Checking in was smooth. We arrived early, so it was understandable that our room was not ready. Etienne, the guest service rep, was able to activate our wristbands so that we could start using amenties abd facilities. We had a sun room, which has a king size bed abd a pullout sofabed. It is a junior suite with two showers and a jacuzzi. It also has a full kitchen with large refrigerator and dishwasher. The resort, managed by Diamond, is a destination place, located next to a corridor of shopping and ding center. It has its own marina and beach access. Free one hour of kayak and 4 hrs of bicycle add more fun to our stay. The pools are just relaxing, different from most resorts, which tend to be noisy with many drinkers. They also have a mini theatre and business center. The room is well designed and maintained. During our stay, any encounter at the front desk, either with Olivia or Anthony, was a very nice experience. Providing free beach chairs, umbrellas, and kids toys in the parking garage is such a guest-centric idea. If I ever have to pull their legs, I would say the 2 inroom tv sizes are small. But who cares about tv when you are in Destin areas.

They charged me $100 extra guest fee for my toddler, wouldnt provide a promised roll away bed. Had to go buy an air mattress.

Let me start by saying the location is amazing, and that I have stay here here many times with no issues. However, this time was completely different. Upon check in my wife was told by Marayada at the front desk that it was a extra charge for my two toddlers of 100.00, however they would provide a rollaway bed for us, since the room only had a king bed. So no big deal. The problem came once we got to the room and called down for the roll away bed. I was told by a customer service representative that there were no rollaway beds available . I then told the gentlemen on the phone that the manager Marayanda had told us they had them, the same person who charged me a extra 100.00 for Two toddlers and promised a rollaway bed. He said let me figure it out, and we will call you back. After about 30 seconds I got a phone call from the manager Marayanda saying that they have no rollaway beds and that there is nothing they can do. When I tried to ask for a refund she rudely said it was not her problem. Terrible customer service! Just wanted to charge me extra money and did not care about Embarc guests having a nice experience. She even admitted on the phone that she had mistakenly told us they had a bed available. I tried talking to her about refunding our 100.00 fee because I now have to go buy a blow up mattress for my toddlers to sleep on... If you are traveling with children or have a special need, I would look elsewhere. The Embarc does not accommodate even when you pay for it. This will be the last time I stay here.

I've stayed here through the years with my family many times and always had great service! The staff are very helpful and friendly. There are many amenities. The pools are always clean and beautiful. The game room is so much fun. The kids and adults love it. There are games for all ages. The gym is small, but good. There is a community computer and printer for use as well. I love the movie theater. You can suggest which movies be shown. You can also rent tennis courts, fishing poles and chairs/ umbrellas for the beach. Baytown is not far from this hotel. It's in walking distance.

Very well appointed accommodations with super comfortable beds and couch. Very happy with our stay here for the week. Professional and courteous staff. Very clean. Kitchen has everything you need to cook meals. There are bikes and kayaks available (without additional cost) to use and a free shuttle to take you back and forth to the beach across the street.

Love this property we have been many times, love the proximity to the beach, restaurants and shops. They staff are always super friendly and helpful. The pools are lovely with hammocks and tables around them. Nice little gym consisting of ellipticals treadmills and a few dumbbells. Movie theater and also a huge library of blue ray disc that you can select from and bring to your room. Also a game room/arcade where all the games are free play- how cool is that.

I have included several photos of the property for your reference. I would like to start with the positive aspects of my stay. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We also found the continental breakfast to be very well-equipped with a wide variety of options for vegans and meat eaters alike. In our room, we had a nominal supply of coffee and tea albeit the creamer was spoiled, as well as a small selection of dishes, silverware, and utensils. Additionally, the 24-hour access to the exercise room was a great feature, and the ice machine on the main floor was available for guest. However, there were several areas where our experience fell short: - Housekeeping: We requested room cleaning twice and were told service is only provided every other day. When our room was finally cleaned, the staff informed us they were out of towels and had to wait for laundry to finish. - Plumbing: The showerhead had almost no water pressure, with water only dripping out at a very slow level. - Kitchen Amenities: While the room featured a cooktop, there were no pots or pans available to use with it. - Pool Area Maintenance: The pool area was quite dirty throughout our stay, with sand, dirt, Band-Aids, and Styrofoam on the floor. The water was very cloudy, and there were no pool towels available after the first day. - Facility Security: The grill area by the pool appeared to be open to the public, as the gate did not require a key card. This resulted in the area being crowded nearly every night. - Noise: The climate control unit in the room was exceptionally loud. While it did help drown out noise from the walls and windows, the volume was noteworthy. I hope this feedback is helpful for your future operations. Best regards, Buck Keely

From the moment we arrived until the second we left, he welcomed us, gave us recommendations, helped with our bags, etc. He is so personable and an amazing reflection of this hotel. If you can request him, definitely do it, he is a true gentleman. The lobby is beautiful, with many places to sit along with a bar for drinks. The hotel has a restaurant on-site that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They also have a rooftop pool that opens at 8 a.m. every day. The rooms are spacious and clean. The hotel is in a perfect location within Baytowne Wharf and a perfect walking distance to the restaurants and shops without being too close that you hear the noise. I can't say enough good things about this hotel and especially Gumby. Next time I visit 30A, this is where I will come back.

I had an emergency and was forced to obtain a room at approximately 3:00 AM. I was charged a full night for the room, despite only being there for a limited amount of time. While I understand that hotels have policies regarding room charges, I would have expected some consideration given the circumstances surrounding my stay. I was also charged for a golf cart key that broke while it was in the ignition during normal use. I do not believe I should be responsible for this charge, as the key broke while I was using the golf cart as intended. I am requesting that this charge be reviewed and removed from my bill. Additionally, I was very disappointed with the customer service I received from the front desk. The staff did not make me feel welcomed, and I found the interactions to be unfriendly and lacking the level of professionalism and hospitality I would expect from Hotel Effie. I chose Hotel Effie expecting a positive experience, but unfortunately, the combination of the unexpected charges and the way I was treated left me very dissatisfied. I am respectfully requesting that management review my bill, specifically the golf cart key charge and the circumstances surrounding the room charge, and consider an appropriate adjustment or refund. I would also appreciate my concerns regarding the front desk service being addressed. I hope someone from management will take the time to review this matter and respond to me directly. I would like the opportunity to resolve this in a fair and reasonable manner.

I say that because there is an overwhelming amount of places you can stay in the Destin area, and I feel like we got so lucky. The area of Miramar Beach (if you aren't familiar, like my family and I weren't before staying here) is East of Destin. To get here, we drove through Destin and I honestly was overwhelmed with how many people were in the area. But once we got to Tops'l I was pleased that we were away from the crowds. They have plenty of food and grocery store options near by so it doesn't feel desolate. The building we stayed in was the Summit, which is the furthest of the tall buildings away from the ocean. We could still see the ocean from our balcony and it was gorgeous! There is quite the walk to the beach entrance but they do have a shuttle service you can call if needed. I'm so glad we found this place because the beach itself was so clean, not crowded at all, very family friendly. You can bring your own umbrellas, but have to set them up in a designated area, which we didn't mind at all. We could see the public beach access from where we were and it was PACKED. So I really am glad we decided to do a condo with its own private beach access. The condo we stayed in was super clean and perfect for our family of 4! Checking in was also super simple and guest services are great! We will definitely be back some day!!
