Last year, before I moved to MI, my acupuncturist in MA researched acupuncturists in Ann Arbor. She gave me the link to Rosanne's web site as she felt that Rosanne was my best choice. I contacted the office and made an appointment as I needed care for my body after unpacking 40 years of boxes and furniture at my new home. I was, and continue to be, treated with warmth, and professionalism. Rosanne has studied at several renown schools in Boston, China and MI. Roseanne Emanuele's credentials were so amazing, I chose to drive nearly 3 hours to Ann Arbor to try acupuncture for the first time, instead of going to one of the places much closer to where I live. I'm *so* thrilled I did! Roseanne is a healer. She just has that amazing warmth, peace, calm, and kindness, and such wonderful hands... she's a truly lovely person. Because it was the first time I was trying acupuncture, I was a little (?) nervous, but once I arrived and met Roseanne in her very clean, charming office setting, I felt relieved and comfortable at once. The environment here isn't one of those sterile--to-the-point-of-fear-inducing environments, like a surgeon's set up. Instead, there are interesting pieces of Asian art and other interesting items, and -I loved this as a special touch - remember those brightly-colored sheet sets we used to buy in the 1960s-'80s? She uses one of those on the bed (like a massage table) you lie on, which I loved. It just seemed comforting to climb onto a bright, colorful floral print. Then when I was looking down through the halo-pillow (again, think massage table) as she worked on my back, I could see a vintage, hand embroidered linen, which she said her grandmother had done many years ago. So instead of looking at the carpeting below, I was looking at tiny, bright flowers sewn by hand by a grandmother... a very sweet touch :) The acupuncture treatment itself was a really good process. In honesty, the first needle did give me an "ouch" moment, but in fairness, I was a bundle of nerves from a long drive of not knowing what to expect from acupuncture and 2 1/2 hours of driving to a town I don't know my way around. After that? EASY PEASY! :) I didn't know what to expect about how to feel during or after, but it was very peaceful and relaxing. I went to Whole Foods (just a block down the road) afterward and was shopping, and as I walked through the aisles pushing the cart, I kept thinking how relaxed I felt all over. I made another appointment and am going back in a week... another long drive for me (5 hours round trip) but well worth it! Rosanne is a gifted acupuncturist and healer with decades of practice, experience and a holistic approach to healing. I have been seeing Rosanne for a few years now an i am simply delighted by the results. I am a frequent global traveler and the travel leaves me completely drained and fatigued and a session with Rosanne fixes it. I literally can feel all the muscles relax and the stress melt away and yes, I do fall asleep even when she is sticking the needles into me :). She practices a gentle Japanese technique and continuously modifies the protocol based on your response and feedback. I have successfully avoided back surgery by seeing her on a routine basis. Her knowledge and practice of many of the alternate therapies - Ayurveda, Herbals, Brazilian faith healing, nutritional etc is superior and I get immense advice and counselling with each session. I first tried Acupuncture with Rosanne Emanuele many years ago for a wrist condition I was aggravating from using a Flexi-lead to walk my large breed dog. Repeated motion of my thumb was the cause, but after one acupuncture treatment the pain went away entirely. My primary care Dr. had recommended I see Rosanne at that time. Currently I am seeing her again, once a week for a chronic condition I have been newly diagnosed with. I drive one hour for my appointments. The acupuncture treatments have helped me so very much! I've been receiving acupuncture services from Emanuele Acupuncture for about 10 years, after years of trying acupuncture with little proof that acupuncture worked for me. In the last two years, her acupuncture has worked miracles on a problematic back problem I've had for years. I used chiropractors for years, but reached a point where they made it worse. Physical therapy has helped, but I always seemed to have relapses for no explainable reason. But Emanuele's acupuncture has had the best effect on lessening the physical pain, and the pain is gone immediately after the treatment. Physical therapy always took numerous days along with rest to get the same positive impact her acupuncture has after a one hour treatment. She is now a bi-weekly treatment I religiously schedule to maintain good health (which includes a number of other ailments I've taken to her). Her consultations demonstrate she's not just applying techniques learned in a class, but she has a deep understanding of how the body works and it's interconnectedness. This is a trait that's hard to find and speaks to her spiritual side which gives her the ability to explore the application of treatments beyond the standard.
