We are walk-ins for x-ray. Security was kind. But I have my elderly mother with me, it was a long walk down the hallways to get here. There could be an easier way. We walked in radiology/x-ray area, only 2 people waiting. I understand its appts and also people needing x-rays from emergency and other departments but I explained just for a heads up to staff, my mom is in pain for sitting too long. They did mention 30mins to an hour wait. It's almost 2 hrs now. There are 3 people on schedule. The care could improve with courtesy for elderly patients in pain with an order from doctor who just got insurance approved. Reason why we are walk-ins. Quality of care could be better. read more

From the get go Emmanuel hospital staff was outstanding to us. My wife had A-fib. Dr Patel diagnosed her Quickly and took the appropriate precautions and gave her the right medication. This hospital is now Central Valley Doctors Health System. I brought my 86 Yr old mother here yesterday, Monday, December 28, 2026. Everything was good with registration, got triage immediately and called in the a room right off the lobby to speak with a doctor. The problem I have is with the ER doctor who was discrimating against my mother because if her age and had the audacity to ask if she was born in the United States as he had tried speaking Spanish and English to her but she didn't respond. I told him my mother was more of an American Citizen than anyone in this hospital as she if Native American, born in Minnesota. On top of his racism he had the nerve to pressure me into making a life choice for my mother or he was not going to put in the order for a CT Scan with contrast to see if her arteries were clogged. I told him I did not have to make that decision before having her tests done. He needed to do all the testing required and have the house doctor and Neurologist speak with me first before I can make a decision on any surgery. This is not a good hospital and I will be filing complaints with the proper authorities! My mother has been admitted per the Neurologist and waiting on a MRI w/contrast of her brain, Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2025. She has been without any nutrients or hydration for over 24 Hrs, no IV bag for hydration. Will update! read more

During the paramedic ride I asked If he could give me anything because I felt dizzy & hot from my lymph nodes in my lungs swelling?" He says, "YES you have "High Blood Pressure" well yes it's from PAIN. "So I have your permission to revive you if needed" What a sick person to say that. Pleasantly surprised at the quick service while recently accompanying someone to the Emergency room. It was early on a Sunday morning so only one other patient there. Everyone from the security to all the other medical staff were very helpful, and got through all steps/tests very quickly. I did step outside to wait when other patients started to arrive, some obviously sick/vomiting. Emergency rooms are never pleasant but they were very professional, and thorough. read more

Bad service, I took my husband there, we waiting for 2 hours and than they started doing the blood tests, after putted him one wheelchair in the room, have some medicine in the vein for pain. Poor man tired and sick for 4 days had to remain seated in this uncomfortable chair for at least 5 hours, I told the nurse that he needed to be lying in bed because he was tired, she told me we don't have room. Dad was brought in from Turlock Nursing Facility which is horrible.They found a small bowel blockage from a medication Dr. Alex Chan had given him there. Nurse Kerri gladly told me he had no chance, pull the plug right now. I requested a second opinion and it took 2 weeks for that. Nurse Annabelle was great, Dr Bailey not that great. Dr Slowik, pretty good. Dr Wong excellent, Dr Singh, no class or professionalism. He asked me what quality of life my Dad would have with somebody wiping his ass all the time. Danielle the phlebotomist, horrible. She stuck a needle in my Dad's swollen hand, could not find a vein, started twisting the needle left to right. I told her to skip it, she continued! Nurse Sarah and Gabby, tolerable. Respiratory Therapists Julie, excellent, Elaine and Caroline, horrible. Nurse Vida, good. Devon good. If they pulled a piece of tape off of my Dad's hand or removed a band from around his head and removed his skin, too bad. They spilled stuff on him, caused him to vomit and they would not change his gown. We did eventually pull the plug and those two nurses who helped us with that were excellent. Don't be fooled by the positive reviews, most of them are done by employees and their families to improve their rating.. My son had scheduled, pre-authorized sinus surgery in the same day surgery department. He was at the surgery center for 8 hours from check-in to check out. They billed my insurance $111,000.00. Someone from the billing office called me the week prior to the surgery and told me I had a high deductible with a remaining balance of $4400.00 that needed to be paid prior to my son's surgery. I told them I was not going to pay it until the day of the surgery. Unbeknownst to me, Sergio in the billing office ran my card for $6456.85. I called them immediately and he told me they would not refund me the difference and I would need to wait for my insurance to process the claim. 1 month later, my insurance processed the claim and my patient responsibility is $5333. I called the billing office to ask for a refund and they said it will be 30-45 days for them to process my refund and I had to fax them a copy of my EOB because they said they didn't have it. Do not pay them any money until you get your EOB, and it's ridiculous that they billed $111,000.00 for a 45 minute outpatient procedure. That amount didn't even include any of the surgeon's fees. read more

