Then my fiance and I moved to Carmel, so I went to their club. Both of which are great and I recommend highly. After going to the Kokomo club for several weeks here are my conclusions: The club itself is nice, but the staff is lacking. I workout in the morning everyday, and the trainer/manager apparently thinks that if you did not hire him for training sessions, you are a second class citizen. I have been there repeatedly over the past few months, and the staff has never once said hello, good morning, or anything of the sort. His clients have stations set up for them, and that means that half of the equipment in the gym is taken up. Then after the training sessions are done the stations are usually set up for his own personal use, so good luck if you want to fit in a quick workout before work. I have also observed the trainer be rude to other gym goers. The clearest example was when a piece of equipment was broken. There was no sign on said equipment to indicate it to other gym members. A gym member who wasn't training proceeded to try and use the equipment. The trainer and his client were training next to it, and instead of telling the client who was about to use the broken machine, "Sir, that piece of equipment is broken. We will try to get it fixed as soon as possible. Please in the meantime use other equipment though. My apologies." or something along those lines. The trainer then proceeded to yell at the man using the broken machine, "Machine's broken....Machine's broken." Not realizing that the gym member had ear buds in. He then looked at his client and laughed at the gym member using the broken machine for not listening. Overall I think that the equipment is good, the other patrons are nice, but the staff is what ruined this club for me. There is no reason to go to a place where you feel like you are not welcome unless you hire a trainer. If you live in the Kokomo area and are considering a gym, go somewhere else. At least until a change of management.

Not sure where to start here except to say I am exceptionally impressed. With everything...the…read morefacilities, the organization, and most importantly the staff. Throwbacks is owned by two local guys (Eli and Justin) and is a multi-purpose training facility covering things from baseball instruction, football instruction, and fitness. Eli is a former collegiate pitcher and Justin is a former collegiate quarterback and these guys are INTENSE. But...they are also very likeable and professional; they expect a lot from the people they train (and this is a good thing). Their staff is similar and you can see a lot of continuity between how they train and expect their staff to train others. The facility is two buildings; the front of the house is reserved for fitness, plyometrics, explosiveness training, quarterback training, etc. The back of the house is reserved mostly for baseball (soft toss, pitching, etc.) The building at the back is 3 batting cages (2 baseball, 1 softball) with pitching speeds up to 70mph. Plus there are several soft toss areas, tee areas, etc. for practice. The two people working the back area are parents of Eli and Justin so it is definitely a family affair and business. Really nice people. My impression is they have worked hard to establish relationships with the local Madison county schools. I know for a fact that all of the Pendleton travel baseball has signed up for winter practice there and I have observed other baseball teams practicing and conditioning there. Baseball cages are $25 a month unlimited. If there is a line for cages then you can go in 15 minute increments. If no one is in line, swing away. There are also a bunch of other offerings (individual instruction, adult fitness, etc.) at different costs. Check the website for all the relevant information...there is a lot offered here. It is refreshing (again) to see people take a passion of theirs and turn it into something useful for others and do it with a purpose. The business name (Throwbacks) is indicitive of how they train and teach...professional and challenging. They aren't just teaching sports; there are life lessons here on determination and commitment. My son absolutely loves coming here to hit (and he loves the workouts too which are not easy). Great facility and highly recommended.
