We have been customers of hers for decades and continue to be so despite our having moved out of the US. There are no finer and more trustworthy persons in the jewelry business than Sondra and her son Anthony. In fact I am writing this review while awaiting a call from Sondra in order to have her tell me that she has THE bracelet I've been looking for to give to my wife. There is no question in my mind that she will select precisely what my wife would had she selected it herself. You couldn't do better anywhere.

I cannot believe I have not reviewed Sondra's yet…read more 11 years ago today I met my wife. 8 years ago today I proposed to her. So now I will right the wrong of failing to review. I went to Sondra's 9 years ago because I always heard them advertising on ESPN Radio. Anthony spent hours with me teaching me all about Diamonds and Rings. He ordered many diamonds and helped me pick just the right one. He explained the reasons behind each metal and why I would want to choose a platinum setting for our Tiffany style engagement ring. This was crucial as the ring went 8 years before it experienced any damage. I was in my early 20s and Sondra's let me make weekly payments for many many months without interest or fees until the ring was paid off and I was ready to propose. We moved out of state and were still planning our wedding. We corresponded by email with Anthony about the wedding bands knowing we would only see them 2 days before the wedding and they had to be perfect as there would be no time to change them out. They were perfect. This weekend we went back to Sondra's to have the aforementioned damage repaired and I haven't seen Anthony in probably 5 years and he remembered me and remembered where I worked 5 years ago. Amazing. The repairs were fantastic and super affordable. I am forever in debt to Anthony and Sondra's for teaching me about jewelery and changing my life. Thank you!

Always find myself remiscing because the house my eldest daughter lives in --- it belonged to my Grandparents. Such an enjoyable visit with Janet --- I agree that her items are easier to find and even though the space is saller than across the street. Very knowledgeable about the items she is selling and helpful to both daughters as they both picked up a different version of the stone. Even though my cdaughter s are both in thir mid are in their 40s --- I had to laugh because of the look of wonder in their eyes and unbeknownst to either one - each chose an opal. That was my Aunt Mary Ann's favorite gem. Janet is so hospitable, friendly, informative and accomodating. On the way home from Hoosick Falls, my youngest began to hint about the next time - HA!

We continued to talk about Janet for the rest of our girls weekend, that I could spend a weekend with her and hear her stories & just be in her presence! I was very happy to see all the diverse items that she promotes and inspires in the middle of what might be a less than liberal area, She sells and donates the proceeds of Haitian art back to the Haitian communities. She had SO MUCH jewelry in her shop and if you would mention something she INSTANTLY knew where it was on a random table. You could spend all day in there and still not see all she had. My sister liked one thing and instantly she made it into something else. She was just great & I want to hang out with her & hear her stories! She was a great soul and really had beautiful items! Very disappointed. From the very first pool session with the gear provided by Adirondack Scuba I…read morehad an issue with the fit of the BC (buoyancy control device) I was provided. It fit far to loosely allowing the air tank to roll back and forth on my back pulling me with it. I advised each instructor I worked with of the issue. Each agreed the BC was too loose but no one was able to correct it. Finally on the second to last pool session a "helper" asked John (the owner of the shop) to look at it. John advised the straps on the BC were not threaded correctly. He was able to adjust it in minutes. Unfortunately with only one more pool session I did not have time to practice all the required skills to be able to complete my check out dives now that I could keep myself upright in the water. We were originally broken out into groups and I later found the groups had practiced different skills and some of us had missed vital training others had received. The entire group did not receive training on how to read the regulator information, but were told to look it up online. Unfortunately my regulator was not available online and come to find out the one on my BC didn't work at all. At one point John told me he didn't like working with new divers because he doesn't have the patience. That became very clear as time went on. If all goes well you may be OK taking diving lessons here. But beware if you need individual attention you may not get it ending up in a waste of time and money when you are not able to complete your check out dives to become a certified diver. They did offer me the "opportunity" to repeat the course which includes a 45-60 minute drive each way for the pool sessions. If I had never mentioned it to them, it would be on me. But I did every week. As I do not have confidence in the training provided, or the lack of them taking accountability for putting me n a BC that was not correctly fitted in my first session, I have declined their offer.
