I had a laptop stolen by another girl in the program, amongst other expensive items, and Becca did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to help me get those items back and ignored me when I simply asked for her assistance in getting my things back. Only cares about money and way overcharges you. Treats you like a dollar sign and not a person. Kept trying to fraudulently charge my family even after we paid. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! read more

I stayed at ember Lodge for 3 months. During those 3 months I tried my best to succeed. The staff at ember Lodge are highly unqualified for the positions that they are in, especially the staff that is stationed there to watch over the girls throughout the day and night. They are just $10 employees who are looking for a job not necessarily there to help or give us good advice. Also, they popped me for cocaine on a drug test that I didn't touch and they refused to believe me and I think that they was working against me. I hate to say it but I've not touched a single drug in 5 years and they told me that I did. I think I would know. When I left Rebecca told me that I would amount to nothing and that I would relapse and end up back in the system once again. Well to her surprise I succeeded. I am 5 years clean and I have a full-time job live at my own place and pay all my bills. So in spite of Rebecca I succeeded. If you care about your loved one, send them somewhere better. read more

I 100% recommend attending Ember Lodge! The staff is super attentive. Bekah is very mindful of how the house is run. And it shows in the successful results I have seen in not only myself, but other alumni I have met along the way. When I first joined Ember I had a very difficult time living a stable and meaningful life as a result of my alcoholism/mental illness. Ember Lodge introduced me to a world of recovery, responsibility, accountability, and friendships with other women who are seeking the same thing. I actually met my best friend here! Even 5 years after graduating from Ember, she and I fly across the country to spend time together. I now have a very full and beautiful life of service, love, health, and sobriety. And I give a big reason for that to Ember Lodge, Bekah, and the staff as being a foundation to my life long recovery. read more

Ember Lodge as a whole is a miserable and horribly inconsistent experience. My treatment there was irreparably marred by staff incompetence on multiple levels, with no fewer than four staff members who had been there for several years leaving the program. My personal experience involved me keeping my head down and doing personal work, and I owe my recovery exclusively to myself. The staff members were openly inconsistent on rules, which in my observation encouraged clients to exploit loopholes with staff wherever possible. In my time at Ember Lodge, I would estimate around half of my IOP time was devoted to discussing issues within the program and the house, none of which particularly pertained to our recovery or emotional well-being and became incredibly tiring to continue discussing. The staff members at Ember Lodge vary on their helpfulness, and I think it is extremely notable that several of the reviews on Yelp are written by people currently employed at Ember Lodge, which I confirmed with the staff were written during their employment. Consistently, at every opportunity, staff would encourage clients to use their communication skills to resolve problems, and altogether refuse to step in, even when these skills proved to be antagonistic or inflammatory to conflict. In any situation no less than revolutionary or directly jeopardizing her own agenda for a client, Bekah made no appearances. I would like to corroborate the general theme that Bekah is at best entirely absent, and at worst gaslights and exploits the wallets of clients. If you or a loved one are struggling, I implore you to do your due diligence in researching care facilities as opposed to sending your loved ones to the house with the nicest advertisement video online. TLDR: Abysmal experience plagued by incompetent and frankly at times dismissive staff members. The house itself is a nice house, but it doesn't matter how nice the house is when the people you are dealing with are close to hell on earth. read more

Do your due diligence before entrusting your loved one to Rebecca Puccia's care. Our loved one's experience: A forced change in medication dictated by Ms. Puccia who has no background or qualifications in mental health or medicine which was NOT recommended by our loved one's doctor, retribution for anything expressed about Ms. Puccia in private counseling (in house therapy is NOT private), and heavy turnover in staff due to Ms. Puccia's mercurial behavior. In addition, we were charged a hefty "full price", then unbeknownst to us Ms. Puccia also billed our insurance company, known as "double dipping"- unscrupulous at best. read more

Im giving them a two star review because of the friends I made and the fun I did get to experience after getting sober. As for the program itself, they do not meet individual needs and the owner will tell you what you should do, if you disagree with her at all even though she is not a therapist. She tried to tell me that i needed to go to a grief counseling center for three weeks even though my therapist did not think so. After spending three and a half months at a treatment center, I had learned who I was, what I needed and to listen to my therapist. she was telling me how to go about things that were different than my therapist that I had while there and at my treatment center. She is very confrontational and expects you to go about sobriety the way she thinks it should be done. I love the treatment center I went to, but I do not recommend Ember Lodge as a sober living. The owner is very judgemental and one sided. They almost drove me to relapse and back into depression because I felt as if I was a failure. What saved me was staying in what I learned from my treatment center, and I am still doing very well to this day. read more

