Timeshare resort but we rented on hotels.com. Checkin was a breeze. Easy access parking. Spacious room with full kitchen and you can even rent utensils from the resort if you want to do some heavy cooking (even a turkey baster or a pizza stone)! Thought that was a nice touch. They have a gym, small arcade, small movie theater, bbq area, and much more. Certainly will keep this on my list for when we visit Destin. About 20 min from Harbor Walk. Bed was a little uncomfortable, that was my only complaint. read more

I do really wish they would do some more updating though, some of the furniture was the same furniture from when I first visited and it looks a little old. I love this place. Repeat vacationer! My first visit was in May and was lucky enough to get a huge condo(balcony, hot tub, washer/dryer, dishwasher)for only $150 a night. The on-site movie theatre was pretty cool but it lost to the two swimming pools, two hot tubs and hammocks out back. There is also a fire pit for that romantic touch at night. I chose to park in the front for convenience but there was more secured parking underground. A little over kill because just to get in The Resort grounds you have to pass a checkpoint of security guards. I highly recommend! read more

Checking in was smooth. We arrived early, so it was understandable that our room was not ready. Etienne, the guest service rep, was able to activate our wristbands so that we could start using amenties abd facilities. We had a sun room, which has a king size bed abd a pullout sofabed. It is a junior suite with two showers and a jacuzzi. It also has a full kitchen with large refrigerator and dishwasher. The resort, managed by Diamond, is a destination place, located next to a corridor of shopping and ding center. It has its own marina and beach access. Free one hour of kayak and 4 hrs of bicycle add more fun to our stay. The pools are just relaxing, different from most resorts, which tend to be noisy with many drinkers. They also have a mini theatre and business center. The room is well designed and maintained. During our stay, any encounter at the front desk, either with Olivia or Anthony, was a very nice experience. Providing free beach chairs, umbrellas, and kids toys in the parking garage is such a guest-centric idea. If I ever have to pull their legs, I would say the 2 inroom tv sizes are small. But who cares about tv when you are in Destin areas. read more

Let me start by saying the location is amazing, and that I have stay here here many times with no issues. However, this time was completely different. Upon check in my wife was told by Marayada at the front desk that it was a extra charge for my two toddlers of 100.00, however they would provide a rollaway bed for us, since the room only had a king bed. So no big deal. The problem came once we got to the room and called down for the roll away bed. I was told by a customer service representative that there were no rollaway beds available . I then told the gentlemen on the phone that the manager Marayanda had told us they had them, the same person who charged me a extra 100.00 for Two toddlers and promised a rollaway bed. He said let me figure it out, and we will call you back. After about 30 seconds I got a phone call from the manager Marayanda saying that they have no rollaway beds and that there is nothing they can do. When I tried to ask for a refund she rudely said it was not her problem. Terrible customer service! Just wanted to charge me extra money and did not care about Embarc guests having a nice experience. She even admitted on the phone that she had mistakenly told us they had a bed available. I tried talking to her about refunding our 100.00 fee because I now have to go buy a blow up mattress for my toddlers to sleep on... If you are traveling with children or have a special need, I would look elsewhere. The Embarc does not accommodate even when you pay for it. This will be the last time I stay here. read more

I've stayed here through the years with my family many times and always had great service! The staff are very helpful and friendly. There are many amenities. The pools are always clean and beautiful. The game room is so much fun. The kids and adults love it. There are games for all ages. The gym is small, but good. There is a community computer and printer for use as well. I love the movie theater. You can suggest which movies be shown. You can also rent tennis courts, fishing poles and chairs/ umbrellas for the beach. Baytown is not far from this hotel. NOTE: This is a review of Embarc Sandestin. I believe that there has been a change in ownership as well as a name change to the hotel. The listing on Yelp hasn't been updated to reflect this. Honestly, my boyfriend and I didn't have high expectations after finding this hotel on Expedia for a last minute 4th of July trip. The hotel was fairly priced - about $240 per night (we stayed two nights) and the pictures online were fine. However, this has been one of THE best properties I've ever stayed at. We arrived fairly late at night as we had just driven in from New Orleans, LA. Ms. Lynn greeted us upon our arrival and gave us a thorough run down of everything the hotel offers, which is extensive! A few of the amenities include: * Two hot tubs in the back, along with two pools (one is more shallow and kid-friendly) and four grills * Additional pools closer to the beach * A shuttle that takes patrons to the beach * A free hour of kayaking * Four hours of complimentary bicycle rentals * Three showings of movies in the hotel's movie theater * Fun programming And much, much more! Ms. Lynn was so friendly and answered any questions we had. The hotel itself is located fairly close to Miramar Beach and is in a nice, beach residential resort. Many families, children and older residents were at the property, which we actually preferred. Although my boyfriend and I are in our early 20s, this is exactly the vibe that we were looking for. We were in the "studio" room, but even then it was very spacious and had a balcony that overlooked the front of the building. There was even a cute little kitchenette that included a refrigerator, microwave and sink! Unfortunately, there wasn't a stove but as we were only staying there for two nights we didn't mind. The bathroom was fully stocked with extra towels and other necessities. Although the bathroom didn't have a tub, the shower was HUGE and could easily fit four people with room to spare. We drove to Destin on our first day as that was our initial destination (the property is only about 20 minutes away) but to be honest, we should have stayed closer to property. We visited Miramar Beach on the second day and it was SO much nicer, less crowded and had whiter sand and bluer water. We watched the sunset and it was beautiful. I would 100% recommend this property to anyone who's looking into taking a nice beach vacation. My boyfriend and I jokingly (but not jokingly) said that we would love to either buy a vacation home here in the future OR retire here! read more

