Raquel is an artist and has an eye for beauty - in fact, her passion is painting so what could be better than having a gifted artist enhance what mother nature gave you! I never thought I'd ever do anything like this and she made me feel so comfortable and confident with her professionalism. She measures your brows and uses an app to help validate her measurements and she shows you what she plans to do. It was not uncomfortable at all - if you have every had your upper lip waxed, microblading is a cake walk - barely any discomfort. The results when I left were amazing. Everything she said would happen did (your brows go from too dark (don't be scared and trust her!) the first 2-3 days, then as you heal they begin to lighten up. Her aftercare instructions were helpful and she gave me products to help me care for my new brows. My friends were amazed at the difference and are making appointments. From the second I walked through the door at Elysian Color I felt comfortable and welcome. The office was sparkling clean and professional looking. Raquel is clearly a technical expert as well as an artist. She was very patient answering all my questions. I got the lash enhancement eyeliner done about 3 weeks ago and am already planning to come back for my eyebrows. Before the tattooing we drew on the eyeliner with regular makeup to agree on the finished look. During the procedure, Raquel asked continuously how I was doing and made sure I knew what was happening (since my eyes were closed). Afterwards, I got very detailed aftercare instructions verbally and written down. I haven't even gone back yet for my touch up appt, and it already looks SO GOOD. Permanent makeup can be scary because it is (1) going to last a long time (2) so close to your eyes, and (3) there's a lot of people out there who are trying to get your money but who aren't actually experts in permanent makeup! Excellent!! So happy I had microblading on my eyebrows. Had them done yesterday and there is no scabbing or scarring. I met a friend early this morning at the dog park and told her I had my brows done and she said that she was wondering how I had the time to do my eyebrows before going to the park so early in the AM :-) This is going to save me time every morning getting ready for work. No more dying my brows every 2 weeks praying that the dye makes my brows look fuller by picking up all the fine hairs. If you are wondering if it hurts and that's what's holding you back from doing it - no need - the sensation is that same as dry-shaving - not painful. Raquel is AMAZING! I was so nervous about the entire process, thinking 'am I really going to do something like this on my face??" Well, it was one of the best decisions I've made! You must go in knowing what to expect, it is a process. After my first appointment I thought my brows were too thick, too dark, did not match my face at all and I was so bummed.