All girls are given individual treatment programs that fit their ailments, goals, hopes, and desires. For the amount the housing location, the personal coaching, advocacy, and recovery resources she provides Ember Lodge is nothing short of a steal. I attended Ember Lodge from the end of 2021 to the beginning of 2022; completed a 6 week in-patient substance abuse treatment facility before attending. Words can not describe how I feel about the impact E.L. has had on my life. I entered Ember as a client feeling broken and hopeless. I had no dreams, goals, or ambitions. At first, I was very resistant on attending because I was under the impression I could conquer sobriety on my own terms. With some healthy encouragement from loved ones, I decided to take the next step and enroll. I remember my first day like it was yesterday; I remember questioning everything wrong I'd done in my life that lead me to the very moment. I felt so ashamed, however it did not take me long to find out I was right where I was supposed to be. I was greeted with open arms, and felt like the staff truly saw me as a human being. Although I was terrified of everything around me, I tried my best to approach this program with an open mind, seeing Ember Lodge as a stepping stone to a meaningful/ joyful life. My change did not happen overnight, I faced hardships emerging into the world as a young woman. I learned to love myself, others and the ability to have empathy. The programming and groups helped shaped me into who I am today. The staff support was very helpful, especially the owner, Rebekah Puccia. I needed a program like this to help me get a firm and solid recovery foundation. I was able to develop a new moral code, and have opportunities to practice this new life within the house and community. The structure of the program is so unique, it allowed me to stay accountable to my recovery, and get to experience what life was like in the day to day world. I went on to attend a halfway house after my stay at Ember Lodge. I am beyond grateful for the opportunity and privilege to attend Ember Lodge. Side note: Before writing this Yelp review I decided to look at others experience at Ember Lodge. I felt disheartened when reading the words to describe owner and founder, Rebekah (Bekah). I felt this way because I have an immense amount of respect for this woman. I have come to know her as a patient and loving human. I truly feel like she cared about me and ALWAYS had my best interest in mind. I sensed that others do not feel this way about her due to the role she has at the program. In the Ember Lodge guidebook that clients are to complete during their stay here, I noticed there's a section titled, "Bekah's story." She shared her experience with substance abuse and recovery. I thought to myself in the beginning of my journey, "Well if she can get clean and have a productive life, I can too." I received professional guidance with my mental health and substance use issues. I was able to gain life skills and coping skills which continue to help me today. We had a loved one stay at Ember for almost a year after coming out of inpatient treatment. From the start I found the staff to be accessible and approachable. I had the owner's cell phone and was able to get in touch with her whenever I needed to. She was always accessible, responsive, and interested in my feedback. They always provided appropriate updates about our loved one without violating the trust of the individual they were treating. They made sure the family was properly engaged but set appropriate boundaries as well. I also happen to be a professional in the behavioral health field and an individual in long term recovery. I have worked with many sober living facilities over the years in both my personal and business life. Running quality sober living is incredibly challenging. There is a high degree of variability in the quality of the programs out there and I only trust a few of them with my referrals. Ember is definitely on that list. I don't want to give out too much in the way of detail about the loved one that went through Ember's program in order to protect their privacy. However, I will say that they are experiencing sustained, quality sobriety, helping others do the same, and achieving things in life that seemed impossible two years ago. I credit Ember for helping me learn to live life the way I am now. The staff have designed a program that helps young women gradually learn everything necessary, both internally and externally, to transition into living a fulfilling, independent life. In this program I was able to learn to rely on myself again. I was able to become strong and confident again after struggling with substance-abuse and mental illness, and figuring out how to re-integrate the positive skills I learned back into my life. I was given the support and guidance to grow, as well as given the opportunity to fail, and how to deal with that in a healthy way. Ember Lodge in Asheville NC accepted my daughter without properly vetting her situation as they are clearly not qualified. She ended up dangerously running around Asheville with little supervision. She was there for 5 days and they charged us for a month and offered no refund then billed us another 3k which Rebekha first said was for IOP (that my daughter did not attend) and then said it was for her deductible which was already met. A night shift admitted to my mother that a resident was stealing from my daughter. Both of her laptops disappeared at Ember Lodge and they deny it. That was glossed over and the videos disappeared. I have been asking for the medical records since June to come to me or the caseworker (ROI in place) and they will not provide them which is illegal. I have the email trail of the requests and Rebekhas responses. She will lay on the fake nice nice sales pitch but is only interested in the bottom line - private pay residents get preference. We still have not received the discharge records which is detrimental to our daughters health as we need that history. We have been asking for 6 months in writing. I plan to call for an internal audit of this place. They are a discriminating, high paid babysitting service without the qualifications to provide the mental health/substance abuse support service they advertise. read more

She is cruel. I'm not sure why she opened up this house. Possibly attention from the community? She has a high turn over rate from staff. Also when I was there for three months, everyone in the house hated her. Stay far away from this woman. There are other places in Asheville. Look there. I spend 4 months at Ember Lodge in 2022. It was my first time getting sober, and I had just gotten back from a 3 month stay at a Trauma Recovery Center. I was 22 at the time, and scared, as you can guess. But from the moment I arrived at Ember, I was more excited than scared. It sounds silly, but I wish I could go back. I am now 2 years sober, living on my own, I have a steady job and I am a full time student. Not only does Ember Lodge effectively integrate their clients back into every day society, but it provides us with a chance to have FUN in our sobriety. I learned how to set boundaries, rely on myself, ask fo help, I developed incredible friendships, and fell in love with my life for the first time in over 8 years. The staff... I don't even have words, I LOVE THEMM!!! I still continue to visit and engage in life coaching, over a year later, and am forever grateful for all of the support and love I received during my stay. I don't want to know what my life would look like if I never lived at Ember. Getting out of inpatient treatment, the world felt overwhelming. But because of this program, I was able to ease myself into living a normal life again. I only had positive experiences with the staff there and it was evident that they really cared. I was able to start school again, go to IOP, and create meaningful connections in recovery due to the support and accountability I received. In my experience, the only way that you won't benefit from this place is if you're unwilling to grow and take suggestions. My life is beautiful now. I'm a full time student, have two years sober, and work at a treatment center. I never imagined that to be possible. Through meeting the mentors there I saw how great life can be. At Ember you're living in the coolest part of town in a beautiful home with women who truly understand you. There's a lot to love. read more

I went through ember lodge and had the best experience of my life. Without it, I would not be where I am today. The staff helped me excel in life and find my true passions. The owner worked personally with me and put so much time and effort into my struggles and accomplishments, and she still continues to reach out to me and check on me. Ember lodge is a place where recovering addicts or people in recovery for mental health can learn to live. Healthy habits were taught to me and sometimes I didn't like following the rules; however, those rules have taught me how to be responsible in my every day life. After leaving treatment, it provided a stable and supportive environment for me to continue working on my recovery and reaching my next goals in life.
