
