I have had my lashes done by both Natasha and Ciara. I have had the lash lift and tint service, as well as lash extensions. I have seen Natasha more (Ciara just joined the team recently), but my experience with Ciara was lovely and I appreciated that she shifted my appointment at the last minute-- thank you, Ciara! Natasha knows what the heck she is doing. Talk to her about the look you are going for, and she can help guide you. She is a lot of fun to talk to, and she's very helpful when you're deciding which service to go for. She'll help you find something that's a good fit for your lashes and your lifestyle. Keep in mind that extensions are not for everyone; they do shed, so it's a good idea to get them done as close to your event as possible. I often prefer to get the lash lift and tint because it looks great and is far easier to care for. I have been doing lash extensions in advance of my wedding, and I have really liked the look but I think for maintenance reasons I'll go back to the lift and tint. I booked an appointment here for what was supposed to be a bridal makeup consult. When I was booking, I asked the woman on the phone if they do airbrush makeup and had availability for my wedding which she said yes to both so I made a trial appointment. I had to wait a while for the trial because their only makeup artist was out of the country until late June. I had been a client of Tomani and never had any issues with prior ownership so I thought I was in good hands. Finally, 13 days before my wedding, I had my trial on a Sunday. I arrived on time and was told by the receptionist the makeup artist was still with another client but should be with me soon. Another 15 minutes goes by before she finishes with her client. No apology for running late or anything. I was slightly annoyed hoping this isn't how things are typically run because I have a set timeline for my wedding I needed to keep. The woman brought me out into a hallway which is where they do makeup. Had the salon been open, clients would have been inches away from me walking by while my makeup was being done. I showed the makeup artist what I wanted, clean skin with a thin cat eye and red lip. She immediately began telling me how this was a bad look and would be too much makeup and it was like a street walkers makeup. I was beyond taken back since it was modest but not to her I guess. She said she would do a toned down version instead but maybe we can add more to it of we felt it needed it. She then takes out foundation and starts applying it with her bare hands. I said why aren't you cleansing/prepping/priming my skin? And I booked you for airbrush makeup too. She said she didn't want to use any extra products that might make me break out and she doesn't do airbrush or eyelashes. I was incredibly annoyed that I had wasted weeks waiting for this trial and it was going so terribly but realized my wedding was less than 2 weeks away and everyone else was likely booked so might as well give it a shot. She continued using her fingers right from the foundation bottle onto my skin (unhygenic anyone?) She said she would try to get a close match to my skin color but they had just got a whole new line of makeup she was not very familiar with. She asked if I had a brand at home I liked and if so, to bring it with me the day of for her to use. After she did my skin (another strike in my book - always do eyes first) she moved onto my eyes and put a thick black pen line over my eyelids she smudged to make a cat eye. It looked terrible since my eyes are hooded and made them look small and dark. She put on eyeshadow which I had to keep giving direction because it was a mess. She moved on to brows and used a brown eyeshadow to try and draw them on which didn't work, it wasn't showing up. She asked if I had a brow pencil which I did, she used that to draw them on and told me to bring that to the day of too. She used a lipstick I brought since that was the one item I brought intending to use. The makeup was awful, it came off within an hour of leaving there. I called and spoke with the owner, Natasha the next day. I was hoping for some sort of refund given the absolutely terrible experience I had and for the situation this left me in. I had to spend hours calling around and begging someone to do my makeup with less than two weeks before my wedding. I had to spend more money on another trial. This entire experience was awful and at the very least a refund would have been nice. This whole experience sounds far fetched - asking someone to pay $120 for makeup when you use the clients own makeup but it happened here! Luckily my friend was with me or I wouldn't have believed it either!! I have been stuck paying the full $75. I would never recommend this place for anything and cannot believe the owner is okay with charging for services like that! read more

The hype is real for this place if you're looking for a great wax, as evidenced by the number of 5 star reviews Natasha has been able to rack up in such a short time. I have really sensitive skin, so waxes can often be quite painful for me, especially when folks use far more applications than necessary for the wax. Getting a wax with Natasha, however, was as painless as possible and was actually over with before I knew it. The space is incredibly cute with plenty of great small touches like mints and coffee for customers, and Natasha is friendly and professional and makes her clients feel comfortable and welcome. New Haven has a serious need for a good waxing place, and the bigger salons' loss in not snagging Natasha when she moved here is our gain! For me, it is an added bonus to support a female-owned local business, and I would highly recommend her. I plan to go back so many times that I wish Natasha would reinstate her groupon! read more

The studio smells super nice and is absolutely adorable; she has an awesome array of candles and I might just have to buy one next time I'm in the studio (spoilers: I'll totally be back). 8:37pm: After making sure I'm all registered as a new client, clothes are off and I'm on the waxing table. It's my first Brazilian wax and I'm having minor heart attacks in anticipation of the pain. 8:38pm: Prep products applied...they are super soothing and smell really nice! 8:40pm: First strips of wax are off and I survived! Natasha is suuuuper calming and exceptionally skilled at what she does. She's a great conversationalist and I'm effectively distracted from the pain. 8:52pm: All done waxing! I had a GREAT waxing experience at Lush yesterday! I'm hesitant to even write a review because I worry that if the secret gets out Natasha will be so booked I'll have a hard time getting an appointment! But her services were so wonderful I can't NOT write a review. I wanted to book back-to-back appointments (one for me and one for someone else) and wasn't able to use the online scheduler to do this, so I texted her. Natasha responded within the hour and made time for us a few days later, (on a Saturday!). Waxes can be terribly awkward and painful, but my experience at Lush was as painless as they go, and Natasha talked to me the whole time. She is warm and friendly, and had a lot of good skincare advice to offer. More than anything, I appreciated how down-to-earth and non-judgmental she was. I did eyelash extensions with Ciara, one of their new estheticians, and unfortunately, did not have a good experience. My lashes looked great right after, but did not even last two days. I did not use any make up and made sure not to get them wet for 24 hours but quite a few of the lashes on my left eye just came off leaving a visible gap on the second day. Lashes on my right eye held a bit better, which meant I had to use make up to hide the discrepancy. Now after two weeks, it looks like I have not done any extensions at all. Considering the price, it was definitely a poor value. I might try another salon in the future, but would not recommend lush studio. read more

Needed to get my brows done and couldn't find an open salon on Memorial Day holiday. Called Natasha and she was able to squeeze me in during the afternoon. So glad I found her! She was very attentive and took her time doing my brows. Even after 10 minutes, there were no signs of redness/irritation.