As I promised here is my update: I was contacted by a person who worked with the hospital administrator and after many phone tags we were finally able to speak in which I expressed my frustration. I did request a meeting with the administrator and I was told it would take place but it never did for numerous reason. It just never really fit his schedule. However, I did finally receive my bill and let's just say that they were sympathetic about everything that happened that night/morning. I was very pleased that heard my every word of my complaint. Thank you Emanuel Medical Center for making things right... at least in my case. I hope you improve your ER Dept. Tonight as I arrived to this trash can they call a hospital, my boyfriend was taken here by ambulance as he had a severe attack from his CVS, he was left in a room without a blanket, without an emesis bag or urinal. Not to mention the call light was out of reach. They have available clean beds (I worked here a few years bac, trust me I know ) yet he was in a reclining chair that does not even recline. His head was smashed between the hard arm rest and he was all squished up in a ball. He is a big man and there should have been no reason for him to be hanging off of a tiny recliner, that hardly reclines! I arrived about 2 hours after he arrived to the hospital.. & he still didn't receive pain or nausea medication. During the trip to the hospital he did receive anti-nausea meds, however with his condition the medication can be increased tremendously. We have been here for 6.5 hours now and one bag of fluids was given and he is still in the recliner that does not recline. we asked for a real bed three times now and get the same answer. yes soon as the one next door is cleaned. You would think these people had any value or morals, yet they doby and it shows. I can here the PA talking outside of our room saying who knows what their deal is in RM 2, because my bf declined a CT scan. He just needed some hydration IV with pain and nausea meds. He dealt with this for his entire life. It is his sickness and his right to refuse. As a PA maybe you should send your charge nurse in to educate if you feel it's that necessary and not sit outside of a patients room gossiping. This PA seems like an amazing lady, maybe she just needs some sleep but all in all this place has been a shit show. I hope your visit here is better than ours. read more

We were there today as my husband had fallen while walking up our driveway. We went to emergency at the hospital, registered and waited to be called. Very professional staff from the security guards to the nurses. Took X-rays of his left knee but decided to do a cat scan and sure enough he had a fracture at the base of his left knee. It did take a total of five hours at the emergency room but we figured it was time well spent. The reason I gave a five was because they treated us as well as the other people waiting to be seen with dignity and respect. This isn't the first time my husband or myself have been seen at the hospital and they have always treated us kindly, especially by the nurses. read more

We've now been sitting for over 6 hours in ER. They lost the urine sample for 4 hours despite telling them 3 times it was already provided. They didn't know they had already performed an ekg and were going to repeat it. They didn't even know all medical insurance info had been provided. The patient is 87 and has had no food, water or medication because we are hopping to get results soon. It was over 2 hours ago they told us a couple more hours. Worst hospital experience yet. Checked in at 8:00 PM, submitted blood work at 11:00 PM, and waited until 3:30 AM to get checked into a room. After completing a CT scan at 4:30 AM I was kicked out of my room to go back to the waiting room. Their method of calling patient's names is highly ineffective. If you go to the nearby vending machine you can not hear your name called and end up waiting an additional 45 minutes. Listened to the doctor and nurses having casual conversation that was not appropriate for patients to hear while waiting to be checked out. I would not go back to this hospital on my own free will. Would rather drive farther and go somewhere else. read more

Took my mom to the ER in the middle of the afternoon. So far so good until my 3yr old and I started to get hungry since we left our place in a hurry. I asked where the cafeteria was and was told that children weren't allowed in the cafeteria because it's flu season. So if you have young children and someone can watch them then great otherwise feel free to raid their vending machines. This is the only hospital I've been to that I've been told this. Awful... Orderlies are rude, unprofessional, and an embarrassment to the medical field. The nurses and doctors are unprofessional, show no compassion, and have awful bedside manner. Some of the nurses who work in labor and delivery especially Beverly appear to really not like their job they're often a bit rude and turn what should be the biggest happy event in your life into just feeling harassed. I came in with a piece chicken lodged in my throat, still able to breath, but unable to swallow my own saliva. They said I needed X-rays to see if there was chicken bones in my throat, one of the doctors said there was, another said there was not any bones. I came into the hospital at 8pm but was not released until 12:30am to another hospital that could actually take the food out of my throat. I was given medication to numb my throat and a different one to relax my throat muscles, none of which helped. Don't bother with this place unless you're about to die read more

Seen a year ago for an emergency and they've spent next year fighting to figure out why the was bill was over $2000 when my insurance has always covered my care. Finally they said it was for one medication and when my insurance denied it I paid them and applied to Medicare to cover it. But because the hospital turned the bill over to a collector, even though I'd been working with them to settle the bill, Medicare denied payment because they don't pay collectors. If I could give this ER 0 stars I would. Took my 8 month old son there for fever and was prescribed antibiotics. Noticed my sons fever worsening so I took him back only to find out they gave him the wrong prescription dosage he needed double of what he was getting and that's what led to him getting a 103 fever and a fever rash all over his body. Came home gave him the new dosage only to shortly receive a phone call saying they got the prescription dosage wrong again that it was too high for him and I needed to bring him back in if he was reacting badly to the dose I gave him . My son was released at 4 pm I got a call at 7pm. My 8 month old son took a double dose of medicine when he should not have. WORST DOCTORS EVER. Now my son is currently taking 3 different prescription medicines for a simple fever and has to be monitored for a huge dose he should not have took read more
