When we arrived and asked why wasn't there any info on construction at the place they said they are not liable to give that info out. The parking garage is a literal nightmare. Your assigned parking space is numbered and they are not in any order what so ever so you just drive sound the entire garage until you find your number. The staff is absolutely so rude and hateful. The reviews a read about the elevator experience were a little light compared to what we actually waited for them. Be prepared to wait 45 minutes PLUS to get ON the elevator another 20 minutes just to get to your floor from all the people and kids pushing buttons the elevator stays stopped longer than it does moving. The only issues we had with our room was the sliding balcony door DID NOT LOCK and the door to the room also did not have a locking feature where a small child could not unlock it. We actually had a really bad scare and could not find out one year old we thought she had gotten out of the room. Luckily she was hiding in one of the closets. But still it shouldn't have been something we even had to think of. The dryer in our room needs to be maintenance it ripped nearly an entire load of our clothes. Other than the parking garage the elevator and the door locks it is okay place to stay. I'd say for more family atmosphere do not stay here. You will smell pot . You will hear people's loud really nasty music. We will definitely go a different way next time we visit PCB. Oh and to add in there is no hot water for more than one person taking a shower.

The building was surrounded by scaffolding, balconies were completely barricaded and unusable, and the pool/common areas were impacted by ongoing work. The overall environment felt unsafe, loud, and nothing like a vacation property. Here's the issue: none of this was clearly disclosed in the listing before booking. We received generic follow-up emails after we had already paid that mentioned possible noise and limited access--but they did not come close to describing the severity of the construction or how disruptive it actually was. There's a big difference between "minor inconvenience" and a full-scale renovation happening around you. The unit itself was also not clean to a reasonable standard. Surfaces and furniture appeared to be painted over rather than properly cleaned, with visible stains and signs of poor upkeep throughout. I contacted the company immediately upon arrival asking to relocate and was essentially told "too bad" because of a policy cutoff time--even though we had just walked into a property that did not match what was advertised. After traveling all day with young kids, finding a new place late at night wasn't realistic, so we stayed one night and left first thing in the morning, losing the rest of our reservation. FunQuest Vacation Rentals' response since has been to point to fine print and post-booking emails, rather than taking any responsibility for how misleading this experience was. If you're considering booking with them, be very careful. Ask detailed questions before you book and don't rely on the listing to reflect reality--because in our case, it absolutely did not

They are trying to save face. RealJoy managed unit 412E among others. Ok so let's start with the good because there is good. The Sunbird location is great, right on the beach. This particular unit, 412e, is on the front of the property towards the parking lot but the balcony angles to the back so you get an obstructed but still decent view of the beach from the balcony and living room windows. It's on the less busy side of PCB but still extremely close to so much. Security actually does their job and you feel safe. It was spacious for just me and I think it can hold 2-3 people comfortably. Check in and check out were easy. Price point is great. I didn't swim but the pools looked clean. On paper, this should've been a five-star stay. Now the cons... when I first walked on the Sunbird property I noticed the building itself was a bit run down. Cracks in the wall, dirty siding, elevator dim and grungy. I figured it was just an older beach property and upkeep must be hard so I didn't make a big deal out of it. I opened the door to the unit, easy check in, and it seemed clean from the hallway. Didn't notice any odd smells. Kept walking and the floors were still pretty sandy but whatever, we're at the beach. After setting my things down I went to plug my phone up in the living room and there were big dust balls along the walls, like it hadn't been swept in a while. Then when I went to plug in by the bed, what do I see behind the nightstand... old candy wrappers. Ok so they need a better housekeeper I thought. I checked the sheets and towels pretty thoroughly and there were some markings already on the fitted sheet so I just used the extra one. Everything else, towels and linens, was clean. Honestly my whole goal was to beach it sun up to sun down so I let those things slide. I really wanted to like it, it's cute, I felt safe, and the location can't be beat. I was still ready to give it a 4-5 star review. Then day three happened. I had to run back to the unit around 1pm for something with parking. Turned the light on, went to grab my wallet off the kitchen counter and there it is... a small German roach just making itself at home walking around my wallet. I freaked out a little and scanned the room and see ANOTHER one crawling on the stovetop. They were having a whole party I grabbed my phone to snap a pic but by the time I got the camera open they had already scurried off between the stove and counter with the quickness. I was disgusted. They were on my wallet, on the counter, and on the stove. I don't live with roaches, I definitely did not come here to vacation with them. I messaged RealJoy right away, on Airbnb and by text. One thing about German roaches... if you see two of them hanging out together there's bound to be an infestation. I asked to be moved to another property. I didn't want them spraying roach chemicals around my stuff, I knew this needed actual pest control not a spray bottle from Walmart. They said they couldn't move me without trying to treat it first. I agreed but asked them to let me know when someone was coming so I could meet them at the unit, I wanted to see it myself. That was 2:30pm. No one ever came. Around 4:50p, right before the property front office was about to close, I followed up again and was told it couldn't get handled that day. Still no offer to move me anywhere else. At that point I knew I had to leave a 1 star review. I went back and reread the reviews on Air BnB for the unit and the RealJoy management, just to make sure I hadn't missed something and the only bad review just mentioned space, nothing roach related. It wasn't until I checked the Sunbird's 3rd party reviews that all the roach reviews showed up. Lesson learned, always check reviews outside of Airbnb. That night I slept with all the lights on and just tried to big girl it out since it was my last night and I really needed my beach time. It was an extremely non productive night of attempted rest. I got up early, packed my things, put most of it in the car, and went to the beach to nap instead. Unfortunately, I didn't leave without another surprise. I went into the kitchen to make sure I didn't leave anything in the fridge, and I look up and another little brown critter was on the kitchen ceiling and crawled straight into the dusty vent. That was just plain disrespectful at this point. Confirmed they have a bigger issue and they know about it. Yikes. I communicated with RealJoy, they did nothing. Offered them an opportunity to make it right, nothing.

That tiki bar was the BEST Tiki Bar Gulf Crest has ever had. Amazing food, people, and drinks!! I was saddened when I came back this year and the salty sailor was gone... they replaced it with the "Gulf Crest Social". They didn't even have burgers or much of their food on the 4th of the July.... the drinks aren't as good as they were last year. Also the bartenders aren't very nice most of the time. Except for Whitney. She was outstanding. Please bring back the Salty Sailor!!!!

I immediately messaged the owner that we were heading out of the room when it happened. I also had slept on a pillow and some foundation got on it. The owner has accused us of numerous damages and trying to charge an additional $250! We paid a $150 cleaning fee which she herself "cleans" the unit. I offered to pay for a professional laundry service but thats it. Shes saying the fireplace was damaged by water, the bathrug is stained. Its ridiculous! What if someone had on self tanner (which we did not), or a child wet the bed, or it was blood. I have never dealt with this type of situation in my life. Im 60 years old and have owned my own professional cleaning service for 38 years. I always sweep and clean sinks and counters at any rental. This unit had a dehumidifier that I had to empty three times. We only stayed 3 nights! I paid $1100 that included a cleaning fee. Surely cleaning the sheets properly is included in that $150. Do not rent that unit unless you bring you own linens! Be prepared for the ac and dehumidifier to keep you up all night. This whole situation ruined out trip! Unfortunately, I gave a wonderful review through vrbo upon our arrival. Lesson learned!
