Went to the other location on Dean Rd. and paid 80 bucks to get a septum piercing that was so low I probably could've yanked it out of my nose if I pulled hard enough. Incredibly disappointed with a recent piercing experience I had here. In 2016, I had my daith piercing done here and everything was fine, so I assumed it would be safe to return for another piercing. I wanted a second hole in my tragus. When I went in, I did not recognize the piercer who was there. I told her what I wanted and she seemed a bit nervous about doing it. I was skeptical as to if she had ever done it before, but figured that she was just asking so many questions because she was trying to be thorough. I asked if the jewelry we had chosen would be long enough to allow for swelling and healing, and she assured me it was. After the piercing, which was abnormally painful for a tragus piercing, she said "Phew... That was fun. Never done that before." WHAT? This should be disclosed before putting a needle through my body. She also tried to tell me to clean the new piercing with Dial soap. Anyone who has experience with piercings knows that you should treat new piercings with a saline solution only. After about two days, I noticed that skin was trying to form over the piercing. I went back in and requested longer jewelry because there was not enough room for swelling. So I paid for another piece of jewelry. Skin continued to try and form, and it was obvious that the piercing was incredibly irritated. A few days later, the front of the jewelry came off. I went to another piercer because Sugar Skulls was closed that day, and she knew my piercing was done incorrectly the second she looked at my ear. It was pierced at an angle, which would have soon migrated and rejected. I had to take the piercing out and let it heal. I'm very upset that I paid over $100 total for a botched piercing. I will not be returning here and would not recommend this studio. read more

Came in last week to get my daith pierced! Kelly was the piercer. She was sweet and didn't seem annoyed at all by my many questions asked. As she was piercing, she walked me through the steps she was doing. So far, I've had no problems with my piercing and it's healing great! Def a positive experience at Sugar Skulls! read more

I've been twice now, both times had awful experiences with the piercers. Each time all I asked was that they change my jewelry, and it was incredibly painful. Their piercers are inexperienced and pretend to act otherwise. I left bleeding after the girl tried (and failed) to change my jewelry, and she insisted it was because the piercing was not yet healed. Note that the piercing didn't bleed when it was originally done and was a 1/10 on the pain scale. As someone with multiple piercings, I have a lot of knowledge with quality shops and this is definitely not one. DO NOT RECOMMEND. read more

Worst tattoo experience of my fucking life. A tattoo that should have taken 3 or 4 hours took 9 and she didn't even finish it because she was wasted. Literally she chugged a 5th of gin so I asked her boss nicely if she was ok to finish the tattoo (obviously worried about the outcome of my huge ass permanent thigh piece) her boss didn't like that so she went and told her so then she came back and purposely scratched, scarred, and completely fucked my tattoo up. thanks read more

I'm not really sure why this place only has medium to bad reviews. Their Facebook page has stellar reviews so I thought I would add my experience here to help increase their rating. I tried to go to another shop but after hearing their prices (and that their piercer would be out until tomorrow), I decided to go to Sugar Skulls to get my lobes pierced. The shop is very clean and Kelly who pierced my ears was very professional and kind. She told me everything she was doing throughout the process and asked questions to make sure I was doing alright. She made the process very easy and it was a good experience, and my ears are looking and feeling great. I will definitely go back if I need anything else done. read more
