Went to the corn maze tonight. Lots of fun. Took 45-60 minutes to get through. Well worth the $8. We'll go again next year.

Fresh produce at a fair price. We go there often, and enjoy the variety of products available.

Despite having been back in the granite state for over 3 years now, I hadn't exactly gotten around…read moreto visiting an actual "farm-to-fork" local grocery store until now. Primarily due to the fact that I normally pick up fresh eggs from my bestie in Derry, I ended up searching for a contingency plan in the event she was already sold out on her end. Such was the case today. First, a caveat: if you're happening by this store southbound, the parking lot entrance will be the second turn on the right just past the store itself. It can be a little confusing due to the second logo sign on the side of the warehouse building which, to newcomers, may appear to be an entrance point. I have no idea if and what they keep back there (probably just extended storage), but from what I could ascertain, the main store is the smaller building in the center of it all. Naturally, the interior is (like I said) small and pretty unassuming, if I'm being entirely accurate. What you see is what you get and this is a good thing. Because everything looked pretty fresh and tasty to me. I possess neither the space nor memory to recall every last item they have here. But in addition to extra large fresh eggs, they also feature baked goods (to include my all time favorite - FUDGE!!) and real maple syrup. That's right! None of that synthetic, overly sugary crap for us true New Englanders. This, and other grocery stores like it, are the places we go when we want true, authentic maple syrup. So anyways, I was here for the eggs. Now, I may be writing this review prematurely since I haven't exactly tasted the eggs yet. But from what I can tell, this place is legit. They even have Apple and Google pay, which actually surprised me. The Yelp page didn't list this as a viable option at the time of writing this review. I will certainly be submitting an update recommendation to the powers that be. The staff were quite friendly and approachable. Didn't really stay long to chat or anything though. Those were just my first impressions. The location is tucked away, but easy to get to. It also appears they have quite the local following. So, I definitely will return. At some point, I'd really like to get my hands on that peanut butter fudge and genuine maple syrup. Can't really recommend this place any harder for picking up fresh produce and treats. Sunnycrest Farms is worthy of 5 extra large farm fresh eggs served any style out of 5.

But I decided that I can give my opinion of the management of Mr. Steer. They are the rudest, most unhelpul people that you can imagine. Not every employee but I am specifically talking about the owner/manager, his son behind the meat counter, occasionally the check-out clerk and even sometimes the deli counter person. I live within a mile of the store and have been here many times. I'll admit that they do have great meat and prepared foods. But it's not worth the abuse that you get from the above named employees, I went there a couple of Sundays ago and went into the store at 3:50, ten minutes before closing, to just pick up some steak tips for grilling. I immediately got some hated looks. They had already taken all of the meat out of the meat cases and the manager was replacing the butcher paper that lines the bottom of the case. I wanted to see what they had but all they could say was "What do you want?" I said that I wanted to see the tips they had, and all he said was "Well, what do you want"? I walked out never to return. I don't know how they stay in business when they treat their customers like that!

I never thought I'd be updating this review for a second time. But can someone tell me WHY....in…read morethe H E double hockey sticks does Whole Foods find it necessary to glue their eggs into their egg cartons?! No, seriously....why are they doing this?! Now, before I'm accused of being totally draconian here with my 1 star reduction, let me emphasize that this isn't a one time thing. Nearly every single time I get a carton of eggs from Whole Foods, it is almost guaranteed at least one or two eggs will be inexplicably glued to the carton. This is a problem for SO many reasons. Though, for the sake of brevity, I'm gonna list two of them. 1.) It's damn near impossible to extract the egg out of its pocket without inevitably destroying the shell, thereby obliterating any chances of enjoying a tasty breakfast. 2.) Even IF you somehow manage to liberate said egg from its inherent captivity without destroying it, you'll ostensibly have to deal with the remnants of egg carton pieces that remain glued to the outer shell. My pro life tip for the second reason is to hard boil the egg so that you may avoid any chances of carton bits mixing in with an otherwise raw egg yolk once you crack it. And, so far as I know, no - you can't just wash it off. Because it's glued. Again, WHY ARE THEY DOING THIS?! I'm not sure if it's only this location that has this problem or if ALL Whole Foods stores are shipping their eggs with a few of them totally immobilized inside their respective pockets. It's like they were totally petrified of the idea that MAYBE the eggs would somehow escape the carton and break. Well, NUTS to that, since I usually end up breaking them regardless when trying carefully to extract them out of their cemented position. So, yeah....that, combined with the fact Whole Foods' hot bar has also somehow gotten worse with time instead of better, I find myself regressing my rating back to where I originally had them. It's still a wicked good place to get a few select items here and there. But these two REALLY annoying anomalies compel me to give Whole Foods on Amherst 4 immovable eggs out of 5.

Anyway, I believe she assumes all Aldis are basically the same. Because I only happened to be in here after she told me about a $10 special for whole lobster meat. Well...I didn't find the lobster. I DID, however, find some very nice tiger prawns which pair up brilliantly with my scampi recipe. But, I digress. Here's what everyone wants to know. It's a store, though not quite as cheap as my bestie claims. I mean...it depends on what you're getting, I guess. It's not expensive, but not really any much cheaper than Market Basket. Also, the selection here is pretty limited, if you ask me. But since I come here for very specific ingredients, it doesn't really bother me much. I already shop at 4 different stores to get all the things I want as it is. They have contactless payment options. Always a plus for me. I only wish they would open more lanes. They have like...4 or 5 (I forget), yet they only open 1 or 2...even when the store is pretty busy. One more thing for those who don't already know: they use the bag-less system at checkout. Sooo...a bit like Sam's Club, only not as good. They have this separate immobilized cart at each checkout register they temporarily put your items in. I...just don't get it. I dunno. Maybe my bestie talked this place up a little too much. I was expecting more. They're fine, for the most part. But I couldn't recommend this place to anyone as their main grocery store. Aldi's gets 3 gigantic tiger prawns in scampi sauce out of 5.
