This review is for the ice cream only as we didn't look at the farmstand. We stopped in for a root beer float while out for a drive. I had soft serve vanilla and my daughter had the hard serve vanilla. I thought it was good overall but they really should give you the extra rootbeer as it was mostly foam and maybe a quarter of a cup of rootbeer. The Ice cream had a good flavor and we noticed they had many unique sundaes on the board. Probably would go back if in the area but probably not for a float. read more

This farm stand is open year round which stocks potted plants, flowers, perennials, trees, mums, bulbs, soil, mulch, seeds, supplies, and more. I was impressed with the selection of plants in their greenhouses and the prices are reasonable. During the appropriate seasons, the farmstand has fresh fruits, vegetables, sweet corn, pumpkins, apples and more. During the holidays, they sell a good selection of Balsam Fir trees and wreaths. I also like stopping here when their seasonal ice cream stand is open, which sells Blake's Ice Cream (hard or soft serve) treats including cones, dishes, sundaes, root beer floats, orange cow, frappes, parfaits, banana splits, razzles, cookiewiches, and cold drinks. Blake's Ice Cream to take home by the pint, half quart or half gallon are available too. I enjoy their Special Sundaes ($4.95 plus tax) including the Brownie, Smores, Strawberry Poundcake, and Maple Lovers. The Cookiewiches ($1.95 plus tax) are very good too, which are made to order with choice of ice cream sandwiched between 2 chocolate chip cookies. Devriendt Farm is one of the best parts about living in Goffstown. Every season necessitates a visit to this family run farm. In May, grab all your annuals, veggie and herb starts, and BEAUTIFUL hanging baskets. They also have a selection of potting soil and pots. THE VEGGIES GO FAST, so if you want them, get them asap. I do my shopping on Mothers Day weekend, and if I go back a couple of weeks later there is not much left for annuals. In June, go strawberry picking. Starting in July and for the rest of the summer, hit up their farm stand for fresh grown vegetables. They have the sweetest corn! In the fall, THIS is the place to get your mums and pumpkins. And don't miss the jack o'lanterns on Halloween night. This is also the best place in town for ice cream! This is your simple New Hampshire ice cream stand, with cones and sundaes of all kinds. Always busy. The ice cream stand is cash only, but in the farm stand when you're buying plants you can use a credit card with $10 minimum. read more

This is a perfect place to accompany an afternoon stroll down the rail trail. Great plants that are only surpassed by greater ice cream! Love that there is a place to get fresh fruits and vegetables all summer long without having to wait for a "farmer's market" day in town. I should have written this in the Summer when we were here every day enjoying our daily ice cream concoctions but I was in a sugar haze. When you are accustomed to paying for ice cream at Cambridge, MA prices, this place is a fantastic find. The ice cream is delicious and they have all your standard flavors (my fave is pistachio) plus some local NH themed ones. They also make great sundaes - so many, these have their own menu. If you are watching your fat, they have soft serve and will dip in chocolate if you wish which forms a delicate shell coating over the soft serve. After you enjoy your ice cream, buy their sweet sweet corn picked that morning or tomatoes, zucchini, etc. They also have perennials and annuals for your garden. Great tasting ice cream, both soft serve and hard serve. CASH ONLY. Huge selection of sundaes, which are enormous and some use their own local fruit in season. They have some unusual ice cream flavors, including lemon meringue pie which is lemon ice cream with graham cracker pieces. It is truly outstanding. When I lived in Brookline, I'd go over to Blakes in Milford and get a burger and some ice cream. Then they closed!!! I was devastated. All until I learned about Devriendt! I was so excited to have Blakes ice cream again, that I ordered the "Mullet" sundae. So. Good!!!! It's peanut butter fudge ice cream with whipped cream, hot fudge and Reese peanut butter cups. This is a terrific farmstand run by a terrific family. I've been buying from the Devrients since they moved to the big white farmhouse and their hard work has really paid off for them and their customers. I bought my mother the most beautiful hanging basket here. I asked for assistance from a staff member, explained that I was looking for something that could handle full sun and was drought resistant (my mother is notorious for forgetting to water plants). He helped me select a Ivy Geranium that was gorgeous. It was full and overflowing with flowers. The price was very reasonable for the quality of the plant ($27). We are now about 6 weeks out from Mother's Day and the plant still looks great! read more
