Smiley's totally saved us. Our furnace went out during the Arctic blast that brought the coldest…read moretemps in 25 years. The first company we called said the pipes were frozen and that it was the wrong kind of furnace to be in that space. They wouldn't replace the pipes and keep the still working furnace but would only replace the furnace at a cost of $3750. We then called Smiley's at the recommendation of a friend and they came and were more than willing to replace the frozen pipes and wrap all existing pipes in warming tape. Cost to get furnace up and running: $225. Why buy a new furnace when the old one works just fine? Thanks Smiley's.

I had trouble with Spengler's this past winter wanting to sell me a new furnace when a simple repair was all that was needed, and then on top of it seriously overcharging for replacing a $28 dollar part (I know cause they left the box and I looked it up online, I'm actually pretty ashamed at myself for paying as much as I did and not calling someone else first). I wish I would have known about Smiley's then. Jim and Seth were super nice, taught me how to do my own maintenance, replaced the dead capacitor, and cleaned the unit up. The fee was extremely reasonable and I am extremely happy Jim was recommended to me by a colleague at work. I will do the same recommending anytime in the future.

The other two have yet to return my call. 30 minutes later at my door total cost repair was $200 took an hour, $120 to show up. When he got it running he then inspected the system for a cause, fixed that as well. He answered my question. Offered to cut the cost if I paid cash. I had cash so I paid it. Very good service you pay for what you get. HCS fixed my HVAC same day I called.

The response time that I received during a furnace breakdown on a Saturday (considered an Emergency…read moreCall) was second to none. However, if this happens to you, be prepared to pay premium dollar for the service. It was $120.00 just to show up, whether it be 5 minutes or 60. Any time-charge beyond the first hour will also be formulated at $120.00/hr. In my case, one issue was the replacement of an Automatic Condensate Removal Pump. I was charged $120.00 for the pump and an additional $20.00 for the removal and replace. After the job was completed and the technician was on his way, I decided to do a little price comparing of the pump, on the internet. I soon realized that the average cost of the same pump was priced out at around $40.00 at most of the big-box stores. It's bad enough to pay an extreme, high dollar rate for the service, but to get hosed on the cost of the pump...Well, as the old proverb goes, "Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice..." Anyway, you get my drift. Consumer beware.