Love this property we have been many times, love the proximity to the beach, restaurants and shops. They staff are always super friendly and helpful. The pools are lovely with hammocks and tables around them. Nice little gym consisting of ellipticals treadmills and a few dumbbells. Movie theater and also a huge library of blue ray disc that you can select from and bring to your room. Also a game room/arcade where all the games are free play- how cool is that. read more

This was my first time staying out here and I'll definitely come back. I love the friendly laid back atmosphere. The staff was incredibly helpful and always smiling, everyone just seemed to be having a great time. There are a number of great activities and you're not far from the Harborwalk, though the boardwalk marina area on property is beautiful. The tram service is great and such a nice convenience afforded guest. We didn't stay beach side, but because the resort provides everything you need for a beachy time, taking the tram wasn't a big deal. The room was spotless and in immaculate condition, we were in the 1bdr 2bath at Embarc and it was more room than we needed really, great layout and amenities. Shout out to Suzi at the front desk for being such a great help at checkin and holding our bags so we could hit the ground running! We had an amazing time and we will back for sure! read more

First time at this resort and love it. Rooms are superb and very well equipped with everything you need. Pools, beach, bbq area are well maintained and offer you comfortable luxury during your stay. The price was absolutely outstanding for what was presented to us. The staff was more than accommodating and very kind. We walked in our room to soft soothing music playing over the speakers in the living room, there was a large tub in the master bedroom next to a picture perfect luxury bed, walk-in shower with a rain-like shower head, full-size kitchen with everything you could need, and a small hidden washer/dryer. A large lateral-opening window in the master bedroom outlooking a balcony with two comfy lounge chairs was perfect for morning coffee/tea. Baytown Wharf was also a short 5min stroll. This place is nice until you have a problem. Our air conditioner wasn't working on the second day. We called the front desk and they sent us someone to fix it. The guy that came to fix the AC was nice and did his best. He had to call his manager many times so, it took a long time. It was around dinner time and We were trying to go to the beach to see the sunset. We waited around a long time so, We missed the sunset. He came back and told us that he can't fix it and we lost total control of our AC but, he can bring the fan. He basically told us that he can connect our AC to the room next door so, whatever setting people next door have, We will have it. So, it could be very cold or very hot. We went to see the person at the front desk to see if We could simply move to another room. He told us that they are full and had us wait another 15 min then, he said he will talk to a manager and give us call later. because they want to make sure that we are happy with our room. At the point We were starving and missed the sunset and annoyed about all the time We wasted. We waited to see if anyone would call us. But, no one contacted us. The guy that worked on AC came by to bring the fan. That was it. Nobody said anything at check out. Nothing. I understand that they are all full and couldn't give us another room. But, to ignore whole situation and just don't do anything was wrong. They didn't care that if We had to be in the room that is uncomfortable to stay in then, told us that they will call and just ignored it. I would rather have someone told us that they can't do anything about it instead of lied to us. On top of everything, there was a dirty menstrual pads left in the trash can in the bathroom from previous guest and We had to clean it because they ask you to throw all the trash before you leave. The vacation homes are spacious and have everything you need, kitchen, washer/dryer, DVD player, etc. the movie theater downstairs is a fun treat to pick a movie ad watch in. The free arcade games is a bonus for the kids and they have a great workout room. Close enough to walk to Baytowne Wharf. Highly recommend. read more
