I had a pedicure back in November and was very unhappy with the results. I asked for my toenails to be cut short; they ended up pointed and crooked. Even the other nail technician knew what I was trying to say. My nail technician wasn't understanding me. I wanted them round as stated, but they weren't. They were very oddly shaped. (I was 9 months pregnant at the time and could barely see my feet, so I had to look in a mirror when I got home.) I was also at the salon for almost two hours (very slow service) and paid $65 for services in which I shouldn't have; way too much. My feet were red/burned from the extremely hot towel and hot stones. Then, the nail technician decided the need to paint my toenails four times! I've never in my life had more than two coats. The color was thick! I wanted a hot pink color but it was purple instead. Fast forward to three weeks later. I was honored a free pedicure for the service so I accepted. This time it was with someone different, way less time, and the color was better. However, within three days I encountered a huge rash and redness on my entire right foot and on my left big toe. I went to the ER and They asked me if I have been to any nail salons in the past week and I said yes, a new one. The doctor told me that my feet were infected from dirtiness. I contacted the salon again, and the owner stated that the technician (how convenient, her mother) recorded that I had bumps on my toes before they started. If that was the case, which it was not, she should have never worked on my feet. For the record, these are not bumps, they are boils and rashes everywhere. I would not have gone into a salon if I had this before I got my pedicure. It burns and is itchy and I wouldn't be able to tolerate a pedicure!! All in all I will never come back to this salon again. The Spa has a meticulous sanitation protocol in place which made you feel very comfortable. In addition the atmosphere was light airy with beautiful plants arranged to enhance relaxation. This is one of the nicest nail salons that I have been to around Lynn and Peabody. The atmosphere is very calming, it is very elegantly decorated, and the nail technicians are really nice! This is going to be my nail salon from now on! Cannot wait to go back. Also the pricing is great. First, my regular girl I have been going to for 5+ years will be closing her Salon at the end of November so I've been trying to find a good nail salon. My friend and I were excited to check out Elysian Nail Bar. We stopped in on a Tuesday and spoke to the Owner, Victor. I explained to him what I was looking for and told him I was looking for a great Nail Technician who was good at nail art. I explained to him the price I paid and he told me his price is $5.00 - $10.00 for nail design. I went for my appointment on a Friday morning. First, the salon is supposed to open at 9:30 a.m. yet they all piled in between 9:30 and 9:40 a.m. Although I booked a Spa Deluxe Pedicure with Nail Design, they kept telling me I had a gel pedicure scheduled which I didn't. I told them I would never use gel for my toenails as they are weak and that wouldn't be good for them. Yet, they kept bringing me over gel polish - this went on 3 times before it was finally cleared up. Next, I went over the designs that I have done prior at other Salons, yet the girl I used told me that this design could only be done with gel polish - very strange since I have had this done with regular polish multiple times, but regardless, I switched the nail design I wanted and went over the price of design and Nina told me it was $1.00 a nail and I asked if this is for simple designs or more intricate work and she said it is always $1.00 a nail. So, imagine my surprise when they tried to charge me $15.00 more, and on top of that, the pedicure I was supposed to receive included a paraffin treatment which I didn't receive. When I went to pay, I told the Receptionist, I already went over the pricing prior to my appointment with Victor and again spoke to Nina who told me $1.00 a nail so I wouldn't pay $15.00. After a few minutes of drying, she came back and told me they would honor the $10.00 price, yet what bothered me most was they were aware of what I was looking for prior to my appointment. Victoria, the receptionist promised to speak to Victor about this and the other owner, Linda about what occurred. What bothered me was 2 of my pinky nails weren't even done completely. When Victoria phoned me back at the end of the day, she told me something completely different than what I was told by both Victor and Nina and they charge $5.00 for 2 nails - very strange the price went up. Against the law to quote a price and try to charge another. When I left the Salon, my feel felt itchy and I am not surprised to read someone else had a weird experience - read below. In addition to my nail experience, this salon is big on Gel Pedicures and since it was busy, I heard them ask other customers if they wanted gel. Also, the pedicure area is set up with one long bench and it is very crowded when full, so not a lot of privacy. The friend I went in with initially liked the services she had done and gave them a good review but was sorry she did so as her nails were lifting after less than 2 weeks. I told Victoria I would be writing a review on my experience and was quite annoyed that my time was wasted. What I was told wasn't what happened. Don't go to this salon regardless of the reviews you are reading unless you want basic service. read more
